Abstract

Clean oil tank is one of the equipment at the station clarification shaped cylindrical tank with a cone at the bottom. The function of clean oil tanks is to reduce the amount of dirt that is still contained in the oil depositionly. At the bottom there is a clean oil tank valve for the disposal of sewage sludge. The use of pneumatic valve system with loading time can be set on a time delay relay. The research method is done by testing samples at the laboratory scale by depositing the sample ex CST with temperature 85oC, then analyzed manure content reduction. Decreased levels of these impurities is assumed as the level of impurities that can settle to the bottom clean oil tank. Based on the data that has been obtained, to analyze the test results and the data is then processed using a simple mathematical model in order to know the optimal timing of valve setting autodrain on clean oil tank 1 and 2 during processing.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a automotive company with raw material ordered from a local company and imported. This study is focused on the imported components as the CKD (Completely Knock Down). Based on the data of December 2014 and January 2015, that the sale of PT. XYZ was not constant, but it fluctuatively per period. Problem was encountered on the phenomenon of dynamic demand is associated with determining operating stock and how to obtain a solution. The purpose of this study was to determine the economical lot size ordering and when to do a order. The Silver-Meal method was used to optimation order. Result from this study is that the economical lot size is equal to the number of demand and order which is done routinely in accordance with the lead time.

Abstract

The energy balance in the composition of methane gas is the result of mass changes from a gaseous mass to another mass (calorie and other mass) from the burning of methane gas in the Gas-Steam Power Plant system. The result of the combustion of methane will produce heat and waste products of combustion such as carbon dioxide, moisture, oxygen, and nitrogen. The calorie produced is used in the power plant system, while the waste of the result of combustion are released into the environment. The balance of energy in the combustion of methane gas have calorific, enthalpy and entropy values. The methane gas that will be changing from the gas into heat energy and combustion results done by the provision of a high temperature so that the methane exceeds the threshold value. The methane gas that goes into the power plant system will be changed by the heat energy that has been formed to drive a gas turbine and heat water in the boiler to drive a steam turbine. The result of the combustion of methane gas is used to drive the power plant that had been planned. The combustion of methane gas with an average composition of methane 22.8 Kg/s and oxygen at 6.7 Kg/s would produce a balance in the oven for 22.8 CO2; 45.6 H2O; – 38.9 O2; 25.192 N2. The calorific value and X destroyed formed amounted to 1,156,425.1 KJ/s; 3,829,334.1328 MJ/Kmol CH4.

Abstract

Reason to stop working (resign) even though the company was already providing the best to its employees. This is experienced by PT "X" one of the oil palm plantation companies which have problems in keeping staff turnover. Therefore, it is necessary to do a research study to determine the factors that influence the occurrence causing employee turnover in PT "X". Percentage of turnover of employees at PT “X” that occurred in 2013 was 2.49%. Causes of employee turnover, among others: family, job satisfaction, retirement, career development, continuing ideals delayed, health, workload overload, got a better offer, location work. Turnover impact: cost losses during the process of recruitment and training, the activity delayed/lost so required over time. Make efforts to improve the system of clear working procedures, provide appropriate compensation for employee performance, system clear career path, develop competence and ability of employees.

Abstract

Humans want to live together help each other, mutual assistance, and mutual respect that is expected with better education, ie the quality of education. Globalization contains various contradictions by John Naisbitt, are: 1) The global culture as opposed to the local culture; 2) Univesal opposite with individual; 3) Traditional opposite to modern; 4) Long-Term opposite to short-term; 5) The competition contrary to the equal opportunities; 6) Limited human intellect opposite to the explosion of science and technology; and 7) Spiritual opposite to material. The idea of ​​"Global Governance" due to concerns about the earth's humans that require maintenance so that balanced development. Globalization accelerated with the remarkable growth of the mass media by telecommunications considered eliminating geographic boundaries of the country. The threat of globalization but nationalism is not largely determined by its internal problems are of political, economic, social, cultural, defense and homeland security. Abstract

Nutrient availability in the soil is influenced by soil physical and chemical properties. Cation exchange capacity (CEC), base saturation (BS), content of organic C, degree of soil acidity (pH) and C/N ratio are some chemical properties of growing media which can be an indicator of the availability of nutrients to the growing media and fertility growing media. Use of subsoil has not been done because the nutrient content is low. The addition of mycorrhizae and liquid fertilizer derived from banana tree corm could affect the decomposition of organic matter and nutrient supply to the growing media so that nutrients are absorbed by plants is high. The results showed that the observation of 3 MAP, the highest CEC value, amounting to 15 cmolc/kg achieved in P4 treatment. The growing media with liquid fertilizer and mycorrhizal banana tree stump showed that the highest CEC value is 12.72 cmolc/Kg achieved by treatment P6. Application of liquid fertilizer and mycorrhizal banana corm to the growing media subsoil and manure mixture has a C/N ratio 14, higher than the C/N ratio in the same planting medium without giving liquid fertilizer and mycorrhizal banana tree corm, ie 12. The dry weight oil palm seedlings highest in treatment P4.

