Abstract

This research examines the integration of local wisdom into the curriculum at IAIN Kerinci, focusing on how ethnographic methods can create a culturally relevant and context-specific educational framework. As globalization rapidly advances, the need to incorporate local traditions, values, and cultural identities into education has become increasingly significant, especially in regions with rich cultural heritage like Kerinci. The study highlights the role of local wisdom, including ecological knowledge from the Kerinci Seblat National Park, local rituals, and historical religious practices, in shaping the curriculum. Findings reveal that embedding local wisdom enhances the curriculum's relevance and strengthens students' cultural identities and social sensitivity. Ethnographic methods, such as participatory observation and in-depth interviews, are key to uncovering and preserving neglected local cultural knowledge. The study also identifies challenges in implementing this curriculum, including resistance to change, limited resources for field research, and the need for a more robust institutional framework. The research concludes that integrating local wisdom through an ethnographic approach is crucial in developing an inclusive, contextually relevant curriculum that produces globally competent graduates, proud of their cultural heritage. This model offers valuable insights for other educational institutions in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

The professionalism of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers is a crucial factor in achieving national education goals and forming students' noble character (akhlaqul karimah). However, a gap persists between professional standards and the practical challenges teachers face in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the roles and functions of IRE teachers as professionals in the modern educational context. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, data were gathered from relevant laws, books, and academic journals. The results indicate that an IRE teacher's professionalism is built upon four mandatory competencies: pedagogical, professional, personality, and social. Beyond being mere instructors, IRE teachers function as "murabbi" (nurturers) who instill moral values, facilitators of active learning, and motivators who inspire spiritual and intellectual growth. The study concludes that the integration of digital competence and the role of "uswatun hasanah" (exemplary role model) are essential for IRE teachers to effectively manage contemporary educational dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model through the involvement of community figures in teaching the fiqh of funeral management at SMK Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau. The background of this research is based on the need to transform conventional teaching methods into a more applicable approach for vocational high school students. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers, and documentation of learning outcomes. The findings reveal that the implementation of the CTL model was carried out through systematic integration between classroom theoretical reinforcement and the direct involvement of community figures as primary practitioners. This process successfully transformed learning from a theoretical approach into an authentic and meaningful learning experience. The involvement of social actors in the instructional process proved capable of optimizing cognitive understanding, sharpening psychomotor skills, and validating students' mental readiness and self-confidence in performing fardhu kifayah obligations. This study concludes that the synchronization between the school curriculum and the practical wisdom of community figures creates an adaptive learning ecosystem for vocational students in fulfilling their religious social responsibilities.

Abstract

The practice of modern Islamic education today tends to be stuck in administrative formalities so as to lose the philosophical and reflective depth that is the essence of the teachings of the Qur'an. This research aims to explore the philosophical dimension in the Qur'an to reconstruct the Islamic education model that is able to harmonize revelation with the development of reason. This study uses a qualitative method through a literature study with thematic interpretation analysis (maudhu'i) on key terms such as al-haqq, al-'ilm, and hikmah. The results of the study show that philosophy in Islam is an instrument to harmonize reason and faith through the process of tafakkur and tadabbur. Islamic epistemology positions revelation as a guide of reason in achieving absolute truth. In the context of education, this integration aims to form students who have spiritual depth (ma'rifah) and a solid understanding of religion (tafaqquh fi al-din), so that education is not only a cognitive process, but also transformative for character and intellectual.

