Abstract

Improper disposal of fecal matter in inappropriate locations can lead to environmental pollution, various diseases, and even death. This community service project focused on assisting farmer groups in Air Pesi Village, Kepahiang District, Bengkulu Province, who lacked proper sanitation facilities. Initially, the goal was to build two sanitary toilets, but this was expanded to four through cost-effective communal labor. Pre-and post-test assessments showed a substantial increase in residents' knowledge of healthy behaviors and the Healthy Living Community Movement in Indonesia known as Gerakan Masyarat Hidup Sehat (GERMAS) principles, from 32% before the intervention to 89% afterward. Additionally, the project successfully exceeded its target by constructing four sanitary toilets, which were not only used for waste disposal but also as bathing and laundry facilities. Community awareness of GERMAS principles increased by 57%. This initiative can serve as a model for local residents and inform government policies on rural sanitation. This project highlights the importance of community-driven sanitation improvements in rural areas.

Abstract

Technology has developed vastly through digitalization for every business sector, e.g., Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), in developing website profiling as sources of information and advertisement. Kampung Cincau is a village located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia which produces grass jelly (cincau) and has been known through mass media coverage. However, they do not have specific and updated information access personally to be accessible to the public. The main objective of this community service is developing a website profile as a source of promotion in Kampung Cincau. There are three steps to developing a website in Kampung Cincau, i.e., preparation, implementation, and ending by monitoring and evaluation. Communicating with the people in Kampung Cincau to dive deeper into their needs has been done as preparation. Afterward, implementation covers finishing the website and writing the website’s manual book. Lastly, monitoring and evaluation focus on conducting admin training for the website to the people and monitoring them as if they have difficulties maintaining the website. These three steps have been finished as sequences of the community service program in Kampung Cincau. Based on the results of a survey on the implementation of community service through Google Forms, the people of Kampung Cincau is assisted through the output of a website profile that has been built and requires assistance in the optimization of utilizing the website.

Abstract

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact, particularly on the economic sector, including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These businesses have a very important role in the economy, especially in the Hargorejo Village area. A strong branding strategy with a focus on quality is essential to increase product reach and competitiveness. This community service aims to improve the community's economy and support the community by actively providing assistance to MSMEs in Hargorejo Village, Kokap District, Kulonprogo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The methods used in this community service include outreach, training, and evaluation for MSME participants. The training curriculum covers topics such as the use of technology in MSME products, branding, packaging, and the use of online markets. After completing the training, MSME participants gain a deeper understanding of the importance of using technology in marketing their products. In addition, real improvements can be seen in the branding and packaging of MSME products. This positive transformation can be seen from the post-training assessment which shows that 64% of MSME participants now understand the importance of integrating IT, branding, packaging, and effective online markets into their business strategy. It is hoped that this increased awareness can provide significant benefits for MSME players, especially by strengthening product marketing efforts and improving the overall welfare of MSME stakeholders.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the business sectors driving the country's economy. MSMEs produce many quality products that can compete in the market, where one of the products that is marketed quite a lot is food products. Several MSMEs in the Purwakarta Regency area have not included information on nutritional value and contamination on labels or packaging so these products cannot be widely marketed or traded in official stores and can only be marketed in their production areas. The Community Service activities carried out aim to carry out nutritional value and contamination tests, followed by improving product quality through workshops and mentoring. The food products targeted are simping and instant turmeric drinks produced by MSMEs in Pondoksalam District, Purwakarta Regency. Laboratory test results show that instant turmeric does not meet several SNI standard parameters, so quality improvement is still needed to be able to adapt it to become a product that meets standards. The results of the questionnaire show that several MSME owners in the Purwakarta area have a poor understanding of food product quality standards and ways to improve them. The coaching program for community service activities shows an increase in knowledge and understanding so that food products from Purwakarta MSMEs are expected to meet product quality standards in the future.

Abstract

The Moncongloe District is an environment that is rich in potential with many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Business owners in this sector face challenges in managing business finances effectively. Limited financial knowledge is due to the fact that MSMEs do not have a financial background or formal education in this field. This makes it difficult for MSMEs to understand the terms and concepts used in financial reports. This community empowerment program aims to make a positive contribution to business development in Moncongloe District, particularly in recording business finances. The implementation method is through workshops, discussions, questions and answers, and evaluations to provide an understanding of the importance of financial reports for MSMEs. The results of the community empowerment program show that workshop participants experienced an in-depth increase in knowledge about the importance of financial reports which can improve business performance for MSME entrepreneurs and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) in Moncongloe District, Maros Regency. In addition, participants succeeded in understanding the tools for starting a business, namely the Business Model Canvas, and making simple financial records that can help community empowerment partners in developing more structured and innovative MSME businesses.
