Abstract

Craft products are export commodities that contribute to Bali's economic growth, but have experienced a decline in export value. The increasingly complex dynamics of the craft industry present various strategic challenges for craft businesses in Bali. Considering that craft products not only serve as a source of regional and national income but also constitute a cultural heritage, this requires attention. This study has theoretical innovations regarding the integration of innovation and relationship marketing as intangible resources from the RBV perspective. Furthermore, competitive advantage as a mediating variable in this relationship has rarely been studied specifically in the context of traditional craft products facing the global export market. In this context, Balinese craft businesses are required to increase their competitiveness through the implementation of sustainable innovation and strengthening relationships with customers as an effort to encourage improved marketing performance. This study involved all craft businesses in Bali as the population. The sample size was 96. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results of the study proved that innovation influences competitive advantage and marketing performance, but the effect was not significant on marketing performance, while customer relationships influenced competitive advantage and marketing performance. In this study, the competitive advantage achieved by Balinese craft businesses.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a tourism management concept aimed at generating long-term benefits without causing harm to the environment or local socio-cultural life. This concept is implemented through the management of tourism villages, which actively involve local communities in developing tourist destinations. One of the World’s Best Tourism Villages in 2024 is Jatiluwih Tourism Village, located in Bali. The purpose of this study is to identify and understand the role of local community involvement in developing Jatiluwih Tourism Village to create sustainable tourism; to analyze the impacts of its development on the economic sustainability of local communities, social improvement, cultural preservation, and environmental conservation; and to determine appropriate strategies for sustainable tourism development in the village. This study employs a qualitative approach using SWOT analysis. The results show that sustainable tourism development in Jatiluwih Tourism Village emphasizes participatory, collaborative, and local wisdom–based approaches. Local community involvement plays a crucial role in the success of tourism management, although it remains at a moderate level of participation. The development of the village has produced positive impacts on economic, social, cultural, and environmental aspects, yet challenges such as waste management and land-use conversion still require serious attention. The recommended strategy is based on local wisdom and multi-stakeholder collaboration using the Strength–Opportunity (SO) approach, focusing on the village’s rice field landscape and cultural heritage as key attractions for educational and ecotourism development, promoting more equitable economic benefits.

Abstract

The decline in the number of early childhood education (PAUD) students has become a major concern as it directly affects the operational sustainability of educational institutions. This study aims to examine the role of perceived value in mediating the influence of word of mouth on parents’ decision-making in choosing a school at PAUD Bhaktivedanta Dharma School. The main issue faced by the school is the decrease in student enrollment due to the lack of word-of-mouth promotion. This research employs a descriptive and associative quantitative approach. This research targeted a total of 201 parents as the study population, from which a sample of 100 participants was drawn using a stratified random sampling technique. Data collection involved a combination of observations, interviews, document analysis, and Likert-scale questionnaires. The data were analyzed through the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. Findings indicate that both word of mouth and perceived value significantly and positively impact decision-making. Furthermore, perceived value serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between word of mouth and parents’ purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The growing number of restaurants and the increase in tourist visits to Bali have had a significant impact on the economy of the restaurant industry, but it is not in line with the willingness of employees to work sustainably in restaurants. Indications of high work overload and declining job satisfaction are the causes of employee insecurity. Greenkubu Restorant and Swing faces a high number of employees continuing to increase from 2022-2024. This study seeks to understand job satisfaction in mediating the relationship between work overload and employee turnover intention of Greenkubu Restaurant and Swing. Quantitative approach using SEM-PLS analysis using questionnaires distributed to all restaurant employees as a source of hypothesis test data, the study revealed that work overload had a positive and significant effect on turnover intention. On the other hand, workoverload has a significant negative effect on job satisfaction and job satisfaction has a significant negative effect on turnover. Meanwhile, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between work overload and turnover intention. These results provide guidance for tourism restaurant managers to suppress the high desire of employees to leave work through efforts to manage employee workoverload which has an impact on job satisfaction and can ultimately reduce high turnover rates.

Abstract

Generation Z faces challenges in managing their finances effectively amid digital lifestyle shifts, rapid technological development, and increasing access to financial services. A positive financial attitude is expected to encourage individuals to manage their finances wisely; however, poor financial practices among Generation Z are still commonly found. This study aims to analyze the influence of financial attitude on personal financial management, as well as the mediating role of financial self-efficacy among Generation Z in Denpasar City. This research adopts a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 120 Gen Z respondents aged 18–27 years. Data were analyzed using regression and mediation tests through SEM PLS. The results show that financial attitude has a positive and significant influence on personal financial management. Financial self-efficacy also positively affects personal financial management and is proven to mediate the influence of financial attitude on personal financial management. These findings indicate that confidence in managing finances is a crucial psychological factor that strengthens the relationship between financial attitude and financial management ability. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing financial education programs that focus not only on conceptual understanding but also on strengthening individuals' confidence in managing finances.

Abstract

The evolving dynamics of modern lifestyles have triggered substantial growth within the MSME sector, particularly in fashion and accessories. This phenomenon creates a promising market niche for new entrepreneurs entering the creative industry. This study primarily aims to evaluate the impact of customer orientation on marketing performance, incorporating product innovation capability as a mediating variable. The research population comprises fashion and accessory MSMEs in Pontianak City, with a sample of 153 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) via AMOS version 23. The findings indicate that customer orientation has a significant effect on performance (p-value = 0.019), whereas product innovation does not significantly influence marketing performance (p-value = 0.450). Additionally, customer orientation significantly impacts product innovation (p-value = 0.001). However, product innovation fails to mediate the relationship between customer orientation and marketing performance (p-value = 0.452). Focusing on customer needs serves as the primary driver for fashion MSMEs in Pontianak, as it enhances both product development and marketing performance. Although a customer-centric focus triggers innovation, such innovation does not bridge the influence of customer orientation on marketing performance.

Abstract

Task allocation and job description are essential elements of human resource management in ensuring role clarity and work effectiveness. However, in micro and small enterprises, task distribution is often implemented flexibly without formal documentation. This study aims to analyze task allocation and job description practices at Agung Fotocopy Centre, a micro-scale printing service business. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews with the business owner and employees, and analyzed descriptively by comparing field findings with human resource management concepts. The results indicate that task allocation at Agung Fotocopy Centre is characterized by multitasking and the absence of written job descriptions. Although this flexible system supports operational continuity, it also creates potential role ambiguity and task overlap. This study concludes that micro enterprises require simple and adaptive job descriptions to maintain work flexibility while enhancing role clarity and effectiveness.

A company's success is largely determined by employee performance, as they are a key element in implementing strategy and day-to-day operations. High-performing employees are able to complete tasks efficiently, innovate in finding solutions, and contribute to achieving company goals. Work motivation can be used as a mediator to mediate the relationship between work flexibility and compensation on employee performance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work flexibility and compensation on employee performance, with work motivation as a mediating variable. The data used were primary and secondary data obtained through questionnaire distribution. The sample size used in this study was 85 respondents. The data collection technique was carried out in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used Partial Least Squares (PLS).
