Abstract

The Problem-Oriented Project-Based Learning (POPBL) model is believed to be a learning approach that can effectively facilitate students in developing 21st-century skills. Adopting a student-centered approach is essential to engage students actively in learning activities. This study investigates the impact of the POPBL model on collaboration skills related to metabolic material and cell division. The research employs a quasi-experiment design, and the instrument used for data collection is a collaborative questionnaire that includes peer assessment and self-assessment. Analysis of students' collaboration skills, based on the average collaboration skills calculation, indicates that the experimental class using the POPBL learning model outperformed the control class. Prerequisite tests confirmed that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. The ANCOVA data analysis results show a significant impact of the learning model treatment, with a significance value of p = 0.000<α = 0.05. This indicates that the hypothesis is accepted, and H0 is rejected. Consequently, there are significant differences in collaboration skills between the experimental class (XII MIPA 3) and the control class (XII MIPA 2). These research findings are expected to serve as a valuable reference for educators seeking effective learning models to enhance the quality of biology education, particularly in improving students' collaboration skills.Abstrak. Model pembelajaran Problem Oriented Project Based Learning (POPBL) diyakini dapat pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi siswa agar dapat memberdayakan keterampilan abad-21.  Pembelajaran dengan student center perlu dilakukan agar siswa terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara model POPBL terhadap keterampilan kolaborasi pada materi metabolisme dan pembelahan sel. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasy experiment, dan instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket kolaborasi (Peer assessment dan self assessment). Analisis data keterampilan kolaborasi siswa dengan dengan hasil perhitungan rerata keterampilan kolaborasi menunjukkan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Oriented Project Based Learning (POPBL) lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Uji prasyarat terbukti data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil nilai analisis data ANCOVA memiliki nilai signifikansi perlakuan model pembelajaran yaitu p =0,000<α =0,05 artinya hipotesis diterima dan H0 ditolak. Ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan keterampilan kolaborasi anatara kelas eksperimen (XII MIPA 3) dan kelas kontrol (XII MIPA 2). Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai rujukan model pembelajaran yang memberikan solusi dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran biologi  khususnya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi pada siswa.

