Abstract

Onion production must always be increased. Liquid organic fertilizers affect the growth and development of soil microbes and the nutrients contained in POC will be absorbed more quickly by plants. Guano or swallow droppings originating from the swallow cultivator building are currently not widely used and further processed, even though the waste can be used as fertilizer that can fertilize plants. This study aims to obtain the POC dose of swallow droppings that provide the highest growth effectiveness and yield in shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) plants.The research method used was a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD), namely the dose of POC with 7 treatments that were repeated 4 times, namely treatment A (Without NPK and POC (control (-)), B (NPK 600 kg / ha (control (+)), C (POC 3 l / ha + NPK 300 kg / ha), D (POC 6 l / ha + NPK 300 kg / ha), E (POC 9 l / ha + NPK 300 kg / ha), F (POC 12 lt / ha + NPK 300 kg / ha), G (POC 15 l / ha + NPK 300 kg / ha). Data were analyzed using variance (ANOVA) and DMRT at the 5% level. Based on the results of the study, the dosage of swallow droppings POC did not have a significant effect on all components of growth and yield. This shows that POC made from swallow droppings has not been able to increase the growth and production of shallot plants.

Abstract

Small and medium industries including household businesses really need to be developed into businesses that are able to develop independently into businesses to increase community income. Household businesses built by the community must of course take into account the potential that can support business continuity. The study was conducted on household businesses Abon Ikan Tuna "Bunda" in Lumpue Village, West Bacukki District, Parepare City. The purpose of this study is to determine the potential for household business development and formulate development strategies for household businesses. From the results of observations and interviews it can be concluded that this household business has the potential to be seen from the raw material resources, human resources, equipment resources, the environment and finance. Quantitative Analysis in this study uses the Process Hierarchy Analysis Method (AHP) so that the results obtained that an alternative sequence in business development in this household business that can be applied is the addition of marketing experts, strategies to increase product diversity development, increase production volume, conduct promotions broadly, adding equipment units, opening opportunities and expanding market networks and adding transportation equipment.

Abstract

Mutation on leptin gene affect leptin function as  one of the hormones  which contribute to body fat deposition.  This research aims to determine the effect of R25C and R25H mutations on the leptin gene toward  back fat thickness and Body Condition Score (BCS) in Ongole Grade cattle. The study was conducted with a quasi-experimental method, using completely randomized design. The treatments in this study were genotypes differences was, namely CC, TT and AA.  This research used  sixthteen heads of Ongole Grade Cattle  aged ± 2 years, and was reared for 60 days intensively. The feed  consisted of forage and concentrate with a ratio of 25: 75, as much as 3% dry matter of body weight and drinking water was given ad libitum. The backfat thickness was estimated using ultrasound performed on 4.5-6.5 MHz frequency, with depth of 8.8-13 cm, BCS was assessed visually by using 1 – 5 score.  The backfat thickness data were analyzed by variance component and BCS data was analyzed by Kruskal Wallis. The results showed average of backfat  thickness  CC, TT and AA genotype were  3.14 mm,  2.9 mm and 3.57 mm, respectively. The  body condition score for CC, TT and AA genotype were  3.54, 3.63 and 3.46  respectively.  The Mutation of leptin gene on  R25C and R25H have not effect to backfat thickness and body condition score in PO cattle.

Abstract

Cassava is one of the staple foods for most of the Indonesian population which is in great demand by people from various circles. Because in addition to the cheap price and the easy way to get it. The easy process of planting cassava is also one of the reasons why cassava is in great demand by the public. This study aims to determine the characteristics of respondents, make decisions and analyze consumer attitudes towards attributes. This research was conducted in Argotelo in the Salatiga area of Central Java. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative research. The sampling technique used is convenience sampling with a sample size of 40 respondents. Sources of data were obtained from interviews, questionnaires, literature study, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are Descriptive Analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that the characteristics of consumers aged 20 to 28 years were married with income below Rp. 2,500,000 as private employees and have the latest diploma or bachelor's education (S1, S2, S3). The decision-making stage is the introduction of needs, information search, evaluation of alternatives, purchase, and results. The consumer satisfaction index is 86.40%, which means that consumers are very satisfied with the cassava cheese products in Argotelo. There is no priority for performance on attributes that need to be improved, but in quadrant II the taste and quality need to be maintained and in quadrant III it needs to be encouraged or developed, especially brand attributes so that consumer expectations for the brand are higher

Abstract

 Transformation of land-use cause forest area decrease that will affect microclimate (weather tends heat), thus hotspot may possible to scattered in that area and raise the transformation of surface temperature. The objective of this research is to determine the indication of surface temperature in the East Kutai District. The advantage of this research is to give information about hotspot area distribution based on land use and relate between hotspots with surface temperature increase so it is supposed to be one of the consider to transform land use in East Kutai District. This research was held from April until May 2019 at the Laboratory of Carthography and Geographic Information System, Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University. This research using calculation of Land Surface Temperature (LST) value to determine the transformation of surface temperature in East Kutai District by data analysis from Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS satellite. Hotspot area distribution adapted to map of land-use so we found the source of the hotspot. The result of the research shows there are about 6 hotspots in land-use of plantation in 2017 and the increase of the surface temperature is not static cause by depending of rainfall in East Kutai District. Increasing of surface temperature in East Kutai District in October 2013 become 22.35 oC (for minimum temperature), whereas in May 2017 become 37.24 oC (for maximum temperature).

