Abstract

In the face of global dynamics and growing Muslim consumer awareness of halal products, as well as environmental concerns, the integration of the Halal Supply Chain, sustainability principles, ecological ethics, and Maqasid Syariah (the principles of Islamic law) is becoming increasingly important. The method used is a literature review, which examines research results to provide a comprehensive overview of the development and position of this research compared to existing research. This integration of concepts is intended to encourage macro policies related to the halal industry and will organize micro areas related to company or business actor practices. This article aims to illustrate the interrelationship of these concepts within a mutually supportive strategic framework, resulting in the formulation of an integrated model that not only meets halal standards but is also socially and environmentally responsible within the corridor of Islamic values. The implications can increase consumer trust, strengthen brand image, expand market access, and contribute to sustainable development.

Abstract

This study investigates the integration of Islamic values into the economic roles of women by focusing on Muslim women motorcycle taxi drivers (Ojek Syariah Muslimah or OJESY) in Indonesia. The objective is to examine the contribution of OJESY drivers’ income to household economies and the meanings associated with their work within an Islamic value framework. Using a phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed narratively to explore drivers’ motivations, income management strategies, and the balance between domestic and public roles. The findings indicate that OJESY drivers make significant contributions to household welfare by financing children’s education, increasing savings, and improving household assets. Participants perceive their work as morally safe and sharia-compliant, which fosters a sense of tranquility and strengthens social legitimacy. Despite these benefits, challenges remain, including income instability, the dual burden of work and family responsibilities, and limited access to social protection. The study recommends enhancing community-based support, expanding sharia-compliant entrepreneurial training, and integrating social protection mechanisms for informal workers on digital platforms. By framing OJESY within the context of maqasid al-sharia, particularly in preserving family welfare, the study contributes to the discourse on gender-inclusive Islamic economics and proposes policy innovations for sustainable and inclusive economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Taspen Authentication application in improving pension customer satisfaction at PT Bank Mandiri Taspen Baturaja Branch Office (KCP). This application is designed to facilitate the digital pension fund payment process through facial and voice authentication, which is expected to accelerate service and reduce the need for physical customer presence. Descriptive qualitative methods were used to obtain data through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies with key participants, namely employees and pension customers. The results show that the application generally simplifies access and accelerates the fund disbursement process, increasing efficiency and user satisfaction. However, the application's effectiveness is still hampered by technical constraints such as the sensitivity of the biometric system and network disruptions during peak transaction times, as well as external factors such as low technological literacy, physical limitations, and language barriers among elderly users. The study recommends the development of a more adaptive biometric system, increased network capacity, intensive training for users, and the provision of manual services as an alternative for customers who are unable to use digital applications. These findings strengthen the literature on digital technology adaptation in the pension services sector and serve as an important reference for the development of an adaptive and sustainable inclusive digital service strategy at PT Bank Mandiri Taspen.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the impact of the implementation of E-Government on employee performance in the Sawahan District of Surabaya, considering the moderating effects of age and gender. E-Government is regarded as a significant innovation in enhancing the efficiency and transparency of public services. The study employs a quantitative approach, utilising data collection techniques through questionnaires distributed to 100 employees in the Sawahan District. Data analysis is conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The findings of this research conclude that the implementation of E-Government significantly enhances employee performance in the Sawahan District. Age may act as a factor that weakens this influence, whereas gender may serve to strengthen it. Recommendations for future research include expanding the sample size and considering specific training for older employees to improve their adaptation to technology. The limitations of this study include a sample that is confined solely to employees in the Sawahan District, which may not represent the entire population of employees in Surabaya or other regions, as well as an imbalanced proportion of age and gender. It is suggested that future research involve a more diverse sample and implement training programmes for older employees to facilitate better adaptation to the E-Government system.
