Abstract

Based on data from Riskesdas, the highest prevalence of anemia occurs in pregnant women (48.9 percent and adolescent girls aged 15-24 years (32 percent. Adolescent girls are a high-risk group for anemia due to blood loss during menstruation and the possibility of micronutrient deficiencies. Other identified causes include improper eating patterns and low adherence to consuming iron supplementation tablets (IST). To increase public knowledge about anemia, education is needed, one of which can be conducted through outreach in schools. This counseling aims to determine the students' level of understanding regarding anemia, which can subsequently enhance their knowledge and compliance with iron tablet consumption. The counseling was conducted at SMP Negeri 14 Jember on February 25, 2025, and attended by 32 student council members. The material was delivered through a PowerPoint presentation, leaflets, and games. Evaluation was conducted using a comparison of pre-test and post-test results to measure changes in students' knowledge about anemia. The results show an increase in knowledge among 71.88 percent of students, and from the statistical test results using the paired T-test, a significant result was obtained p<0.05. Based on this, educational activities aimed at preventing anemia using a counseling approach can enhance adolescents' understanding of anemia.

Abstract

Harjokuncaran Village possesses significant potential for Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) cultivation; however, the quality of the coffee remains suboptimal, and prolonged use of chemical fertilizers has led to soil degradation. To address these challenges, a community service program was implemented focusing on farmer education in post- harvest handling, encompassing harvesting, sorting, drying, and storage, as well as the production of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The program aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of local coffee farmers while promoting the adoption of environmentally friendly agricultural practices using LOF derived from livestock waste, rice washing water, coconut water, and rice bran. The program involved surveys, observations, and hands-on workshops attended by 25 coffee farmers. Pre- and post-tests were conducted to evaluate the program's effectiveness and support long-term implementation. During the workshops, participants actively engaged in discussions and practiced both post-harvest techniques and LOF production. Results demonstrated a significant increase in farmers’ understanding, with knowledge levels improving from 8–92 percent to 92–100 percent. Additionally, the adoption of proper red cherry picking and improved post-harvest practices led to noticeable enhancements in coffee quality. Farmers’ awareness and ability to produce and use LOF also rose sharply from 4 percent to 100 percent. This program effectively strengthened farmers' competencies in sustainable coffee farming and fostered collaboration between the implementation team and local stakeholders to support continued agricultural and environmental development in the village.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a significant health issue in Indonesia, with eleven provinces reporting a Case Fatality Rate (CFR) exceeding 1 percent. This community service activity aims to expand the utility of the SIAGA DBD application at Puskesmas Wagir, Malang Regency, in response to the high incidence of DHF in the area. Through training health workers and community cadres, the initiative aims to enhance the real-time reporting and monitoring of DHF cases. The implementation methods include coordination with the health office, surveying potential users, adding educational content, and providing training for health workers and community cadres. Results indicate an increase in participation in using the application, although this remains limited to a few areas. Evaluations indicate that the training was successful in improving understanding of the application, and cadres expressed confidence in utilizing the app for DHF monitoring. Socialization throughout the villages is necessary so that the SIAGA DBD application can be utilized more widely. For that reason, the development of an accurate village database will be necessary to enhance the application's effectiveness.

Abstract

Steamed fish represents one of the primary processed fish products produced by fishermen in Wadaslintang. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wadaslintang Fish Craftsmen and Management KWT Rahayu faced various obstacles, particularly in securing adequate supplies of red tilapia (Oreochromis sp.) as raw material and in expanding their marketing reach. This service program aims to implement smart spatial agrologistics to increase production capacity, expand market reach, and strengthen the economic resilience of steamed fish enterprises in Erorejo Wadaslintang. Over eight months, the program targeted 15 KUB members and applied several participatory approaches, including interviews, data segregation, and georeferenced digitization, to identify reliable raw material suppliers, map potential markets, and define marketing coverage. The initiative demonstrated that green spatial agrological innovation could be successfully adapted to strengthen local fishing enterprises. As a direct outcome, membership of steamed fish businesses increased from 15 to 20 participants, while marketing areas expanded to Lampung and Banjarmasin. Furthermore, production capacity rose significantly from 60 kilograms per day to 150 kilograms per day. These results confirm that the adoption of innovative spatial-based agrological technology can enhance productivity, improve resource management, and boost the economic resilience of fishing communities in Wadaslintang.

