Abstract

Eucalyptus pellita  is fast growing species and have many advantages such as: pulp and paper industry raw material, building construction, charcoal, and medicine.  The research was carried out to study plant morphogenesis from shoot explant of E. pellita F. Muell by in vitro technique. The experiment was conducted at Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty of Mulawarman University from March until June, 2016.Single factor experiment was arranged in Completely Randomized Design with 10 replications.  The factor was BAP concentrations (B) consisted of 1.00 mg BAP L-1 (b1); 2.00 mg BAP L-1 (b2); 3.00 mg BAP L-1 (b3); and 4,00 mg BAP L-1 (b4). The explants was innoculated on MS medium supplemented with BAP according to the treatments. Data analyzed by analysis of variance (anova) and continued by Least Significant Difference  (LSD) test  with level 5%. Results of the experiment showed that the BAP concentrations can promote shoot formation of E. pellita.  Statistical analysis indicated that the  effect of BAP concentrations significantly difference on number of shoots at 8 weeks after innoculation (WAI), shoot length, and number of leaves at  4; 6; and 8 WAI, however it’s no significantly difference on shoot formation time and number of shoots at 4 and 6 WAI.  The highest number of shoots,  shoot length, and number of leaves achieved by 4,00 mg BAP L-1.

Abstract

Karawang is a rice center in West Java and National, rice straw potentially used as a media for merang mushroom to grow. In research, tofu pulp planting media was carried out and tested the productivity of the merang mushroom F3 seedlings from Cilamaya. The purpose of the research to obtain the composition of the tofu pulp growing media which gave the highest result towards merang mushroom growth. The research was conducted in Plant Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University and in Kumbung (Mushroom House), Pasirmulya Village, Majalaya, Karawang. The method that is used was experimental, single factor randomized block design (RBD) of 6 treatments in 4 replications, the treatments were: A (Control + Straw 100%), B (Tofu pulp 5% + straw 95%), C (Tofu plus 15% + straw 85%), D ( tofu pulp  25% + straw 75%), E (tofu pulp 35% + straw 65%) and F (tofu pulp 45% + straw 55%). The results showed that treatment C (15% tofu pulp + 85% straw) has the best value, there is a significant effect on the parameters of fruit body length of 6,98 cm, fruit body diameter with a value of 18,22 mm, number of fruit bodies with a value of 5,80, fruit body weight 10,05 g.

Abstract

In general, the basic material used in the planting media of white oyster mushroom is sawdust. The increasing need for sawdust, without being offset by sufficient availability will make sawdust difficult to obtain. The research aimed to obtain the composition substitution of the hyacinth powder and tempe dregs which provided the highest results for growth and yield of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). The research was conducted in Gintung Kerta Village, Klari Subdistrict, Karawang District, West Java from July 2020 to October 2020. The method used was an experimental method with used Randomized Block Design (RDB) single factor, consisting of 9 treatments and 3 replications so there were 27 experimental units. The treatments were: A (without the addition of growing media treatment); B (5% water hyacinth powder); C (10% water hyacinth powder); D (15% water hyacinth powder; E (20% water hyacinth powder); F (Tempe dregs 5%); G (Tempe dregs 10%); H (Tempe dregs 15%); and I (Tempe dregs 20%). The results showed that there was a significant effect of composition proportion substitution of the hyacinth powder and tempe dregs on the length of mycelium per baglog, maximum fruit hood diameter per baglog, harvest intensity per baglog, fresh weight of mushrooms per baglog, and total yield in a planting period. The treatment of H (Tempe dregs 15%) gave the highest yield to the harvest intensity of 2.44 times, the mushroom fresh weight of 89.42 g/baglog, and the total yield in a planting period of 408.00 g.