Abstract

The study of Tafsir and Hadith (STH) is a core discipline in Islamology that serves as an epistemic foundation for understanding revelation. However, the study faces significant challenges in dealing with issues of textual interpretation, interdisciplinary integration, and global professional qualification demands. This study aims to analyze the methodological shift and impact of the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology on the STH curriculum in Islamic Universities (PTI). The method used is qualitative-analytical based on literature studies from internationally reputable journals with a focus on curriculum framework analysis, source authority debates, and the adoption of linguistic computing. Key findings point to a crucial shift in the methodology of Hadith study from the acceptance of passive sanad authority to active confirmation, in which the Qur'an is positioned as an epistemic filter to the content of the Hadith. On the other hand, the adoption of Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology is a crucial tool for semantic analysis of sacred texts that has the potential to provide quantitative solutions to the demands of textual coherence. The study also found that the competency profile of STH graduates should be expanded to include the integration of digital skills to meet the demands of the global job market. The implications of this report suggest curriculum reform that marries the depth of classical science with modern research capabilities and increased the capacity of lecturers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in integrating abstract values within the Merdeka Curriculum at MTs Ittihaadul Ulum Lubuklinggau. Abstract values such as sincerity, patience, trust in God, responsibility, and gratitude are essential in shaping students’ character but are often difficult to understand when delivered only theoretically. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The findings reveal that teachers implement several strategies, including project-based learning, differentiated instruction, interdisciplinary integration, digital technology utilization, and student reflection. Project-based activities such as social service and environmental projects effectively help students internalize abstract values through real-life experiences. However, challenges remain, particularly students’ difficulty in understanding abstract concepts and limited digital facilities. These challenges are addressed through contextual teaching approaches and creative use of simple learning media. The study implies that integrating abstract values into PAI learning strengthens students’ Islamic character and enhances the relevance of education in the modern era. These strategies can be adopted and further developed in other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out student’s learning interest in Islamic religious education (IRE) lessons using moodle. In the world of education, the development of digital technology utilizes online based learning media that is more effective and interactive. Moodle is used to support the learning process in the form of attendance, assignment, quizzes and online material delivery. The use of this platform is expected to be able to create a more interesting learning atmosphere so that it can increase students' motivation and interest in learning in participating in IRE learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. In this study, the researcher collected data by conducting 3 stages, namely interviews, observations, and documentation. This interview was conducted with PAI teachers and students, observations were carried out directly at school to find out the IRE learning process and documentation was carried out by examining related documents. The results of this study show that the use of digital media such as e-learning, the moodle platform is able to increase students' motivation and interest in learning IRE subjects. The increase in students' interest in learning in using moodle in the IRE learning process has become more active and developed than before using the moodle platform website. This conclusion confirms that the use of the moodle platform in IRE learning is very useful and helps to increase students' interest and understanding of learning, as well as helping students to learn anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine scientific discourse in universities as an effort to improve the quality and competitiveness of universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion. Using the literature review method, by tracing written sources in the form of books and scientific journals that are available offline and online. The results of the study show that first, state Islamic religious universities have been struggling with narrow scientific studies for too long, so that they seem to keep their distance from general science and technology. Second, the scientific dichotomy between religion and science is a colonial product. Third, a new awareness emerged of Islamic scholars after the New Order to integrate religious and scientific knowledge and was supported by the government by encouraging state Islamic universities to become universities. Fourth, until entering the 20th year after the transfer of status to a university (UIN Syarif Jakarta, 2002), it still has not shown encouraging results for scientific products, especially science and technology. Fifth, there needs to be more grounding/downstreaming of Islamic higher education science in the midst of society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of theory and practice in Fiqh learning at KMI Putra Al-Ishlah Bondowoso Islamic Boarding School through the perspective of the Degeng-Reigeluth learning strategy. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed interactively through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the integration of theory and practice in Fiqh learning takes place as a learning model that is integrated with the 24-hour pesantren system. The integration can be seen in the gradual and contextual organization of materials, the delivery of participatory and habituation-based learning, learning management supported by daily supervision and pesantren culture, and evaluation that emphasizes worship practices and the readiness of students in carrying out religious functions. These findings show that Fiqh learning in Islamic boarding schools is not only oriented to mastering concepts, but also to the formation of habits, discipline, and competencies of student worship in real terms. Thus, this study confirms that pesantren have the potential to become an effective learning ecosystem in integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions in an integrated manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in managing the risk of disciplinary disturbances and students' learning concentration at SD Negeri 12 Pemulutan Barat, South Sumatra. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The informants consisted of the principal and Islamic Religious Education teachers selected purposively. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the forms of disciplinary and concentration disturbances include students talking during lessons, arriving late, not completing assignments, feeling sleepy, losing focus, and being easily distracted. These conditions are influenced by family environment, excessive gadget use, low learning motivation, and monotonous teaching methods. To manage these risks, teachers implemented various strategies, including creating a conducive classroom atmosphere, applying varied learning methods, providing educational sanctions, conducting interactive communication, and collaborating with parents. The study concludes that Islamic Religious Education teachers play strategic roles as murabbi, mu'allim, and muaddib in fostering discipline, responsibility, and self-control among students through exemplary conduct, habituation, and persuasive approaches to create a conducive learning environment.