Abstract

At Rosa Mystica Catholic Junior High School, networked learning has not been linked to specific learning models and media. Teachers still face difficulties in creating online learning devices. It is necessary to develop learning devices using appropriate learning models and media to assist teachers in learning online. This will positively impact the quality of learning in the network at school. This study aimed to assess the Integrated Science learning device's validity, effectiveness, and practicality based on the inquiry-flipped classroom approach. The study developed learning devices such as syllabus, lesson plans, and electronic student worksheets. The research was conducted in January 2022 at Rosa Mystica Catholic Junior High School. This is a research and development project that uses the ADDIE model. The research findings indicate that the inquiry-based flipped classroom learning device is highly valid, effective, and practical. It is suitable for integrated science learning, specifically the human digestive system. This study contributes to the innovation of integrated science learning, as the combination of inquiry-based and flipped classroom models can create a more effective and engaging learning experience for students.Abstrak. Pembelajaran dalam jaringan yang terjadi di sekolah menengah pertama katolik Rosa Mystica belum terkait dengan model dan media pembelajaran tertentu. Guru masih kesulitan membuat perangkat pembelajaran untuk pembelajaran dalam jaringan. Perlu dilakukan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran menggunakan model dan media pembelajaran untuk membantu guru dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran dalam jaringan yang berdampak pada perbaikan kualitas pembelajaran dalam jaringan di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui validitas, efektifitas perangkat dan kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran IPA Terpadu berbasis inkuiri-flipped classroom. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah silabus, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan lembar kerja peserta didik elektronik berbasis model pembelajaran inkuiri-flipped classroom. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari tahun 2022 di SMPK Rosa Mystica. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri-flipped classroom sangat valid, efektif dan praktis sehingga layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA terpadu materi sistem pencernaan pada manusia. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap inovasi dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu, penggabungan model pembelajaran inkuri dan flipped classroom dapat membuat pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan menarik bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Microteaching as a learning model must be updated for the future, especially in preparing prospective biology teachers with the 4C skills required in the 21st century. This study aims to develop a microteaching model-based Project-based Learning (PjBL) and blended learning to enhance the 4C skills of prospective biology teachers. The research method uses a Research & Development approach with the ADDIE framework. The research subjects are the Biology Education Study Program students who take the microteaching course. This model integrates PjBL and blended learning, including the following stages: (1) Project orientation (synchronous), (2) Module development (asynchronous), (3) Peer review (asynchronous), (4) Presentation of peer review results (synchronous), (5) First teaching practice and peer review (asynchronous), (6) Presentation of first teaching practice results (synchronous), (7) Second teaching practice and peer review (asynchronous), (8) Presentation of second teaching practice results (synchronous), (9) Collection of project videos (synchronous), and (10) Project evaluation (synchronous). Data collection techniques include questionnaires, validation sheets, observation sheets, and tests, with data analysis using a t-test. The results show that model enhances the 4C skills of prospective biology teachers. In conclusion, this model effectively improves 4C skills with the guidance of a logbook and LMS. Still, lecturers must encourage and facilitate student learning activities through direct communication or instant messaging. This research impacts the quality of education for prospective biology teachers in the future.Abstrak. Microteaching sebagai model pembelajaran perlu diperbaharui untuk masa depan, khususnya dalam menyiapkan calon guru biologi dengan keterampilan 4C yang dibutuhkan pada abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model microteaching berbasis project-based learning (PjBL) dan blended learning bagi calon guru biologi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research & Development dengan kerangka ADDIE. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi yang mengambil mata kuliah microteaching. Model microteaching yang dikembangkan mengintegrasikan PjBL dan blended learning, meliputi tahapan: (1) Orientasi proyek (sinkronus), (2) Pengembangan modul (asinkronus), (3) Peer review (asinkronus), (4) Presentasi hasil peer review (sinkronus), (5) Praktik mengajar pertama dan peer review (asinkronus), (6) Presentasi hasil praktik mengajar pertama (sinkronus), (7) Praktik mengajar kedua dan peer review (asinkronus), (8) Presentasi hasil praktik mengajar kedua (sinkronus), (9) Pengumpulan video proyek pembelajaran (sinkronus), dan (10) Evaluasi dan penilaian proyek (sinkronus). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, lembar validasi, lembar observasi, dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan t-test.  Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model ini meningkatkan keterampilan 4C pada calon guru biologi. Kesimpulannya, moel ini efektif meningkatkan keterampilan 4C dengan panduan logbook dan LMS, Namun, dosen perlu mendorong dan menfasilitasi kegiatan belajar mahasiswa melalui komunikasi langsung atau pesan instan. Penelitian ini berdampak pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan calon guru biologi di masa depan.

