Abstract

Natural disasters pose significant economic and social challenges, particularly in vulnerable regions, necessitating strategies to enhance resilience. This study explores the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance practices and disaster risk resilience in financial institutions. The objective is to understand how these practices strengthen financial stability and sustainable development in high-risk environments. A systematic literature review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews model, analyzing relevant articles from the Scopus database. Findings reveal that integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance practices enables financial institutions to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, leading to informed lending and investment decisions. These practices enhance resilience by mitigating financial shocks from disasters, fostering stakeholder relationships, and promoting sustainable investments. The study concludes that adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance principles significantly bolsters financial institutions' capacity to manage disaster risks, ensuring long-term stability and supporting sustainable development. However, challenges such as regional regulatory differences and data limitations highlight the need for further research to optimize these practices globally. This underscores the critical role of Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks in building resilient financial systems.

Abstract

This study examines persistent procurement inefficiencies in Indonesia’s aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, including prolonged lead times, customs delays, and dependency on imported spare parts. To address these challenges, the research develops the Integrated Blockchain-Based Framework for Aviation MRO Procurement (iBF-AMP) using the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) methodology. Data were obtained through expert interviews, process mapping, and benchmarking against international best practices. The findings suggest that the iBF-AMP can reduce procurement cycle time from 11–18 days to 5–7 days by enabling digitalised supplier interaction, automated smart contract–based documentation, and centralised warehousing in the Batam Free Trade Zone. The framework also improves customs efficiency through blockchain-enabled traceability and enhances supplier accountability via transparent digital ledgers. By integrating Lean Six Sigma with blockchain technology, the model offers a scalable pathway to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and reliability in aviation logistics, particularly for emerging economies.   Keywords: Lean Six Sigma; DMAIC; Blockchain; Smart Contracts; Aviation MRO; Procurement

Abstract

Food security governance remains critical as global challenges like climate change and distribution inefficiencies threaten equitable access to food, particularly in archipelagic nations like Indonesia. This study aims to analyze global trends in food security policy and derive actionable governance lessons for Indonesia through a dual approach. It employs bibliometric analysis of 128 journal articles published between 2010 and 2024, using Scopus data processed with RStudio’s Bibliometric tool, alongside a comparative review of food security strategies in India, Brazil, China, and Ethiopia. Findings reveal a shift in global research toward sustainability, resilience, and governance, with key journals and keywords emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches. The comparative analysis highlights India’s digital reforms for transparent distribution, Brazil’s agroecological initiatives for smallholder empowerment, China’s technology-driven self-sufficiency, and Ethiopia’s community-based resilience programs. These strategies offer transferable lessons for addressing Indonesia’s logistical and climate-related challenges. The study concludes that Indonesia can enhance its food security by integrating digital governance, sustainable farming practices, technological investments, and community-driven resilience programs.

Abstract

The gig economy in Indonesia has grown rapidly, but gig workers face significant challenges, including job stress and health issues that impact their resilience. This study examines how work support influences work resilience among gig workers in North Sumatra, focusing on the mediating roles of job stress, mental health, and physical health. The objective was to investigate the direct and indirect effects of work support on resilience in a culturally relevant context. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 387 gig workers, including ride-hailing drivers, food delivery workers, and freelancers, using validated scales to measure work support, job stress, mental health, physical health, and resilience. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling to test direct and mediating relationships. The findings show that work support directly enhances resilience and indirectly improves it by reducing job stress and improving mental and physical health. The model explains a significant portion of resilience variance, highlighting the critical role of support in mitigating gig work challenges. In conclusion, comprehensive support systems are essential for fostering resilience among gig workers, particularly in Indonesia, where cultural and platform-related factors shape worker well-being.

Abstract

In the digital era, social media and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) play a crucial role in promoting beauty brands like Scarlett. This research examines the role of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in enhancing the marketing communication strategy of the Scarlett brand on Instagram and YouTube. Using qualitative research with a case study approach, this study explores how KOLs influence consumer perceptions and behaviors through content creation, storytelling, and engagement. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with KOLs who collaborate with Scarlett, and content analysis of posts shared across both platforms. The findings reveal that KOLs play a vital role in shaping brand image and generating high engagement rates, particularly when their personal values align with the brand’s messaging. On Instagram, visual appeal and personal narratives significantly capture audience attention, while on YouTube, informative and emotionally resonant videos strengthen consumer connections. The research further highlights the effectiveness of interactive features such as polls and Q&A sessions in increasing audience participation and trust. Although KOLs primarily build brand awareness rather than drive direct sales, their influence fosters curiosity and encourages product trials. The study concludes that KOLs are integral to modern marketing communication strategies, providing authenticity and credibility.