Abstract

This research aims to find out 1) the interaction between the medium of planting and the concentration of nutrient solutions to the growth and yield of celery plants hydroponically. 2) types of planting media that can give different influences on the growth and yield of celery plants, and 3) concentration of nutrient solution that provides the best growth and yield of celery plants in different planting media.The research was conducted from December 2019 to February 2020 at the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture of Mulawarman University, Samarinda. The research used factorial exsperiment 3×4 on Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD), replicated three times with each treatment consisting of three plants. The first factor is the planting medium consisting of rockwool, charcoal husk, and combination of charcoal husk + tea amps. The second factor is the concentration of AB Mix nutrient solution consists of 500, 1,000, 1,500, and 2,000 ppm. The data was analyzed with test F and continued Least Significant Difference (LSD) test with a level of 5%.  The results showed that there is an interaction between planting media and concentration of nutrient solution in the growth and yield of celery plants. The interaction between the combination of charcoal planting media + tea pulp and concentration of 1,500 ppm is not real with the interaction of rockwool planting media and concentration of 1,500 ppm. From various types of planting media used, charcoal husk planting media provides the best influence on the growth and yield of celery plants. Based on polynomial orthogonal test the concentration of nutrient solution with an optimum point of 1,460.84 ppm affects the growth and yield of celery plants with a maximum dry weight of 2.14 g.

Abstract

Small and medium industries including household businesses really need to be developed into businesses that are able to develop independently into businesses to increase community income. Household businesses built by the community must of course take into account the potential that can support business continuity. The study was conducted on household businesses Abon Ikan Tuna "Bunda" in Lumpue Village, West Bacukki District, Parepare City. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential for household business development and formulate development strategies for household businesses. From the results of observations and interviews, it can be concluded that this household business has the potential to be seen from the raw material resources, human resources, equipment resources, the environment, and finance. Quantitative Analysis in this study uses the Process Hierarchy Analysis Method (AHP) so that the results obtained that an alternative sequence in business development in this household business that can be applied is the addition of marketing experts, strategies to increase product diversity development, increase production volume, conduct promotions broadly, adding equipment units, opening opportunities and expanding market networks and adding transportation equipment.

Abstract

The capacity of the environment is one of the factors which needs to be given attention to in aquaculture. With the help of technology and even little media be an increase in the capacity of the environment to catfishes (Clarias gariepinus), black Nile tilapia’s (Oreochromis niloticus), and vegetables in a bucket. The system of the aquaculture of fish in the bucket uses a simple concept and needn't massive capital because needn't no room or ponds. The purpose of this activity is to find the growth of catfishes, black Nile tilapia’s as well as vegetables in the limited area with techniques aquaculture in a bucket, so that can be applied with tiny scales in the household. This activity was carried out in two months from November 2020 up to December 2020 in Palangka Raya. The method is; a. The preparatory stage of vegetable media b. The preparatory stage of media the aquaculture of fish c. Data analysis. Based on the evaluation and monitoring growth catfishes revealed the presence of absolute 15,21 cm long growth and heavy growth is 87,94 gr. The success rate of life as long as maintenance shows the range 66,66 %. While for black nila tilapia’s long growth absolute 6,07 cm and heavy growth is 13,66 gr. The success rate of living in tilapia for maintenance shows a value of 46,66 %. Kale planted in aquaculture containers for 2 months can be harvested as much as 2 times. The results of water quality temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO) both at the beginning and at the end of the study showed a range of catfishes and tilapias that could still tolerate growth.

Abstract

Sub-optimal land is a lot of lands that is spread in East Kalimantan. Sub-optimal land conditions that have low biological properties is one of the limiting factors in sub-optimal land use for agricultural cultivation. Available suboptimal lands include Ultisol soil types, Imperata grasslands, and ex-coal mining land. This sub-optimal land requires the identification of biological characteristics before determining how to manage it. The research objective is the identification of microfauna including the total population of microorganisms and the identification of bacteria and fungi.  This research will be carried out for 1 (one) year. This research includes the following steps: Making a solution of POME microorganisms takes 14 days, making oil palm frond compost with POME mole bio activator takes about 1 (one) month, Incubation of sub-optimal ex-soil applied to compost requires 2 weeks, and analysis of the total population of soil microorganisms and identification of bacteria and fungi. The results showed that: 1. Microorganism population in sub-optimal land has increased with the addition of oil palm frond compost with POME bio activator 2. There are six genus of fungi namely Trichoderma, Penicillium, Aspergillus, Clamidiospora, Mucor and Aerobasidium. Treatment f1, f2, and f3 had more varied varieties of fungi compared to f0 (control) which only had three fungi genera, 3. the addition of palm frond compost did not increase the Azotobacteraceae population, even in f1 and f3 treatments decreased.

