Abstract

Spatial planning has been recognized as a critical tool for guiding regional development in alignment with environmental conservation and food security objectives. However, in practice, discrepancies often exist between formal spatial planning and adaptive, locally-based agricultural systems. This gap creates a knowledge divide in understanding how spatial and agroecological aspects can be synergistically integrated to support the sustainability of agricultural areas. This study aims to explore the integration of spatial planning and agroecology practices to enhance the carrying capacity of agricultural zones within rural development areas. The research employs a qualitative approach with a sequential explanatory design, beginning with in-depth interviews with local stakeholders in North Konawe Regency. The findings indicate that strengthening the carrying capacity of agricultural areas requires a more contextual integration between spatial planning policies and community agroecological practices, which, in turn, enhances the effectiveness of regionally-based development planning. These results have theoretical implications for expanding the understanding of the interrelationship between spatial planning and agroecology, as well as practical implications for formulating policies that leverage local potentials to achieve sustainable rural development.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and cloud computing has significantly transformed Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in hospitals. This transformation aims to enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and employee well-being. However, this study explores global trends by analyzing the impacts, challenges, and opportunities of HRM digitalization in hospital settings. Technology adoption also presents challenges, including digital stress, data privacy concerns, and organizational readiness. A qualitative bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOS viewer software. A total of 131 articles were published between 2019 and 2024, indexed in the Scopus database. The findings reveal five key themes: operational efficiency, decision support systems, employee engagement, adaptive leadership, and knowledge management. India, China, and Malaysia are the top contributing countries in this research domain. Nonetheless, challenges such as infrastructure readiness, workforce training, and psychosocial impacts of digitalization remain prominent. ICT integration in hospital HRM holds great potential in supporting healthcare transformation by enhancing efficiency, training, and data-driven performance evaluation. However, a balanced digitalization strategy is needed, one that considers employee well-being and ethical concerns. Future research should further explore the role of leadership in digital change and develop sustainable frameworks to support technology-based HRM.

Abstract

Medication errors remain a critical concern in patient safety, significantly affecting the quality of healthcare services. The COVID-19 pandemic further strained global healthcare systems, exacerbating the occurrence of such errors. This study aims to explore publication trends regarding the causes and mitigation strategies of medication errors, with particular emphasis on the use of technology and reporting systems in healthcare settings. A scoping review with a qualitative approach was employed, analyzing literature published between 2019 and 2024. Relevant studies were identified, screened, and systematically analyzed using major scientific databases. The findings indicate a notable increase in publications on medication errors during 2019–2021, primarily driven by heightened stress on healthcare systems amid the pandemic. Frequently reported contributing factors include inadequate training of medical personnel, high workload, ineffective communication among healthcare professionals, and limitations in incident reporting systems. Mitigation strategies increasingly emphasize the implementation of artificial intelligence and electronic reporting systems, which have demonstrated effectiveness in detecting and preventing errors. These results underscore the importance of technology-enhanced interventions and robust reporting mechanisms to improve patient safety. Continued research and implementation efforts are essential to further reduce medication errors and strengthen healthcare quality.

Abstract

MSMEs play a vital role in driving local economic growth in emerging markets. However, many still struggle with performance issues, particularly due to weaknesses in financial management. This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy on the performance of non-agricultural MSMEs in Demak Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative survey approach was employed, using structured questionnaires distributed to 120 MSME owners selected through purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant impact on MSME performance, reflected in increased revenue, improved cost efficiency, higher profitability, and enhanced business sustainability. Improved financial decision-making, effective cash flow management, and better access to formal financial services contribute to this performance improvement. This study contributes to the literature on MSMEs in developing countries by highlighting the link between financial literacy, financial inclusion, and local economic resilience. The results provide practical implications for local governments and development stakeholders in designing inclusive and sustainable MSME empowerment programs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Abstract

Conventional projects struggle with complex accounting, weak controls, and fragmented payments that hinder administration and reporting, whereas modular prefabrication simplifies production and transaction processes. This study examines the influence of modular prefabrication on the simplification of accounting transactions and strengthening the internal control of the project, as well as formulating an applicable modular-lean-control integration model. The study employed a qualitative-quantitative case study on a prefabricated modular project, using interviews, project documents, and financial records, with value stream mapping, risk-control matrix, and pre-post quantitative comparisons for analysis. The results showed a decrease in transaction points from ±120 points to ±48 points (a decrease of around 60%), an acceleration of payment verification time from ±14 days to ±4 days (acceleration up to 70%), a reduction in administrative costs by 40-50%, and an increase in financial reporting accuracy of up to ±98%. These findings indicate that the integration of modular prefabrication with lean construction principles and based internal control can result in more effective control structures through module batch mechanisms and physical-cost verification gates. This research contributes to the development of integrative conceptual models that are relevant to industrial practice and academic research.

