Abstract

The profile breeder's is a description of person in general depending on which aspect he looks at, starting from age, gender, education and experience influence the use forage in Tebing Tinggi Barat District by utilizing mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata) as an alternative feed. The purpose of study was to determine the profile of farmers and the nutritional quality of mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata). This research was carried out from March to April 2021 in Tebing Tinggi Barat District and the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science, Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University, Riau. The method used is interview and analysis nutritional quality of mangrove.  The results showed that 90% of farmers gave mangrove leaves as forage it can be sean from the age of the highest breeder was 39-50 years, with gender 80% male, and education level 40% high school, and 70% own livestock ownership, had an average of 6-9 goats 55%, farmer occupation 40 %, experience raising more than 5 years 40%, household dependents 1-3 people 71%. Based on the nutritional quality of mangrove leaf meal (Rizophora apiculata) it has 27.62% Dry Matter, 72.37% Moisture water, 6.70% Crude Protein, 13.49% Crude Fiber, 3.33% Crude Fat, 11.65% Ash Content, 64.79% Nitrogen Free Extract ingredient, and 64.93% Total Digestible Nutrient. The conclusion of the study is that farmers are old and do not get information and new innovations and based on proximate analysis of mangrove leaves (Rizophora apiculata) can be used as forage for livestock.Keywords: leaves mangrove, nutritional quality, profile breeder

Abstract

ABSTRAKUlat jerman merupakan larva dari kumbang Zophobas morio yang saat ini banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia. Ulat jerman banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan untuk beberapa hewan peliharaan seperti burung kicau, sugar glider, dan berbagai macam reptile. Percobaan ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3600 ekor ulat jerman terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, sehingga di dapat 18 unit percobaan dan setiap unit percobaan terdiri atas 200 ekor ulat Jerman. Perlakuan tersebut di antaranya P1 = dedak, P2 = pollard, dan P3 = onggok. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis ragam dan perbedaan antara perlakuan dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Berdasarkan analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian media nutrisi berbeda nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum dan daya hidup ulat Jerman. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil bahwa pollard merupakan media nutrisi terbaik bagi pertumbuhan ulat Jerman.Kata kunci : Ulat Jerman, media nutrisi, dedak, pollard, onggok, bobot badan, konsumsi efisiensi pakan

Abstract

Research on mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three different types of legumes on ultisol soils on the PK, SK, Ca, and P content of grass was carried out from April to July 2022 at the Experimental Garden of Animal Food Crops Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three different types of legumes on ultisol soils on the PK, SK, Ca, and P content of grass. The study was conducted for 3 months with an experimental method using a randomized block design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. This experiment consisted of P0 = Brachiaria decumbens grass, P1 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Arachis pintoi grass, P2 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Canavalia gladiata legume, P3 = Brachiaria decumbens grass + Centrosema pubescens legume. The results showed that the mixed cropping treatment of Brachiaria decumbens grass with three types of legumes significantly affected the PK, SK, and P content of the grass, but did not significantly differ on the Ca content of the grass. Mixed cultivation of Brachiaria decumbens grass with sword koro beans (Canavalia gladiata) resulted in the highest average crude protein content and the lowest crude fiber, namely 12% and 23.32%, respectively. Planting a mixture of Brachiaria decumbens grass with Arachis pintoi produced the highest average phosphorus content of 0.57%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ransum yang ditambah New Probiotik Heryaki dengan berbagai dosis terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan, serta mengetahui perlakuan mana yang menghasilkan pertambahan bobot badan tertinggi dan konversi pakan terendah pada ayam broiler. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai April 2021 di Dusun Seklok, Desa Tanjungwangi, Kecamatan Tanjungmedar, Kabupaten Sumedang. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 100 ekor ayam broiler strain Cobbs. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan P0 (Ransum basal/kontrol), P1 (Ransum basal ditambah 0,3% New Probiotik Heryaki), P2 (Ransum basal ditambah 0,6% New Probiotik Heryaki), dan P3 (Ransum basal ditambah 0,9% New Probiotik Heryaki). Setiap perlakuan memilki 5 ulangan. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan New Probiotik Heryaki dengan berbagai dosis tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan.Kata Kunci: Broiler, konversi pakan, New Probiotik Heryaki, pertambahan bobot badan.

