Abstract

This research aims to understand the development process of the "Jelajah Geometri" animation media based on virtual reality (VR) to enhance critical thinking skills in fourth-grade elementary school students, as well as to determine the students' responses after using the "Jelajah Geometri" animation media based on virtual reality (VR) to improve critical thinking skills in fourth-grade elementary school students on the topic of composition and decomposition of flat shapes. This research was conducted at SDN Penggung I, involving 20 fourth-grade students as respondents. The method used in this research is Research and Development (RD) based on the ADDIE development model, which consists of five main stages: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) implementation, and 5) Evaluation. Based on the validation results from the expert team, the media feasibility levels are as follows: media expert 96%, language expert 100%, and material expert 95%, all of which fall into the very valid category. After revisions were made to the media and materials according to the suggestions from the validators, the researcher proceeded to the implementation stage, or trial, with 20 fourth-grade students. The implementation results indicate  that the media received a score of 76%, which falls into the "good" category.

Abstract

Classroom interaction is an essential part of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. This study aims to understand the interactions that occur between teachers and students in a kindergarten setting. The study involved one teacher and 20 students. This research used a qualitative method, namely a descriptive case study. Data were collected through video-recorded observations. The data were analyzed using the theory of Miles and Huberman (1994). The study shows that teacher-student interactions can be seen from teacher talk and student talk. In teacher talk, several indicators emerged, such as: dealing with feelings, praising and encouraging, using the ideas of students, asking questions, giving information, and giving direction. Meanwhile, in student talk, there are indicators like student response, specific, nonverbal, silence, student-initiated, and laughter. Asking questions is the most frequently used by the teacher, while student response, specifically, is the most dominant response by the students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the improvement of writing skills in a junior high school student at a school in Pangandaran through the use of images and writing guidance. This research employed an action research method with a single female student as the data source. Data were collected from observations and interviews, which were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings of this study indicate that writing guidance can enhance the student's ability to acquire new vocabulary and improve grammatical structure. Additionally, the use of images positively influenced the student’s ability to generate ideas and organize her writing more effectively. Based on these results, the use of images combined with writing guidance is effective in supporting the writing learning process for junior high school students in one of the schools in Pangandaran.
