Abstract

This article aims to examine the philosophy of science underpinning three major Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, namely Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), madrasas, and Islamic higher education institutions (PTKI). The study employs a library research method by analyzing the collective ideas and perspectives of prominent scholars through the lens of the philosophy of science. The findings reveal that the scientific philosophy of pesantren remains predominantly oriented toward tafaqquh fi al-din, emphasizing religious sciences while tending to separate or marginalize ghayr al-shar'iyyah sciences. In madrasas, the dominance of tafaqquh fi al-din has gradually declined with the inclusion of social sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities in the curriculum, although these disciplines are generally implemented within an independent rather than integrated scientific framework. Meanwhile, PTKI has developed diverse models of scientific integration based on different philosophical foundations to bridge the dichotomy between religious and general sciences. Nevertheless, at the practical and institutional levels, the implementation of scientific integration remains an ongoing challenge, requiring stronger epistemological, curricular, and academic efforts to achieve a more comprehensive and sustainable integration of knowledge. This article aims to examine the philosophy of science underpinning three major Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, namely Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), madrasas, and Islamic higher education institutions (PTKI). Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly on the topic of the procedures of Tarawih prayer, through the implementation of the Mastery Learning model in Grade V of SD Negeri 40 Seluma, Bengkulu. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 18 fifth-grade students, including 8 male and 10 female students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, practical tests, and documentation. The analysis used descriptive quantitative techniques with percentage calculations to measure students’ learning achievement and learning activity. The findings showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the Mastery Learning model. Classical learning mastery increased from 38.89% in the pre-cycle to 55.56% in Cycle I, and further to 83.33% in Cycle II. The proportion of students who had not yet achieved mastery decreased from 61.11% in the pre-cycle to 44.44% in Cycle I and 16.67% in Cycle II, indicating that the implementation of Mastery Learning effectively improved students’ learning outcomes and participation in Islamic Religious Education. These results indicate that the Mastery Learning model effectively enhances students’ learning outcomes and engagement in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Teamwork is a central competency in 21st-century learning and constitutes one of the primary objectives of Physics education, integrating aspects of cognitive, social, and moral development. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) in enhancing students’ teamwork skills in Physics learning. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design involving two Grade XI classes, namely the experimental group (XI A) and the control group (XI B). Students’ teamwork skills were measured using a validated instrument. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test and normalized gain (N-Gain). The findings revealed a statistically significant difference in posttest scores between the two groups (t = 15.26; p < 0.001). Furthermore, the experimental group demonstrated a moderate improvement category (N-Gain = 0.584), whereas the control group showed only a low level of improvement (N-Gain = 0.063).

Abstract

A professional teacher upholds the educational code of ethics when facing challenges. The code of ethics is very important in improving the professionalism of educators. Because it functions as a guide for all their behavior, the code of ethics helps regulate and enhance teachers’ attitudes, ethics, and morals.  The implementation of the teacher’s code of ethics is a concrete effort by educators to demonstrate professional, moral, and responsible behavior in carrying out their duties. The code of ethics is not merely a written rule but a guideline that directs the attitudes and actions of teachers in every educational interaction. Through the code of ethics, teachers are expected to display exemplary character for students, reflecting personal integrity, honesty, and a commitment to improving the quality of education. The main objective of implementing the Teacher’s Code of Ethics is to create a conducive, integrity-based learning environment that supports students’ overall development. The challenges faced by teachers that they have not yet resolved in carrying out their educational duties can be divided into two categories: problems originating from the teachers themselves (internal problems) and those coming from outside the teachers (external problems). To address these issues, several solutions can be implemented, including strengthening the socialization and periodic training of the code of ethics for teachers, integrating ethical values into continuous professional development (CPD) programs, as well as enhancing supervision and moral guidance by school principals and supervisors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing character education values among students at MI Nur Riska Lubuklinggau through Islamic school culture and religious habituation programs. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the internalization of character education values is implemented through the integration of Islamic school culture, religious habituation, teacher role modeling, and communication books connecting school and family environments. The process reflects Thomas Lickona’s theory consisting of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. Religious habituation activities such as congregational prayers, Qur’anic recitation, and the Smart and Motivation program contribute significantly to strengthening students’ discipline, honesty, responsibility, and social awareness. The study also reveals that communication books function as a medium of continuous character monitoring between teachers and parents. Supporting factors include strong Islamic school culture, teacher involvement, and parental participation, while challenges arise from digital media influence and differences in students’ family backgrounds. This study contributes to the development of Islamic character education through the integration of school culture, religious habituation, and family involvement in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah plays a strategic role in fostering a tolerant, inclusive, and moderate generation within a pluralistic society. The integration of multicultural values into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum is essential for strengthening social cohesion, promoting mutual respect, and preventing intolerance. This study aims to analyze the influence of educational political policies on the implementation of multicultural values in the PAI curriculum and to identify the associated challenges and opportunities. The research employs a qualitative library research approach through the analysis of scholarly literature, educational regulations, and relevant policy documents. That policies such as the Independent Curriculum, the Pancasila Student Profile, and the Rahmatan lil ‘Alamin Student Profile provide a formal foundation for integrating multicultural values into curriculum content, learning processes, and school culture. However, limited teacher competence, insufficient contextual teaching materials, monocultural perspectives, and identity politicization remain significant challenges that require collaborative and sustainable solutions.
