Abstract

Education institutions must implement Islamic character education on a massive scale immediately. This study aims to describe the concept and implementation of character education in educational institutions to address student association issues without delay. This investigation is library-based (library research). The obtained data were then analyzed with a hermeneutic approach through content analysis. This study concludes that the concept of character education has been taught in Islam for quite some time. The verses of the Qur'an and hadith explain this. Similar to Surah Luqman verses 17 and 18, as well as the hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslims from the path of Abdullah bin Amr bin Ash's companions. Implementing Islamic character education in educational institutions can be categorized initially by age range, from early childhood to adolescence. To evaluate the success of Islamic character education in specific educational institutions, class-based, school-based, and community-based Islamic character education must be implemented. The implication for educational institutions is a greater emphasis on Islamic character education beginning at a young age so that students develop Islamic character. This study contributes to advancing and implementing Islamic character education in educational institutions.

Abstract

Parenting is a fundamental tool for the future development of children. Every parent is expected to be able to apply good parenting to their children. However, in reality, not all parents can carry out good parenting. The topic of study about parenting is still an interesting study to date. In this study, researchers examined parenting styles in families prone to radicalism in case studies of Salafi families who were ex-Laskar Jihad. This article examines parenting styles in these families and the factors that influence them. The method in this research is qualitative with a descriptive-analytic model. The research approach is a case study. The study results show that the parents in the family adopt different parenting styles for each child based on their characteristics. For the first child, parents tend to apply authoritarian parenting. For children second to seventh, parents use a democratic-permissive parenting style. As for the last two children, the parents adopted a permissive-authoritarian parenting style. As for religious indoctrination, parents are very authoritarian. The point is to instill religious understanding following what parents want. This research contributes to the importance of parenting in the family, especially in preventing radicalism through an Islamic education approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine educational thought in the Islamic view according to Al-Attas and Robert Meynard Hutchins and to combine the thoughts of the two figures. This research will use a type of library research with qualitative, comparative, and descriptive research approaches. In the collection of primary sources, this research refers to the educational thought of Al-Attas in the book Philosophy and Practice of Islamic Education Syed M. Naquib Al-Attas by Wan. Mohd. Nor Wan David and the educational thought of Robert Maynard Hutchins in the book Suing Anarchist Liberal Conservative Fundamentalist Education by authors Paulo Freire, Ivan Illich, Erich Fromm et al. The result of the study is that there are similarities and differences between the educational thinking of Al-Attas and Hutchins.  The similarity is that both of them prioritize scientific studies in reconstructing science. While the difference is that Al-Attas as a Muslim always returns all world affairs to the Qur'an and Sunnah, as well as education, Al-Attas refers to the Qur'an and Sunnah as educational references. Meanwhile, Hutchins has a view of the world of education through the experience of educational phenomena that occur in the environment around which he lives. The contribution of this research is to enrich the study of the thinking of Muslim and Western figures in the world of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the urgency of learning fiqh ubudiyah using the Book of Fathul Qarib in Islamic boarding schools Alhikmah 2 Benda Sirampog Brebes. Fiqh ubudiyah refers to the understanding and application of Islamic laws in the context of devotion and obedience performed by individual Muslims to Allah Almighty. The Book of Fathul Qarib was chosen as one of the reference sources because it provides a deep understanding of the principles of fiqh and the procedures of worship in Islam. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach in several Islamic boarding schools that have adopted the learning of fiqh ubudiyah using the Book of Fathul Qarib. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and analysis of documents related to the curriculum and teaching methods used. The results showed that learning fiqh ubudiyah with the Book of Fathul Qarib has significant urgency in Islamic boarding schools. This learning helps students in understanding and apply Islamic laws in everyday life with the perspective of ubudiyah, which is a form of devotion and obedience to Allah SWT. The use of Kitab Fathul Qarib as a reference source also allows students to learn the principles of fiqh comprehensively, including the correct worship procedures. In addition, learning fiqh ubudiyah with the Book of Fathul Qarib also has other positive impacts, such as increasing the spiritual and moral awareness of Alhikmah 2 Benda Sirampog Brebes students, strengthening ties with true Islamic teachings, and forming a noble and responsible character. This study recommends that other Islamic boarding schools also adopt fiqh ubudiyah learning by using the Book of Fathul Qarib as an effort to enrich learning methods and strengthen the religious foundation of santri. Abstract

In Islam, the concept of inclusive education is an important and timely topic that addresses the need for equitable and inclusive education for all individuals, regardless of ability, gender, social status, or background. This study aims to explore the research landscape on Inclusive Education in Islamic Educational Contexts with bibliometric methods. Data was collected with the Publish or Perish (PoP) application from a crossref database and then analyzed with the VosViewer application involving 200 databases. The surprising finding in this study is the absence of connection strength in this analysis may imply that the authors did not collaborate or connect in the dataset. In this study, authors have not connected, thus researchers in this field should build scientific links between authors and research issues. The study also shows that the clusters demonstrate how numerous factors, including national, religious, societal, and educational aspects, affect inclusive education in these locations. The clusters show that inclusive education in Islamic educational contexts is influenced by practical, policy, stakeholder, theoretical, and philosophical aspects, such as Islamic values, beliefs, and teachings and the requirements of learners with disabilities. The study emphasizes the need for equitable and inclusive education for all individuals, aligning with the principles and teachings of Islam that promote equality, dignity, and social justice. It sheds light on the contemporary relevance of inclusive education in Islamic educational settings and raises awareness of the significance of addressing the diverse needs of learners, including those with disabilities.