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating role of innovation capability in the relationship between organizational support, lecturer competence, and emotional intelligence on lecturer performance. Unlike previous research that emphasized only direct relationships, this study introduces innovation capability as a mediating mechanism, providing a novel perspective on how innovation strengthens lecturer performance. The research focuses on certified lecturers from private universities under the coordination of LLDIKTI Region IV in Bodetabek (Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi), Indonesia, a context that remains underexplored compared to public universities. Using a survey method, data were collected through questionnaires and interviews from a minimum sample of 354 certified lecturers, selected from a population of 3,048. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8, supported by descriptive analysis. Results show that lecturer competence has the strongest impact on innovation capability (29.44%), followed by organizational support (23.35%) and emotional intelligence (20.92%). Collectively, these variables explain 73.71% of the variance in innovation capability, which in turn significantly enhances lecturer performance, contributing 83.05%. The findings highlight the strategic role of fostering innovation capability to strengthen lecturer performance and competitiveness in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of leadership style and work motivation on work productivity at the Indonesian Business and Computer Institute. The research is driven by the strategic role of human resource management in enhancing organizational performance, where leadership and motivation are often considered key drivers of employee productivity. The purpose of this study is to determine whether these two factors significantly contribute to improving productivity within the institution. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to all 48 employees and lecturers, employing a saturated sampling technique to ensure complete representation. The data were analyzed with multiple linear regression, supported by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that both leadership style and work motivation have a statistically significant and positive effect on productivity. The regression analysis confirmed model validity, with leadership style contributing a coefficient of 0.300 (t = 4.286, p < 0.001) and work motivation showing a stronger coefficient of 0.350 (t = 5.645, p < 0.001). These findings emphasize the importance of effective leadership practices and robust motivational strategies in enhancing employee productivity.

Abstract

This study investigates the direct and indirect effects of workforce competence and Total Quality Management (TQM) implementation on employee performance in the textile and textile products (TPT) industry in West Java. Using a survey of 328 employees across major TPT firms, data were collected through structured questionnaires and interviews and analyzed with path analysis to quantify causal relationships. Results indicate that workforce competence directly improves employee performance by 26.32% and indirectly through TQM by 17.57%, contributing a total of 43.89%. Meanwhile, TQM shows a direct impact of 16.81% and a stronger indirect effect through motivation of 34.38%, highlighting its central role in enhancing employee outcomes. Together, competence and TQM account for 78.3% of performance variation, underscoring their synergistic influence in driving productivity and quality. The findings imply that investing in employee training to strengthen technical and operational competencies, alongside adopting TQM practices such as continuous improvement and employee empowerment, can significantly improve performance. This study contributes to the management literature by clarifying how competence and TQM interact in a skill-intensive and competitive industry context. Limitations include its regional focus and reliance on self-reported data. Future research should extend the scope to other industries and incorporate additional organizational factors.

Abstract

Digital transformation compels businesses to adapt human resource management (HRM) practices, yet most research emphasizes developed economies, leaving challenges in developing countries underexplored. This study addresses this gap by examining how digital businesses in Indonesia manage HRM adaptation to technological change. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, secondary data were collected from scientific journals, books, and industry reports published between 2019 and 2024 and analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings highlight three major challenges: non-standard work models, digital skill gaps, and data security risks, with 65% of Indonesian digital firms reporting difficulties in recruiting advanced digital talent. At the same time, opportunities arise from human resource information systems, global recruitment, and flexible work arrangements, with 40% of firms already leveraging international talent pools. The study concludes that effective HRM in digital businesses must prioritize digital skills training, foster innovation-driven cultures, and strengthen cybersecurity practices. By offering context-specific insights, this research contributes practical strategies for enhancing workforce adaptability and competitiveness in Indonesia’s digital economy, while also pointing to the need for further empirical studies on sector-specific HRM adaptation in developing countries.

Abstract

Regional financial management plays a central role in realizing good governance and effective public service delivery. In Indonesia, the performance of regional financial management is measured through the Regional Financial Management Index (IPKD), which serves as an accountability tool and a benchmark for improving governance quality. This study aims to identify and analyze the application of dynamic governance in regional financial management, including its inhibiting and supporting factors, as well as to formulate an implementation model of dynamic governance within the Bekasi City Government. The objective is to improve the IPKD as mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs Regulation Number 19 of 2020. A qualitative research design was employed using a governmental science methodology. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the Bekasi City Government serving as the research locus. The results indicate that dynamic governance, based on the dynamic capabilities framework, has not been carried out optimally, resulting in a suboptimal IPKD score.
