Abstract

ABSTRACT Particle board research continues to be carried out to obtain the right formulation (effective and efficient), both in terms of raw materials and adhesive formulas. The purpose of this study was to determine the nature of particle board from the use of rubber wood powder and rice husk as raw material for particle board with varying levels of phenol formaldehyde adhesive in the manufacture of particle board. This study uses factorial analysis where the first factor is the variation of raw material composition of rubber wood powder and rice husk (75:25%; 50:50%; 25:75%), while the second factor is the variation of phenol formaldehyde adhesive content (6%; 8 %; 10%). This analysis was carried out in a completely randomized design (CRD) with three repetitions. The resulting particleboard was then tested for its physical and mechanical properties according to the JIS A 5908-2003 standard. The results showed that variations in the composition of the raw materials of rubber sawdust and rice husk had a significant effect on moisture content, Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture, Internal Bond and screw holding strength. Variations in the adhesive content of phenol formaldehyde have a significant effect on density, moisture content, thickness expansion, water absorption, Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture, Internal Bond and screw holding strength. The interaction of variations in the composition of rubber wood sawdust and rice husks has a significant effect on the Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture and screw holding strength. Overall, particleboard with the best properties is particleboard with a composition of 75:25% rubber: husk and 10% Phenol Formaldehyde adhesive content, but for the production of 8% phenol formaldehyde adhesive, it is quite good. Keywords: Particle board; Phenol formaldehyde; Rice husk; Rubber wood ABSTRAK Penelitian papan partikel terus dilakukan untuk mendapatkan formulasi yang tepat (efektif dan efisien), baik dari segi bahan baku maupun formula perekat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sifat papan partikel dari pemanfaatan serbuk kayu karet dan sekam padi sebagai bahan baku papan partikel dengan variasi kadar perekat phenol formaldehida dalam pembuatan papan partikel. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis faktorial dimana faktor pertama berupa variasi komposisi bahan baku serbuk kayu karet dan sekam padi (75:25%; 50:50%; 25:75%), sedangkan faktor kedua adalah variasi kadar perekat phenol formaldehida (6%; 8%; 10%). Analisis ini dilakukan dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga kali pengulangan. Papan partikel yang dihasilkan kemudian diuji sifat fisis maupun mekanisnya menurut standar JIS A 5908-2003. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi komposisi bahan baku serbuk kayu karet dan sekam padi memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kadar air, Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture, Internal Bond dan kuat pegang sekrup. Variasi kadar perekat phenol formaldehida memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap kerapatan, kadar air, pengembangan tebal, daya serap air, Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture, Internal Bond dan kuat pegang sekrup. Interaksi dari variasi komposisi bahan baku serbuk kayu karet dan sekam padi memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap Modulus of Elasticity, Modulus of Rupture dan kuat pegang sekrup. Secara keseluruhan papan partikel yang memiliki sifat terbaik adalah papan partikel dengan komposisi bahan baku karet:sekam 75:25% dengan kadar perekat phenol formaldehida sebesar 10%, namun untuk produksi kadar perekat phenol formaldehida 8% sudah cukup baik. Abstract

The amount of solid waste generation in Indonesia is projected to increase along with the increase in population. The government has been developing various efforts to reduce and handle solid waste, including household waste and the like, through regulations and policies. This paper provides an overview of solid waste management on the household scale to support the reduction of waste generation. A literature review was carried out on data and information collection that regarding solid waste management. Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 18 Tahun 2008 regulates the urgency and mechanism of solid waste management to improve public health and environmental quality and make waste become a resource. Public awareness and paradigm shift in waste management are essential to make it realize. The application of a zero-waste lifestyle with the concept of reduce, reuse, and recycle (3R) is a kind of community involvement. The emergence of the waste bank (bank sampah) also becomes community-based waste management activity as well as a facility of education and behavior shift in waste management. The waste bank was able to contribute to the national waste reduction and contribute to improving the community's economy. The lifestyles have changed, all levels of society get used to living a zero-waste. All of those are to get clean Indonesia by 2025.