Abstract

Chili is a horticultural commodity that has high economic value, one of the leading national vegetable commodities, and has high competitiveness, so its availability must be increased continuously. Production of Cayanne Pepper can be optimized in various ways such as planting fertile and healthy land, can be planting Cayenne Pepper in the home yard, but problems occur when Cayanne Pepper are planted on acid mineral soils such as Ultisol which are known to have low organic matter and nutrients. This study tries to utilize household wasted as tea and leri which is combined and applied to Ultisol so that its effect on the soil and yield of Cayanne Pepper plants can be increased. The design model used in this research is a Completely Randomized Design Factorial consisting of two factors. The first factor is tea wasted (factor T) with 4 levels, as T20 (tea waste 20 g), T40 (tea waste 40 g), T60 (tea waste 60), and T80 (tea waste 80 g). The second factor is the leri water (factor L) with 4 levels, as L50 (leri 50 ml), L100 (leri 100 ml), T150 (leri 150 ml) and L200 (leri 200 ml) so there are 16 combinations of treatments with 3 replications. Observations in the research identification of N-total, P2O5, K2O, total chlorophyll, the weight of fresh fruit, the quantity of fruits, dry weight of plants. The results show that the treatment of the combination of tea wasted and leri water has a positive effect on soil chemical so that it affects the yield of Cayanne Pepper plants.

Abstract

Hasil perikanan Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, baik dalam bentuk segar maupun olahan semakin diminati pasar.  Peningkatan permintaan ini memang sangat diharapkan mengingat tingginya potensi hasil perikanan di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat.  Produk  perikanan dalam bentuk segar dapat mengalami kemunduran mutu.  Oleh karena itu perlu upaya mempertahankan mutu dengan cara penanganan yang tepat agar ikan tetap segar maupun diolah menjadi produk olahan.  Kerupuk stik ikan merupakan salah satu produk olahan yang dipilih sebagai bentuk usaha diversifikasi pangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kesukaan konsumen terhadap kerupuk stik ikan dengan bahan baku ikan yang berbeda.  Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kerupuk stik ikan dengan jenis ikan berbeda (ikan tenggiri, remang dan manyung) sebagai bahan baku utama.  Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket. Data yang didapat kemudian diolah dengan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) dan uji lanjut dengan Uji Tukey.  Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukan bahwa nilai Fhit(15,092) > Ftab(3,16) dan diperkuat dengan nilai p<0,05.  Hal ini menunjukan adanya tingkat perbedaan nyata kesukaan terhadap Total Hedonik dari ketiga jenis ikan tersebut.  Hasil uji hedonik (tingkat kesukaan) terhadap ketiga jenis kerupuk stik ikan dari bahan baku ikan yang berbeda dari segi warna, rasa, aroma, dan tekstur adalah kerupuk stik ikan tenggiri lebih disukai dengan nilai total hedonik tenggiri (5,88), remang (4,98), dan manyung (5,18).

Abstract

The Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea L.) PM 126 F1 is one of the vegetable commodities with a high enough demand because this vegetable is widely consumed by the public. This experiment purposes to get a dose combination of oyster mushroom waste organic fertilizer and NPK fertilizer which gives the highest growth and yield of cauliflower. The method of research used is the experimental method. The design of experimental used was randomize block design (RBD) with a single factor that consisted of 8 treatments with 3 replications, that is : A (control), B (10 ton/ha Organic fertilizer), C (20 ton/ha Organic fertilizer), D (30 ton/ha Organic fertilizer), E (NPK 800 kg/ha), F (10 ton/ha Organic fertilizer + NPK 800 kg/ha), G (20 ton/ha Organic fertilizer + NPK 800 kg/ha), H (30 ton/ha Organic fertilizer + NPK 800 kg/ha). the result highest curd weight is 7,75 ton/ha achieved by treatment G is 20 ton/ha waste compost of oyster mushroom and 800 kg/ha NPK fertilizer.