Abstract

Biology learning media that are interesting, easy to use, and effective in improving the quality of students and integrated with Islamic values such as wahdatul ‘ulum need to be developed. Wahdatul ‘ulum is one of the main concepts in the philosophy of science at the Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara (UINSU). This study aims to analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the integrated biology e-magazine on the wahdatul ‘ulum paradigm developed on reproductive system material. The type of research used is research and development (RnD) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The instruments used in this research are interview sheets, needs analysis questionnaires of biology teachers and students, validation sheets of material experts, media experts, and wahdatul ‘ulum experts, response questionnaires of biology teachers and students, and multiple-choice question tests. The results showed that the validity of e-magazines from media experts obtained a percentage of 94.70% (very valid), material experts obtained a percentage of 95.83% (very valid), and wahdatul ‘ulum experts obtained a percentage of 87.50% (very valid). The practicality of e-magazines is that the response of biology teachers obtained a percentage of 92.50% (very practical), and the response of students obtained a percentage of 91.06% (very practical). The effectiveness of e-magazines is known from N-Gain results of 0.72 (effective). The advantages of biology e-magazines on reproductive system material developed because it is integrated with the wahdatul ‘ulum paradigm, easy to understand, attractive in design, and able to improve learning outcomes, although in the aspect of motivating students to enthusiasm for learning has not reached good criteria. Further research is needed to achieve a broader goal of shaping the positive character of students.Abstrak. Media belajar biologi yang menarih, mudah digunakan, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas peserta didik serta terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai keislaman seperti wahdatul ‘ulum perlu dikembangkan. Wahdatul ‘ulum adalah salah satu konsep utama dalam filsafat ilmu di Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara (UINSU). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan e-majalah biologi terintegrasi paradigma wahdatul ‘ulum yang dikembangkan pada materi sistem reproduksi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (RnD) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah berupa lembar wawancara, angket analisis kebutuhan guru biologi dan peserta didik, lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli wahdatul ‘ulum, angket respon guru biologi dan peserta didik, serta tes soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kevalidan e-majalah dari ahli media diperoleh persentase sebesar 94,70% (sangat valid), dari ahli materi diperoleh persentase sebesar 95,83% (sangat valid), dan dari ahli wahdatul ‘ulum diperoleh persentase sebesar 87,50% (sangat valid). Kepraktisan e-majalah dari respon guru biologi diperoleh persentase sebesar 92,50% (sangat praktis) dan dari respon peserta didik diperoleh persentase sebesar 91,06% (sangat praktis). Kefektifan e-majalah diketahui dari hasil N-Gain 0,72 (efektif). Kelebihan dari e-majalah biologi materi sistem reproduksi yang dikembangkan karena terintegrasi dengan paradigma wahdatul ‘ulum, mudah dipahami, desain menarik, dan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar, meskipun pada aspek memotivasi peserta didik untuk semangat belajar belum mencapai kriteria baik. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mencapai tujuan yang lebih luas yaitu membentuk karakter positif peserta didik.

Abstract

Low scientific literacy is due to the large amount of material being taught and not applying basic biological concepts to problems commonly encountered in the surrounding environment. The Islamic science integration approach, which was developed into teaching materials in the form of e-modules, needs to be applied because it places a variety of diversity in scientific disciplines (Islamist studies, Natural studies, Social studies, and Humanities). The research aims to develop and test an E-module's validity, practicality, and effectiveness based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Integrated Islamic Science Human Reproductive System Material to Improve Science Literacy and Student Learning Outcomes. The research and development model refers to a Branch consisting of ADDIE, namely the analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate stages. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and validation sheets. The results of research on the effectiveness of e-modules show that e-modules are very valid in improving scientific literacy and student learning outcomes. Based on the N-gain calculation, scientific literacy is in the medium category with significant t-test results. The learning outcomes are in the high category with very significant t-test results. This research shows that the PBL-based e-module material on the science-Islam integrated human reproductive system can be developed and effectively used in learning activities.Abstrak. Literasi sains rendah disebabkan banyaknya materi yang diajarkan, kurang menerapkan konsep dasar biologi terhadap permasalah yang biasa ditemui di lingkungan sekitar. Pendekatan integrasi sains-Islam yang dikembangkan menjadi bahan ajar berupa e-module perlu diterapkan karena menempatkan berbagai keberagaman terhadap disiplin ilmu (Islamis-Studies, Natural studies, Social studies dan Humaniora). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, menguji kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan e-module berbasis Problem Based learning (PBL) Materi Sistem Reproduksi Manusia Terintegrasi Sains Islam untuk Meningkatkan Literasi Sains dan Hasil Belajar Mahasiswa. Model penelitian dan pengembangan mengacu pada Branch terdiri dari ADDIE yaitu tahap analyze, design, develop, implement, dan evaluate. Tenik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa angket dan lembar validasi. Hasil penelitian terhadap keefektifan e-module menunjukkan bahwa e-module sangat valid dalam meningkatkan literasi sains dan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Berdasarkan perhitungan N-gain literasi sains masuk kategori sedang, dan hasil belajar masuk kategori tinggi dengan hasil uji-t yang sangat signifikan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-module berbasis PBL materi sistem reproduksi manusia terintegrasi sains-Islam dapat dikembangkan dan efektif digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