Abstract

The existence of community forests provides many benefits both ecologically and economically for the community, so that it can create sustainable community forest development. Community forest consists of various types of systems or one of them is a model of agroforestry community forest system. Public forest agroforestry patterns have the function of being able to maintain food production, especially by slowing down nutrient and energy losses, and resisting the destructive power of water, wind, floods and landslides and can increase economic income. The purpose of this study was to look at the income of community forest farming agroforestry patterns and to see the sustainable status of community forests in agroforestry patterns. The income analysis used by using the equation of farming and sustainable income analysis using the Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) approach with the Rap-Pforest (Rapid Appraisal for Private-Forest) program. Abstract

The purpose of this study to analyze the social economic model behavior in the land utilization of in the Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS). The sampling method in this study using the Snowball Sampling method and obtained in both villages as many as 50 respondents as the head of the family. This type of research uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data analysis technique in this research is multiple linear regression using primary and secondary data obtained through structured interviews (questionnaires) with farmer farmer respondents. The results of the analysis conducted show that social economic factors together have a significant effect.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the results of trials of the effectiveness of the use of camera traps in knowing the problems and constraints that can be used in developing strategies and solutions to the problem of using camera traps for Sumatran tigers. Number of camera traps installed as many as 14 cameras. Installation of camera traps is distinguished by three mounting heights of soil that is 35 cm, 40 cm, 45 cm. Data analysis is done to collect data recording every camera trap with Sumatran tiger object. The results showed that there were 4 trap camera units that successfully recorded the Sumatran tiger, with the most effective recording activity of Sumatran tiger is at 45 cm height with 86%. There are 4 trap camera units that suffered damage and loss. The most effective mounting height in the recording process is the height of the 45 cm installation with 60% comparison.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is a type of plantation plant that occupies an important position in the agricultural sector in general and the plantation sector in particular. Management that regulates and manages the implementation of a process or an activity properly can obtain effective and efficient benefits. Production can be optimal with good management, in helping the availability of nutrients in the soil. This research aims to examine and compare the organic matter content and production in several oil palm management systems. The research was carried out at the BSU 4 (Berkat Sawit Utama) Oil Palm Plantation Afdeling II Bungku Village, Bajubang District, Batanghari Regency. This research took place within 6 months, starting from February to July 2019 Purposive sampling (deliberately plotting) in the area of several oil palm management systems (terraces, empty palm oil bunches, and inorganic fertilizers) with an oil palm age of 17 years (planting year 2003) and with the same (order) Ultisol. The observed soil parameters were soil organic matter (C-organic) and soil pH. The production parameters observed were the number of bunches, weight of FFB, and BJR (average weight of leaves). The terracing management system + anorganic fertilizer and JJKS + anorganic fertilizer were able to increase soil organic matter content and FFB production, where the highest total FFB production was found in the terracing management system + inorganic fertilizer with the production average bunch weight (BJR) 21.3 kg. ABSTRAK Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman perkebunan yang menempati posisi penting dalam sektor pertanian pada umumnya dan sektor perkebunan pada khususnya. Manajemen yang mengatur dan mengelola pelaksanaan suatu proses atau kegiatan dengan baik dapat memperoleh manfaat yang efektif dan efisien. Produksi dapat optimal dengan pengelolaan yang baik, dalam membantu ketersediaan unsur hara dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan membandingkan kandungan bahan organik dan produksi pada beberapa sistem pengelolaan kelapa sawit. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit BSU 4 (Berkat Sawit Utama) Afdeling II Desa Bungku, Kecamatan Bajubang, Kabupaten Batanghari. Penelitian ini berlangsung selama 6 bulan, terhitung mulai bulan Februari sampai Juli 2019 Purposive sampling (sengaja plotting) di areal beberapa sistem pengelolaan kelapa sawit (teras, tandan kosong kelapa sawit, dan pupuk anorganik) dengan umur kelapa sawit 17 tahun ( tahun tanam 2003) dan dengan (ordo) Ultisol yang sama. Parameter tanah yang diamati adalah bahan organik tanah (C-organik) dan pH tanah. Parameter produksi yang diamati adalah jumlah tandan, berat TBS, dan BJR (berat rata-rata daun). Sistem pengelolaan terasering + pupuk anorganik dan JJKS + pupuk anorganik mampu meningkatkan kandungan bahan organik tanah dan produksi TBS, dimana total produksi TBS tertinggi terdapat pada sistem pengelolaan terasering + pupuk anorganik dengan berat tandan rata-rata produksi (BJR) 21,3 kg. Abstract