Abstract

Indonesia’s population reached 284.43 million in 2025, with 69.25% in the productive age. However, relatively low domestic income levels have encouraged labor mobility among Indonesian migrant workers. Despite higher earnings abroad, improved welfare remains limited, largely due to inadequate financial literacy and suboptimal financial behavior. This study examines the effect of financial literacy and financial inclusion on investment interest, with financial behavior acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey approach was employed, targeting adult respondents with investment potential. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling to assess direct and indirect relationships among variables. This research contributes to the literature by integrating a behavioral finance perspective to explain investment interest formation among Indonesian migrant workers, particularly through testing the mediating role of financial behavior. The findings reveal that financial literacy and financial inclusion significantly influence investment interest both directly and indirectly through financial behavior. The results indicate that knowledge and access to financial services do not automatically translate into investment interest, rather, behavioral mechanisms serve as a crucial linkage. These findings support behavioral finance theory, emphasizing that investment decisions are shaped by behavioral characteristics beyond purely rational considerations.

Abstract

The retail subsector companies play a key role in economic growth, and their firm value is influenced by financial performance indicators such as liquidity, which can attract investors and signal company strength. This study examines the influence of financial performance and inflation on firm value in retail sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2019–2023 period. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 28 companies with 140 observations. Financial performance in this study is proxied by the current ratio and return on assets, while firm value is measured using price to book value. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The results show that the current ratio has a negative and significant effect on firm value, while return on assets has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Inflation, however, has no significant effect on firm value. All independent variables simultaneously have a significant effect on firm value. These findings indicate that internal financial performance plays a more dominant role in shaping retail firms’ value compared to macroeconomic conditions such as inflation.

Abstract

Amid increasing labor market competition and rapid technological change, understanding the psychological factors influencing young job seekers has become increasingly important. The study addresses inconsistencies in prior findings on employability and self-efficacy, as well as limited evidence on the moderating mechanism of self-consciousness in the Indonesian context. This study examines the influence of self-perceived employability on job search intention among Generation Z in Jakarta, considering the mediating role of job search self-efficacy and the moderating role of self-consciousness. A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling, involving 197 Generation Z respondents across six municipalities in Jakarta. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modeling to test direct and mediating relationships, and regression analysis to examine moderation effects. The results indicate that self-perceived employability positively influences job search self-efficacy and job search intention, while job search self-efficacy significantly predicts job search intention. Further analysis confirms that job search self-efficacy partially mediates the employability-intention relationship, and self-consciousness strengthens the effect of self-efficacy on job search intention. These findings highlight the importance of psychological resources in shaping job search behavior among Generation Z and provide empirical insights for career development and recruitment strategies.

Abstract

Indonesia’s geographical structure as an archipelagic nation poses significant challenges for the equitable distribution of goods across its thousands of islands. This study analyzes the strategic role of Sorong Container Terminal in supporting Indonesia’s Sea Toll program and ensuring equitable goods distribution to remote regions in Eastern Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative analysis of Key Performance Indicators (Yard Occupancy Ratio, Turnaround Time, and Berth Throughput) with qualitative evaluation of policy, infrastructure, and management strategies. Results indicate that the implementation of digital systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Centra, Terminal Operating System (TOS), and integrated ERP modules has improved operational efficiency, reducing ship waiting time and increasing container handling productivity. However, limited berth and yard capacity, weak multimodal coordination, and outdated land transport infrastructure remain major bottlenecks. Trend analysis projects container volume to rise to 113,802 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) by 2036, exceeding current capacity and underscoring the urgency of expansion. The study recommends strategic measures, including infrastructure modernization, digital integration, human resource development, and sustainable energy management, to enhance competitiveness. This finding indicates that Sorong Container Terminal demonstrates strong potential as a logistics hub, driving the success of the sea toll program and promoting balanced economic growth across Eastern Indonesia.