Abstract

Weed control is based on the technical culture in terms of the ecology of plants and weeds, where control is aimed to create conditions favorable environment for plant growth, but detrimental to weeds. Mulching is one of weed control in technical culture which can utilize organic material around the area of ​​cultivation. This study aimed to get an alternative organic materials that can be used as mulch for weed control. The experimental design used was completely randomized design non factorial with two replications. The treatments tested were the provision of various types of mulch of organic material. The results showed that the provision of various types of organic material as mulch significantly affect the ability to grow and dry weight of weeds. Mulch is best found in rice husks and did not differ significantly by mulching oil palm fronds, dried leaves, plastic and sacks. Mulching with organic materials to effectively control various weeds in the cultivation area because it can inhibit weed to get the elements needed. Mulching organic produce growing power of weeds that are not significantly different from anorganic mulch used is sacks and plastic.

Abstract

The increasing concentration of carbon in the atmosphere is a serious environmental problem that can affect living systems on earth. The increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused global warming. The impact of global warming will affect the world climate change and rising sea levels. Climate change will disrupt farming systems in both the micro and macro scale. Estimation of forest carbon emissions is one of the important efforts to reduce climate change. Land clearing for oil palm plantations will affect the carbon stored in the forest reserves. This study aims to determine the carbon stocks stored in oil palm in each age group on the type of red-yellow podzolic soil in Oil Palm Plantation PT Daria Dharma Pratama Bengkulu. Method of measuring the carbon content of oil palm biomass using non-destructive method with allometric equations. Measurement of biomass carbon content stored conducted in every age group of plants. The result showed the content of carbon stored in plants palm largest (carbon biomass) on red-yellow podzolic soil in PT DDP Oil Palm Plantations are in the age group 11-15 years was 65.89 ton/ha. Then a row in the age group 16-20 years was 51.74 ton/ha, the age group> 20 years of 33.07 ton/ha, the age group 6-10 years at 31.86 ton/ha, and the age group 0-5 years of 1.61 ton/ha. Carbon content stored on palm influenced by plant age, and the growth and development of plants. Group relationship with the age of the plant oil palm biomass carbon content tend to show a sigmoid pattern. Growth and development of oil palm plantations is affected by the physical properties and chemical soil.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang aplikasi abu boiler pada media tanam pre nursery pada bibit kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) dilakukan pada tanggal 3 November 2013 – 26 Januari 2014 di kampus Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi, Desa Cibuntu, Kecamatan Cibitung, Kabupaten Bekasi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis dampak pemanfaatan abu boiler sebagai media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit di pembibitan awal (pre-nursery). Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi bibit, diameter batang dan jumlah daun bibit kelapa sawit. Interval pengamatan dilakukan pada 4 MST, 8 MST dan 12 MST. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah adalah dengan komposisi media tanam: (A) abu boiler 0% + Top soil 100%; (B) abu boiler 50% + top soil 50%; dan (C) abu boiler 100% + top soil 0%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pertumbuhan dari setiap perlakuan. Pada 12 MST didapatkan tinggi tanaman pada perlakuan A, B dan C berturut-turut adalah 21,6 cm; 19;50 cm dan 17,40 cm dan diameter batang 1,11 cm; 0.94 cm; dan 0.78 cm, serta jumlah daun 4,8; 4,0 dan 3,2. Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa nilai pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, diameter batang maupun jumlah daun bibit kelapa sawit pada perlakuan A, yaitu pada media tanam dengan top soil 100% masih lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan B (abu boiler 50% + top soil 50%) dan C (abu boiler 100%).

Abstract

The design of automatic equipment draining using a solenoid valve and time delay relay is a innovation at the Palm Oil Mill (POM) regarding the draining work that exists in POM. Draining is the disposal of the resulting material from sediment formed from the deposition process at the clarification station, which is a routine work that must be done, but most operators do not routinely do it, because generally it is still done manually in the POM in Indonesia. Non-routine sand removal will cause several problems, ie sand is abrasive to equipment/machinery, decreases processing efficiency, and reduces processing capacity because the process space is filled with sand. So from that the design is made based on the problem, where the drain drain can be done automatically with the use of a solenoid valve, and the discharge time can be set using time delay relay. Based on the results of the research conducted, the adjustment times for Timer 1, 2 and 3 are obtained, namely 177 seconds, 10 seconds and 88 seconds. The total time will be wasted as much as 1,570 cm3 of water which is in the tool building.