ABSTRACT                    Merbau is a tree that produces very high quality of hardwood. The quality of land merbau wood is currently increasingly scarce, this is due to illegal logging in various places, so it is necessary to carry out plant cultivation efforts for sustainable forest development. Efforts to conserve land merbau need to be done by providing good quality seeds. To increase the success of the nursery, it is necessary to carry out special treatments, one of which is the addition of fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of giving the best dose of NPK fertilizer and the best dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth of ground merbau seedlings. This research was conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jambi University, for 4 months using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 levels of treatment with 5 replications each. Each treatment unit consisted of 4 plants and one of them was a destructive sample plant, so 100 plants were obtained. The results showed that the effect of application of NPK fertilizer (15-15-15) increased plant height growth, number of leaves, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, root shoot ratio and total dry weight. Treatment of different doses of NPK fertilizer gave different effects on the growth of merbau plants and gave the best results at a dose of 8 g/polybag. Keywords: merbau land, NPK fertilizer, nursery   ABSTRAK Merbau adalah pohon penghasil kayu keras yang sangat berkualitas tinggi. Kualitas kayu Merbau darat saat ini semakin langka hal ini disebabkan karena terjadinya penebangan liar diberbagai tempat, sehingga perlu dilakukannya upaya budidaya tanaman untuk pembangunan hutan yang lestari. Upaya dalam pelestarian Merbau darat perlu dilakukan dengan cara penyediaan bibit yang berkualitas baik. Untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan pembibitan perlu dilakukannya perlakuan-perlakuan khusus salah satunya dengan penambahan pupuk. Tujuan dari penelitain ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian dosis pupuk NPK dan dosis pupuk NPK terbaik pada pertumbuhan bibit merbau darat. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Lahan percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi, selama 4 bulan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan dengan masing-masing ulangan 5 kali. Setiap satuan perlakuan terdiri dari 4 tanaman dan salah satunya tanaman sampel destruktif maka di peroleh 100 tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengaruh pemberian pupuk NPK (15-15-15) meningkatkan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat kering tajuk, berat kering akar, rasio pucuk akar dan berat kering total. Perlakuan dosis pupuk NPK yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman Merbau darat dan memberikan hasil terbaik pada dosis 8 g/polybag.   Kata Kunci: merbau darat, pupuk NPK, pembibitan

Abstract

ABSTRACT             Rimbo Bulim customary forest management cannot be separated from the involvement of indigenous peoples who have roles as law enforcers and supervisors. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of customary institutions, whether they are running well and effectively and whether they have a positive or negative impact on the sustainability of customary forests. The results of the study stated that since the formation of the customary forest management group (KPHA) in 2013 until now, the existence of customary forests has improved, as evidenced by the absence of illegal logging and land clearing activities without permits, this can also be seen in the implementation of mutually agreed sanctions. The existence of traditional institutions is able to control the community around the forest.   Keywords:  Traditional institutions, forest management, local community, customary  sanctions   ABSTRAK Pengelolaan hutan adat Rimbo Bulim tidak terlepas dari keterlibatan masyarakat hukum adat yang memiliki peran sebagai penegak aturan dan pengawas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas lembaga adat apakah sudah berjalan dengan baik dan efektif dan apakah memberikan dampak positif atau negatif terhadap kelestarian hutan adat. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa semenjak dibentuknya kelompok pengelola hutan adat (KPHA) tahun 2013 hingga saat ini, keberadaan hutan adat sudah mengalami perbaikan  terbukti sudah tidak adanya kegiatan perambahan dan pembukaan lahan tanpa izin, hal ini juga dapat dilihat berlakunya sanksi yang telah disepakati bersama. Abstract