The ability to think at a high level is essential for students to master because this ability encourages students' motivation to look at every problem critically. Learning motivation and emotional intelligence are several factors that determine how students have the desire or drive to achieve their goals. This study is ex post facto research to examine the relationship between learning motivation and emotional intelligence with higher-order thinking skills. The population in this study were all students of grade XI IPA at public senior high schools in the Majene district of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research samples 268 students by employing a simple random sampling technique with representatives of one school for each sub-district in Majene Regency. The research instruments were a questionnaire on learning motivation and emotional intelligence and a test of higher-order thinking skills on Biology learning material. The data obtained in this research was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics (multiple and simple regression analysis) with the help of the SPSS program. Based on the hypothesis testing, the research results reveal that learning motivation and emotional intelligence have a very strong and significant relationship to higher-order thinking skills. Further research is needed to achieve broader goals, increase learning motivation and increase students' positive character values.Abstrak. Kemampuan berpikir tingkat  tinggi sangat penting untuk di kuasai oleh peserta didik, karena kemampuan tersebut mendorong motivasi peserta didik untuk memandang setiap permasalahan dengan kritis. Motivasi belajar dan kecerdasan emosional merupakan beberapa faktor yang menjadi penentu bagaimana peserta didik memiliki keinginan atau dorongan dalam menggapai cita-citanya. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex post facto yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan kecerdasan emosional dengan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Majene tahun  ajaran 2023/2024. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil sebanyak 268 dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dengan perwakilan satu sekolah untuk masing-masing kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Majene. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah angket motivasi belajar dan kecerdasan emosional dan tes keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada materi biologi. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini di analisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, dan inferensial (analisis regresi ganda dan sederhana) dengan bantuan program SPSS. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar dan kecerdasan emosional memiliki hubungan yang sangat kuat dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mencapai tujuan yang lebih luas meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan meningkatkan nilai karakter positif siswa.

Abstract

Developing teaching materials based on local potential is necessary for introducing objects in the surrounding environment to support student learning. This is expected to broaden the insights and knowledge of students so that they become more familiar with and know the object of the material being taught. Wetlands are the dominant area in the South Kalimantan region and can be one of the learning resources in producing a product that can support learning at all levels of education; this can be in the form of local potential-based teaching materials, one of which is a popular scientific book. This study aims to describe the validity and practicality of popular scientific books based on the results of research on the Diversity of Semar Pockets (Nepenthes) Forest Areas in Tanta District, Tabalong Regency ". The validity and practicality tests were carried out at the Preliminary field testing stage used in the Borg and Gall model development research at the validity test stage involving two validators, while the practicality test involved 30 students who had passed the Phanerogamae course. The results showed that the Popular Scientific Book "Diversity of Semar Bag Species (Nepenthes) in the Forest Area of Tanta District, Tabalong Regency," obtained a very valid and very practical category. The results of this study indicate that the popular scientific book prepared can be used further to test its effectiveness on the learning process and outcomes.Abstrak. Pengembangan bahan ajar yang berbasis potensi lokal sangat perlu dalam memperkenalkan objek yang ada di lingkungan sekitar dalam menunjang pembelajaran peserta didik. Hal ini diharapkan memperluas wawasan dan pengetahuan peserta didik lebih mengenal dan mengetahui akan objek materi yang dibelajarkan. Lahan basah merupakan kawasan yang dominan di wilayah Kalimantan Selatan, dapat menjadi salah satu sumber belajar dalam menghasilkan suatu produk yang dapat mendukung pembelajaran di semua tingkat pendidikan, hal ini dapat berupa bahan ajar berbasis potensi lokal salah satunya yaitu buku ilmiah populer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan dan kepraktisan buku ilmiah popular berbasis hasil penelitian Keragaman Kantong Semar (Nepenthes) Kawasan Hutan di Kecamatan Tanta Kabupaten Tabalong”. Uji kevalidan dan kepraktisan dilaksanakan pada tahap Preliminary field testing yang digunakan dalam penelitian pengembangan model Borg and Gall pada tahap uji kevalidan melibatkan dua validator, sedangkan uji kepraktisan melibatkan 30 mahasiswa yang sudah lulus mata kuliah Phanerogamae. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Buku Ilmiah Populer ”Keanekaragaman Jenis Kantong Semar (Nepenthes) di Kawasan Hutan Kecamatan Tanta Kabupaten Tabalong” yang dikembangkan memperoleh kategori sangat valid dan sangat praktis. Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa buku ilmiah popular yang disusun dapat digunakan lebih lanjut untuk uji efektivitasnya terhadap proses maupun hasil belajar.