Abstract

Cengklok Village in Wonogiri Regency holds economic potential, particularly in cassava chip production, that remains underutilized. Limited knowledge of financial management and marketing strategies has led to low product value and restricted market access. This community engagement initiative aimed to strengthen farmers' capacities through training in financial record-keeping, cost of production calculation, and digital-based promotion strategies. The activities included field observations, surveys, interviews, problem analysis, training material development, and practical sessions. As a result, participants gained the ability to manage budgets systematically, determine selling prices based on cost analysis, and organize financial records more effectively. Enhancements in visual marketing and product packaging attracted greater consumer interest and broadened market reach. Furthermore, the formation of farmer groups with clear organizational structures contributed to business sustainability. The program improved farmers’ skills in managing agribusinesses professionally, supporting local economic growth and market expansion. The development of cassava chip enterprises as an alternative income source also increased productivity during the off-season, enabling more efficient use of time. This transformation positively impacted farmers’ welfare and ensured the long-term viability of local, commodity-based enterprises.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia, caused by chronic malnutrition and recurrent infections during the first 1,000 days of life. Posyandu cadres have a strategic role as the front line in promotive and preventive health services. However, many cadres still face limitations in knowledge and standard competencies related to stunting prevention. This community service activity aimed to improve the capacity of Posyandu cadres in Samarinda City through structured Basic Competency Training. The training was conducted over three days using interactive lectures, service simulations, field practices, and pre-test and post-test evaluations. A total of 60 cadres from 26 community health centers participated actively in the program. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge scores, increasing from an average of 38.33 before the training to 78.50 after the training, as confirmed by the Wilcoxon test. In addition to improving technical knowledge and skills, the training also increased cadres’ confidence, motivation, and commitment to providing quality community services. This activity not only enhanced the cadres’ competence but also strengthened their role as agents of change in promoting healthy family nutrition behavior. Therefore, continuous mentoring and periodic refresher training are recommended to maintain the sustainability and long-term impact of the program.

Abstract

Eid al-Adha is a religious moment closely associated with the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals and an increase in red meat consumption among the community. Although it carries profound religious and social values, excessive consumption may increase the risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) if not balanced with a healthy lifestyle. Based on this phenomenon, a community service program was carried out in Sriwedari Village, RT 03/RW 04, Karanganyar Subdistrict, Ngawi Regency, East Java, aiming to raise community awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention of NCDs. The program methods included health education through lectures and discussions, followed by medical screening of blood pressure, random blood glucose levels, and cholesterol. The results showed that 62 percent of residents experienced hypertension, 18 percent had high cholesterol, while the majority of blood glucose levels were within normal limits. Tangible benefits for the community were reflected in the increased awareness to conduct regular health check-ups, improve red meat consumption patterns, and support nutritional fulfillment for vulnerable groups. Furthermore, this program has the potential for sustainability through collaboration between universities, community health centers (puskesmas), and village governments as supporting partners.

Abstract

The member data collection process at the Institution for the Development and Empowerment of Women Heads of Household (PEKKA) of the Masjid Agung Palembang Foundation is still done manually using books and Excel. This causes difficulties in finding data, inaccurate data, and data may be lost. The purpose of this community service activity is to conduct socialization and training on the system that has been built, which can be accessed via the Internet. The target of the activity is the administrative section of the institution which has data over than 190 members. The system development uses a waterfall approach and discussions about the system that will be used later with a development method, which consists of planning, system design, implementation, evaluation, and ends with training. Laragon is used as a local server in system development until hosting in its publication. The web-based system developed successfully addressed previous issues by speeding up data retrieval, making updates easier, and reducing the likelihood of data loss. After the system is published, the next step is socialization and training to facilitate users and website administrators in member data collection, so that data-related needs can be met well, and innovation can be realized by transitioning from manual to digital. Based on the results of the tests conducted, the average value obtained was 4.67 out of 5, which indicates that respondents were able to use the system effectively.