Abstract

White oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) is a type of local mushroom that has been and is being developed in Indonesia. Efforts to find alternative media for sawdust if it is difficult to obtain or not available and the addition of nutrients from the outside by giving organic supplements to increase the growth and development of oyster mushrooms. The experiment was carried out in Bahagia Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency. The research method used was an experimental method with a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD). There were 10 treatment, namely A (without the addition of media + aquades 100%), B (15% rice husk + 25% organic supplement), C (15% rice husk + 50% organic supplement), D (15% rice husk + 75% organic supplement), E (30% rice husk + 25% organic supplement), F (30% rice husk + 50% organic supplement), G (30% rice husk + 75% organic supplement), H (45% rice husk + 25% organic supplement), I (45% rice husk + 50% organic supplement) and J (45% rice husk + 75% organic supplement). The results showed that there was a significant effect of rice husk substitution and organic supplementation on the number of fruit clumps per baglog, fruit cap diameter per baglog, and fresh weight of mushrooms per baglog. Treatment C (15% rice husk + 50% organic supplement) gave the highest results on the parameters of the number of fruit clumps per baglog (1.00), fruit cap diameter per baglog (6.03 cm),  fresh weight of mushrooms per baglog (60.54 grams).

Abstract

The study was intended to analyze the position of the agricultural sector in the East Java Province of the covid-19 pandemic by determining the position of the agricultural sector at the time before the covid-19 pandemic and the covid-19 pandemic and identifying the factors that determined how the agriculture sector was performing. The collection of data on this study is secondary data obtained from the Statistical Center and the Indonesian Bank. The method of data analysis used is the Location Quotient analysis (LQ) and the Shift Share. This examination proposes that the situation of the agricultural sector at the time before the covid-19 pandemic was a non-base sector with an LQ value of 0,77. This occurs due to the conversion of agricultural land that is less in favor of the agricultural side even though East Java is one of the areas that has the largest agricultural production. At the time of the covid-19, the performance of the agricultural sector in East Java Province is a non-base sector with an LQ value of 0,79. This happened because of the Covid-19 pandemic which affected food security due to an unsupportive situation and prone to production problems. The rise in the value of LQ is expected to be better for agriculture sector performance. The factor that determines the performance of the agricultural sector is a factor of economic structure with a value of SSS greater than LSS.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of endoparasitic worm Gnathostoma sp and the prevalence that infects rice field eel (Monopterus albus) with different grades. the method used is the descriptive method. Samples were taken from 3 different farm locations (Nor Aini, Banjar Regency, CV. Karya Bersama, Banjarbaru City, and Saberiannor Banjarbaru City), as many as 120 individuals with each grade (A, B, C, and D) totaling 30 individuals. Samples were examined using the microscopic method with 3 replications on each target organ, namely liver, meat, intestines, and kidneys. The results of the examination showed that Gnathostoma sp worm cysts were found, namely only in the liver, while in the intestines, flesh, and kidneys were not found. Based on the identification of Gnathostoma sp endoparasites seen from morphological characteristics, third-stage larvae (L3) in the phylum Nematoda, cylindrical body shape, transparent body color, and blackish brown, head shape resembling a light bulb, mouth, and has anus at the end of its body. Prevalence value in grade A = 40%; B= 30%; C= 40%, and D= 30%, this includes the category commonly or ordinary which describes that the parasite usually infects fish with a prevalence value range of 30-49%.          It is still possible to send rice field eels outside of South Kalimantan Province, although the results of the examination of the test samples indicated the presence of the parasite infection Gnathostoma sp..

Abstract

This study aims to identify ectoparasites and determine the incidence of parasites in Toman fish that are kept in wooden cages in Muara Dua Village, Seruyan Hilir District, Seruyan Regency. The method of this research is the sampling of Toman fish (Channa micropeltes) as many as 60 fish taken from three cages where fish are kept using the survey method. Each fish was observed on the fins, skin and gills and compared the results with the identification key book. From the results of research on Toman fish originating from Muara Dua Village, it was found that 4 types of ectoparites that infested Toman fish were as follows: Ticodina sp, Dactylogrus sp, Oodinium sp, and Ichtyoptirius multifilis and predilection or sites of attack of ectoprasites including fins, skin, and gills with a level value of The incidence of ectoprasites ranges from 42-68%, including in the common and frequent categories.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of field extension workers on the productivity of rice farming. During the Covid-19 pandemic, physical contact and social contact were greatly reduced, it had an impact on the role that extension workers. To measure the data on the role of the extension worker, a Likert scale is used.. The results showed that a slowdown in extension activities, indicated by an average of over 70% of farmers saying there was no extension to farmers individually or in groups. The level of the role of the extension worker is 1.84 which is included in the Medium category. This means that from the overall average value of the role of the extension agent starting from the extension agent as an advisor, as an organizer, as a technician, as a liaison and as an agent of renewal, the role is sufficient for farmers.