The Biology Education Research (BER) course in the 6th semester of S1 Biology Education FKIP Lambung Mangkurat University, discusses research methodology which includes types of research, methods, variables, theoretical foundations, and hypotheses. However, textbooks that are in accordance with the Semester Learning Plan (LP) and can develop students' critical thinking skills are needed. Based on these problems, the textbook is prepared in accordance with the textbook components in general and develops textbooks based on the State of The Art (SOTA) concept, namely renewal in improving cognitive understanding and obtaining the results of critical thinking by containing exercises in the form of questions based on Bloom's taxonomy ranging from C3-C5. This study aims to produce textbooks on BER that are effective to use and can train students' critical thinking skills. This type of research uses the Education Design Research (EDR) model through the Tessmer Formative Test. Testing the effectiveness of the textbook on BER was carried out to a small group evaluation totaling five students and a field test totaling 25 students. The test uses instruments in the form of working on evaluation questions and college student activity sheets (CSAS). The results of the study based on the expected effectiveness test of the textbook developed with an average value of 69.20 increased to 81.70. While the actual effectiveness tests got an average value of 71.36 increasing to 85.36. Then the average N-gain value is 0.5 which is in the moderate category. These results prove that the BER textbook is effective in learning.Abstrak. Mata kuliah Penelitian Pendidikan Biologi (P2BIO) pada semester 6 S1 Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, membahas metodologi penelitian yang meliputi jenis penelitian, metode, variabel, landasan teori, dan hipotesis. Namun, buku ajar yang sesuai dengan Rancangan Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) dan dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa diperlukan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, buku ajar tersebut disusun sesuai dengan komponen buku ajar pada umumnya dan mengembangkan buku ajar berdasarkan konsep State of The Art (SOTA) yaitu pembaharuan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman kognitif dan memperoleh hasil cara berpikir kritis dengan memuat latihan berupa pertanyaan-pertanyaan berdasarkan taksonomi bloom mulai dari C3–C5. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan buku ajar tentang P2BIO yang efektif digunakan dan dapat melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa.  Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan model Education Design Research (EDR) melalui Uji Formatif Tessmer. Pengujian keefektifan buku ajar tentang P2BIO tersebut dilakukan kepada kelompok kecil (small group evaluation) berjumlah lima mahasiswa dan uji lapangan (field test) berjumlah 25 mahasiswa. Pengujian tersebut dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa pengerjaan soal evaluasi dan lembar kegiatan mahasiswa (LKM). Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji keefektifan harapan terhadap buku ajar yang dikembangkan dengan nilai rata-rata 69,20 meningkat menjadi 81,70. Sedangkan uji keefektifan aktual mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 71,36 meningkat menjadi 85,36. Maka nila rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,5 yang berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil ini membuktikan buku ajar BER tersebut efektif dilaksanakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Electronic learning media based on character education, which results in the value of student character education, is still lacking. At the same time, some teenagers today have committed sexual harassment and negative behavior due to low character education. Therefore, it is necessary to have character education-based learning media, especially on reproductive system material. This study determines the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of character education-based e-booklets on reproductive system material. This study aims to produce character education-based e-booklets to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of character education-based e-booklets on reproductive system material for students of class XI Vulpecula SMA Negeri 16 Medan. This research is a research and development (R&D) that uses the 4D model. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 16 Medan for the academic year 2023/2024. Data were collected using validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and character education questionnaires for students. Furthermore, the data was collected using a Likert scale. This product was declared valid by media experts (93%), material experts (92%) and character education experts (91%). The results of the practicality analysis showed that the product developed was very practical, with the results for teacher responses (87%) and students' responses (92%). The analysis results of the student character education assessment obtained results (72%) that are developing. The advantages of the biology e-booklet on reproductive system material developed are that it is based on character education, is easy to understand, has an attractive design, and can improve learning outcomes. However, the religious indicators of students have not yet reached the highest criteria. Further research is needed to achieve a broader goal of shaping students' positive character education values.Abstrak. Media pembelajaran elektronik berbasis pendidikan karakter yang mengakibatkan nilai pendidikan karakter siswa masih kurang. Bersamaan dengan beberapa anak remaja zaman sekarang sudah melakukan pelecehan seksual dan tingkah laku negatif yang diakibatkan rendahnya pendidikan karakter. Maka dari itu perlu adanya media pembelajaran berbasis pendidikan karakter terutama pada materi sistem reproduksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas, praktikalitas, dan efektivitas e-booklet berbasis pendidikan karakter pada materi sistem reproduksi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang menggunakan model 4D. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 16 Medan untuk tahun akademik 2023/2024. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar validasi, angket tanggapan guru dan siswa dan angket pendidikan karakter untuk siswa. Selanjutnya data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala likert. Produk ini dinyatakan valid oleh ahli media (93%) ahli materi (92%) dan ahli pendidikan karakter (91%). Hasil analisis kepraktisan menunjukan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan sangat praktis dengan hasil tanggapan guru (87%) dan siswa (92%). Hasil analisis penilaian pendidikan karakter siswa didapatkan hasil hasil akhir (72%) sudah berkembang. Kelebihan dari e-booklet biologi materi sistem reproduksi yang dikembangkan karena berbasis pendidikan karakter, mudah dipahami, desain menarik, dan mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar. Namun, indikator religiusitas siswa belum mencapai kriteria tertinggi. Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk mencapai tujuan yang lebih luas yaitu membentuk nilai pendidikan karakter positif peserta didik.

