Abstract

Indonesia’s geographical structure as an archipelagic nation poses significant challenges for the equitable distribution of goods across its thousands of islands. This study analyzes the strategic role of Sorong Container Terminal in supporting Indonesia’s Sea Toll program and ensuring equitable goods distribution to remote regions in Eastern Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative analysis of Key Performance Indicators (Yard Occupancy Ratio, Turnaround Time, and Berth Throughput) with qualitative evaluation of policy, infrastructure, and management strategies. Results indicate that the implementation of digital systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Centra, Terminal Operating System (TOS), and integrated ERP modules has improved operational efficiency, reducing ship waiting time and increasing container handling productivity. However, limited berth and yard capacity, weak multimodal coordination, and outdated land transport infrastructure remain major bottlenecks. Trend analysis projects container volume to rise to 113,802 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) by 2036, exceeding current capacity and underscoring the urgency of expansion. The study recommends strategic measures, including infrastructure modernization, digital integration, human resource development, and sustainable energy management, to enhance competitiveness. This finding indicates that Sorong Container Terminal demonstrates strong potential as a logistics hub, driving the success of the sea toll program and promoting balanced economic growth across Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

Motivated by the need for greater efficiency and transparency in financial management, the research aims to explore how smart contracts can enhance operational practices while adhering to Islamic principles. This study examines the potential of blockchain-based smart contracts to facilitate Sharia-compliant digital transactions in Islamic boarding schools. A qualitative multiple-case study approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews with school leaders, business managers, and financial administrators from three major Islamic boarding schools, supported by analysis of financial records, transactional agreements, and regulatory documents. Findings indicate that smart contracts can significantly improve financial operations, particularly in managing business partnerships, charitable fund distribution, and educational fee structures. However, successful implementation requires addressing legal recognition of blockchain agreements, establishing accounting standards aligned with AAOIFI guidelines, and ensuring robust Sharia supervision consistent with National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council directives. The study also highlights variations in digital readiness across schools, emphasizing the need for a phased, context-sensitive adoption strategy. An integrated framework and readiness-based roadmap are proposed, offering a practical pathway for compliant and efficient digital financial management. This research contributes a novel conceptual framework bridging blockchain innovation and Islamic commercial jurisprudence, advancing the integration of Islamic fintech in traditional educational institutions.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low visibility and limited acceptance of Kediri woven textiles among younger generations, despite their strong cultural, aesthetic, and historical value. The objective of this research is to analyze consumer perceptions, perceived value, and factors influencing purchase decisions among young consumers toward Kediri weaving–based fashion, as well as to formulate appropriate design and branding strategies aligned with contemporary market needs. A qualitative case study approach was employed through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observations, and social media analysis involving 25 female informants aged 18–35 years. The findings reveal that young consumers hold positive perceptions of the cultural and aesthetic value of Kediri weaving. However, purchase intentions are hindered by limited design variation, perceptions of traditional rigidity, and relatively high prices. These findings indicate a gap between the cultural value embedded in the product and the lifestyle expectations of young consumers. The study implies that design innovation, storytelling strategies, and value proposition alignment combined with cost efficiency are essential to enhance product competitiveness. Kediri woven textiles have strong potential to be repositioned as contemporary fashion products when redesigned through a culturally grounded yet youth-oriented approach that integrates heritage values with modern consumer preferences.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of service quality and price fairness on corporate image through customer satisfaction among passengers of domestic low-cost carriers (LCCs) in Indonesia. The study employs a quantitative causal design and uses the SEM-PLS approach with SmartPLS 4.0 to test the proposed relationships among variables. Data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 203 respondents who had used domestic LCC services at least once in the past year. The results indicate that service quality has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, and price fairness also has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, service quality has a positive and significant direct effect on corporate image, while price fairness does not have a significant direct effect on corporate image. Customer satisfaction is found to have a positive and significant effect on corporate image. The mediation analysis further shows that customer satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and corporate image, as well as the relationship between price fairness and corporate image. These findings suggest that although price fairness may not directly strengthen corporate image, it can enhance corporate image indirectly by increasing customer satisfaction. The novelty of this study lies in its integrated examination of service quality, price fairness, customer satisfaction, and corporate image in the context of Indonesia’s domestic low-cost airline industry in the post-pandemic period. Keywords: Service Quality, Price Fairness, Customer Satisfaction, Corporate Image, Domestic Low-Cost Carriers

Abstract

The study specifically seeks to identify factors influencing participant acceptance, analyze the service load of the manual queuing system, and provide recommendations for effective claim service load management. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), and the Multiple Channel Queuing System framework. Results show that social influence does not significantly affect perceived usefulness, but has a significant effect on perceived ease of use. Furthermore, perceived ease of use significantly influences perceived usefulness and behavioral intention, while perceived usefulness does not significantly affect behavioral intention. Behavioral intention, in turn, has a significant effect on actual system use. While participants generally demonstrate high digital literacy, formal organizational communication channels remain underutilized. Analysis of the manual queuing system also indicates that service waiting times have not met established performance targets. This study provides an integrated analysis combining TAM, SEM-PLS, and Multiple Channel Queuing System modeling to evaluate public service performance. Findings offer strategic recommendations to optimize queue management and enhance service efficiency across branches.

Abstract

The growing use of outsourced workforces in large organizations increases the need for effective governance, transparency, and process integration in outsourcing contract management. However, many organizations still rely on manual, fragmented, and non-standardized processes that lead to delays, data inconsistencies, and operational risks. This study aims to analyze and redesign outsourcing contract management processes using a business process management approach to support structured digital transformation. This research adopts a qualitative case study methodology, employing structured interviews with key stakeholders, direct observation, and internal document analysis. Six core processes were examined: man-power planning, recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, contract renewal, and exit management. existing processes were modeled using BPMN and analyzed through value-added analysis and RACI matrix to identify inefficiencies and role concentration. Based on the findings, a redesigned process model was developed, emphasizing process standardization, system integration, and phased digitalization. The results indicate that business process management-based digitalization can improve efficiency, accountability, and cross-unit coordination, supporting smart governance in outsourcing management within an emerging-market context.