Abstract

Sorghum plants can be developed in Indonesia as feed for ruminants. This is due to agro-ecological conditions that can be tolerant of land conditions in Indonesia. Dry land can be used for the growth of sorghum because sorghum is a cereal with low water content. The harvest method can be carried out at the age of 85 days  to 90 days, due to the high content of organic matter, dry matter, and crude protein. By-products of sorghum or sorghum waste in the form of leaves and stems can be used as forage for ruminants. Antinutrient substances in sorghum can be processed with silage technology to maintain nutrients, feed reserves for a long time, and increase digestibility in the rumen of ruminants to increase feed efficiency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak buah mengkudu yang disuplementasi dengan mineral Cu dan Zn serta diberi perlakuan mikrokapsul menggunakan maltodekstrin terhadap jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit ayam Sentul fase grower. Pengujian sampel darah ayam Sentul dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi Ternak dan Biokimia, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran, Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan pengaruh perlakuan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, yaitu P0 = Ransum Basal, P1= Ransum Basal + 50 mg/kg Zinc Basitrasin, P2= Ransum Basal +125 mg/kg MEBM, P3= Ransum Basal + 250 mg/kg MEBM, P4= Ransum Basal +375 mg/kg MEBM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian mikrokapsul ekstrak buah mengkudu berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap jumlah eritrosit dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan nilai hematokrit ayam Sentul. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah pemberian MEBM sampai taraf 250 mg/kg pakan dapat menggantikan penggunaan AGP dan mampu mempertahankan jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit ayam Sentul pada kisaran normal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of variety on high plants and node of corn forage by knowing which varieties of corn gave the highest yield to plant heigt and node of corn forage. This research was conducted from February – April 2022 located in experimental garden in Forage Crop Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran. This study used experimental method with randomized block design (RBD). There were four treatments used P1 = Bonanza varieties, P2 = Janisa varieties, P3= Asian 86 varieties and P4 = Sweet Lady varieties with six replications. The observed variables included plant height and node of corn plants. The result of statistical showed that the treatment of various varieties of corn had significant effect on plant height, and produced the highest plant height varieties of Janisa which is 175,42 cm, varieties of Bonanza which is 172,18 cm and varieties of Asia which is 161,58 cm and showed had no significant (P>0.05) on node of corn plants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai imbangan rumput Gajah Taiwan (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Taiwan) dan konsentrat terhadap kecernaan serat kasar dan bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN) pada domba Garut jantan dewasa. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode ekperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, perlakuan dirancang sebagai berikut : (1) imbangan 80% rumput vs 20% konsentrat (P1), (2) imbangan 60% rumput vs 40% konsentrat (P2), (3) imbangan 40% rumput vs 60% konsentrat (P3), tiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 (enam) kali. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dan uji jarak berganda Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa imbangan rumput Gajah Taiwan (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Taiwan) dan konsentrat memberikan pengaruh berbeda tidak nyata terhadap kecernaan serat kasar dan BETN dan imbangan 40% rumput vs 60% konsentrat menghasilkan angka kecernaan serat kasar dan BETN berturut-turut sebesar 57,81% dan 73,40%. Kata kunci: Rumput Gajah, konsentrat, kecernaan, serat kasar, BETN, domba Garut jantan

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian  pakan suplemen dalam ransum lengkap terhadap status faali pedet sapi perah yang dipelihara BPPIBTSP Bunikasih dan mengetahui perlakuan mana yang memberikan status faali terbaik dalam kisaran normal. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 periode. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0= 65% Hijauan + 35% K0 (100% konsentrat); P1= 65% Hijauan + 35% K1 (97% konsentrat + 3% protein bypass); P2= 65% Hijauan + 35% K2 (95% konsentrat+ 3% protein bypass+ 2% Ca-PUFA); P3= 65% Hijauan + 35% K3 (93% konsentrat + 3% protein bypass+ 2% Ca-PUFA+ 2% mineral organik). Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA), Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan dan korelasi dengan metode Pearson Correlation. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap status faali. Selanjutnya terdapat korelasi positif antara status faali dengan nilai Temperature Humidity Index

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of microcapsules of noni fruit extract as a feed additive to replace AGP on blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in Sentul chickens.. The research was done from April until July 2022. The method used experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the effect of treatment was using Analysis of Variance then followed by Duncan test. The treatments consisted of 5 types with 4 repetitions, those are P0 = Basal feed that did not contain microcapsules of noni fruit extract, P1 = Basal feed + 50 mg/kg zinc bacitracin, P2 = Basal feed + 125 mg/kg noni fruit extract microcapsules, P3 = Basal feed + 250 mg/kg noni fruit extract microcapsules, and P4 = Basal feed + 375 mg/kg noni fruit extract microcapsules. Samples test was held in Physiology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Animal Husbandry, University of Padjadjaran. The observed variables were blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The results showed that the effect of giving noni fruit extract microcapsules non significant effect (P>0.05) on reducing blood cholesterol levels, but was significant (P<0.05) on reducing blood triglyceride levels. The conclusion of the research that giving of noni fruit extract microcapsules as a feed additive with levels of 125 mg/kg could replace AGP in reduce blood triglyceride levels, but could not decrease blood cholesterol levels in Sentul chickens.