Abstract

ntroducing social life issues is one attempt to enhance student innovation and critical thinking. One of the models that integrates socio-scientific issues is the socio-scientific inquiry (SSI) model. The SSI learning model is a model with a social scientific issue that connects the communication relationship between science, technology, and society about the environment. This study aimed to study the influence of the SSI model supported by mind mapping on the critical thinking skills of senior high school (SMA) students in the context of the digestive system. This research is a quasi-experiment. Data is collected using observations and test instruments in the form of essays. The research population is the entire student body of the natural science (IPA) program at one of the Islamic senior high schools (MA) in the Dairi Sidikalang district, consisting of 120 students in three classes XI MIPA. This study contains data on critical thinking skills with independent sample tests, first with prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests. The prerequisite test results obtained normal and homogeneous distributed data. The result of the t-test is a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00. The sig. value is less than 0.05. This result means that if H0 is rejected, H1 is accepted, so it is concluded that there are differences in the critical thinking results of students due to the treatment of the SSI model. The results of this study showed that the critical thinking skills of eleventh-grade MA students were improved, as can be seen from the results of pretests and posttests in experimental and control classes. So, the SSI model is effectively used to improve the critical thinking of SMA or MA students.Abstrak. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan inovasi pembelajaran dan berpikir kritis siswa adalah dengan menghadirkan isu-isu yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sosial. Salah satu model yang mengintegrasikan isu socio saintifik adalah model Socio-Scientific Inquiry (SSI). Model pembelajaran SSI adalah model dengan isu isu socio saintifik yang dimana mengaitkan antara hubungan komunikasi antara ilmu ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan Masyarakat mengenai lingkungan sekitar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji pengaruh model SSI yang didukung oleh mind mapping terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA), khususnya dalam konteks sistem pencernaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi dan instrument test berupa essai. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa program IPA pada salah satu Madrasah Aliyah (MA) di Kabupaten Dairi Sidikalang sebanyak 120 siswa yang terdiri dari tiga kelas XI MIPA. Penelitian ini memuat data kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan uji independent sample test dengan uji prasyarat telebih dahulu yakni uji normalitas dan homogenitas. Hasil uji prasyarat diperoleh data berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Data hasil uji t test yakni nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,00. Nilai sig. (2-tailed) lebih kecil 0,05. Hal ini berarti jika H0 ditola, maka H1 diterima, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil berpikir kritis siswa akibat pemberian perlakuan model SSI. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan dampak bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI MA mengalami peningkatan, dapat dilihat dari hasil pretest dan posttest pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas control. Maka, model SSI efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA atau MA.