ABSTRACT                Duku (Lansium domesticum) has become the flagship fruit of Jambi and is widely planted and becomes a source of income for farmers. In the last 5 years, around 310,828 trees have been damaged, that is, they die and die. In natural conditions, duku jambi plants are often flooded. Thus, conditions of hypoxia or anoxia are often experienced by the root system of plants. This limited O2 condition can affect the growing environment of the duku plant which in turn will affect the growth, development, and survival of the plant due to a decrease in energy. The method used is a field survey and takes environmental and soil data. Observations of duku plants and other vegetation include: the number of clumps, the number of duku individuals according to the growth phase, the type of vegetation, the number of individual species found in each sample unit, and the coverage area. . Based on the results obtained, it can be seen that the highest density is found in the Kelopak Alai area with the highest density value being the duku tree of 325, and the highest frequency is found in the area of ​​the Karang City area with the highest frequency value being the duku tree of 87.50, while for dominance The highest value is found in the village of Olak Rambahan with the highest dominance value is the duku tree of 3300,955. Keywords : Duku, Bioecological, Death On  ABSTRAK  Duku (Lansium domesticum) sudah menjadi buah unggulan Jambi banyak ditanam dan menjadi sumber pendapatan petani. Dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun terakhir sekitar 310.828 pohon mengalami kerusakan yaitu mati meranggas. Pada kondisi alami, tanaman duku jambi sering tergenang air. Dengan demikian, kondisi hipoksia atau anoksia sering dialami oleh sistem perakaran tanaman. Kondisi O2 yang terbatas ini dapat mempengaruhi lingkungan tumbuh tanaman duku yang pada gilirannya akan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kelangsungan hidup tanaman karena terjadi penurunan energi. Metode yang digunakan adalah survey lapangan dan mengambi data lingkungan dan tanah, Pengamatan tanaman duku dan vegetasi lain meliputi : jumlah rumpun, jumlah individu duku menurut fase pertumbuhan, jenis vegetasi, jumlah individu spesies yang kedapatan pada setiap unit contoh, dan luas tutupan (coverage). Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat terlihat bahwa Kerapatan tertinggi terdapat di daerah Kelopak Alai dengan nilai kerapatan yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 325, dan Frekuensi tertinggi terdapat di daerah di daerah Kota Karang dengan nilai frekuensi yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 87,50, sedangkan untuk Dominansi tertinggi terdapat di daerah desa Olak Rambahan dengan nilai dominansi yang tertinggi adalah pohon duku sebesar 3300,955. Abstract

ABSTRACTHoney is a food ingredient that has high nutritional value. The quality of honey varies greatly depending on the source of the honey-producing bees (Apis mellifera, Apis dorsata, and Trigona sp.). Data related to the quality of honey produced from these 3 types of bees have not been explored and are easily obtained widely. Though this data is very important to determine the use and utilization of honey appropriately. This study aims to analyze the quality of honey from 3 types of honey-producing bees. Honey samples from 3 species Apis mellifera, Apis dorsata, and Trigona sp. Chemical and physical tests were carried out 5 replicates for each sample. The test results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed a chemical test with water content test parameters. The honey acidity test parameters, reducing sugar content test, ash content test, water insoluble solids test were in accordance with (Indonesia National Standard) SNI. Meanwhile, for the water content parameter, only Apis mellifera was suitable. Meanwhile, in the sucrose test, only Trigona sp. which does not meet SNI. Keywords: honey, bee, species, quality ABSTRAKMadu adalah bahan pangan yang mempunyai khasiat tinggi yang kaya akan nutrisi. Mutu madu sangat beragam bergantung pada sumber jenis lebah penghasil madu (Apis mellifera, Apis dorsata, dan Trigona sp.). Data terkait kualitas madu yang dihasilkan dari 3 jenis lebah ini belum tergali dan mudah didapatkan secara luas. Padahal data ini sangat penting untuk menentukan penggunaan dan pemanfaatan madu secara tepat guna. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisi kualitas madu dari 3 jenis lebah penghasil madu. Sampel madu dari 3 spesies Apis mellifera, Apis dorsata, dan Trigona sp. diuji kimia dan fisik dilakukan 5 ulangan setiap sampel. Hasil pengujian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan uji kimia dengan parameter uji kadar air. Parameter uji keasaman madu, uji kadar gula reduksi, uji kadar abu, uji padatan tak larut dalam air sesuai dengan stanadar nasional indoensia (SNI). Sedangkan pada parameter kadar air hanya Apis mellifera yang sesuai. Sedangkan pada uji sukrosa hanya madu Trigona sp. yang tidak memenuhi SNI. Kata kunci: madu, lebah, spesies, kualitas
