Abstract

Employee performance is a strategic determinant for the sustainability and competitiveness of the organization, especially in the manufacturing industry that faces pressure on efficiency and production accuracy. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership, employee engagement, and work environment on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. The study used a quantitative approach by collecting data through a structured questionnaire given to all 66 permanent employees as respondents, so this study used a total sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the relationships between variables. The results of the study show that leadership, employee engagement, and work environment each have a significant partial effect on employee performance, and simultaneously, these three variables are proven to have a significant influence on improving employee performance. These findings confirm that organizational effectiveness is largely determined by the synergy between a supportive leadership style, high employee engagement, and a conducive work environment. This research makes a theoretical contribution in strengthening the understanding of the determinants of employee performance in the context of the manufacturing industry and provides practical implications for company management in formulating performance improvement strategies through strengthening leadership, optimizing engagement, and improving the work environment.

Abstract

Amid rapid organizational changes and digital transformation, understanding what drives employee engagement is crucial. This study investigates the effects of digital well-being and Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) on work engagement, with change readiness serving as an intervening variable. A quantitative study was conducted with 175 private-sector employees in Padang City, analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that change readiness has a significant positive effect on work engagement, suggesting that employees who are psychologically prepared for organizational change exhibit higher levels of energy, dedication, and work focus. Furthermore, GHRM shows both direct and indirect effects on work engagement, with change readiness acting as a significant mediating mechanism. This finding highlights the role of green HR practices in strengthening employees’ readiness to adapt to change, which subsequently enhances engagement. In contrast, digital well-being does not demonstrate a significant direct or mediated effect on work engagement in this study. The findings emphasize change readiness as a key psychological mechanism linking sustainable HR practices to positive employee outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the importance of GHRM and change readiness in fostering work engagement and provides practical implications for organizations aiming to enhance employee engagement through sustainable HR strategies.

Abstract

The Spermonde Islands, a biodiversity-rich coastal area, face escalating ecological and socioeconomic pressures, such as overfishing, pollution, coral bleaching, and shifting fish patterns, which heighten the economic vulnerability of fisher households lacking alternative livelihoods and resilience to climate and economic shocks. This research aims to uncover the community decision-making pathways that shape local economic resilience in post-crisis areas by examining the processes, patterns, and factors that influence community collective decisions in response to ecological pressures and structural change. Using an exploratory qualitative approach based on a case study in the Spermonde Islands, data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results show that local economic resilience is shaped by three main decision paths, namely diversification of livelihoods to reduce vulnerability, strengthening social networks and local institutions as a collective mechanism to face uncertainty, and adjusting coastal resource utilization strategies to ecological change. This study emphasizes that the capacity of communities to make adaptive decisions is an important determinant in maintaining the economic sustainability of the post-crisis region and contributes to the development of community-based economic resilience theories and the formulation of coastal development policies that are responsive to climate change.

Abstract

Indonesia faces waste management and financial inclusion challenges. Pegadaian’s Sorting Waste, Saving Gold program addresses both by converting sorted inorganic waste into digital gold savings that promote sustainability and financial inclusion. This study examines the program’s effects on financial independence and sustainable behavior, with financial inclusion as a mediating variable. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed through a survey of 2,173 active participants who had joined the program for at least three months and maintained active gold savings accounts. Data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. Findings reveal that the program has a positive and significant effect on financial inclusion, financial independence, and sustainable behavior. Financial inclusion plays a strong mediating role, especially in the relationship with financial independence, where the indirect effect substantially outweighs the direct effect. For sustainable behavior, the program exerts a robust direct influence that is further enhanced through financial inclusion. The program proves that linking waste management to simple financial tools can broaden inclusion, empower people economically, and build lasting eco-friendly routines. Pegadaian should scale waste bank partnerships, upgrade digital features, and add basic financial education for stronger, sustained impact.

Abstract

Education is a key determinant of economic development and should be viewed as a long-term investment in improving the human development index. Weak support for the education sector can lead to issues such as unemployment, crime, drug abuse, and increased social dependency. This study examines the effect of completion levels in vocational, academic, and professional higher education on Indonesia’s economic growth, as well as its implications for labor absorption and human development index improvement. Using a quantitative approach, the study applies multiple linear regression and panel data analysis, with higher education completion rates as independent variables and economic growth as the dependent variable. The results show that completion levels in vocational, academic, and professional higher education have a significant effect on economic growth. In addition, economic growth has a positive and significant influence on labor absorption and human development index improvement. The findings confirm that increasing access to and the quality of higher education contribute substantially to national economic growth, which in turn plays a key role in reducing unemployment and enhancing the quality of life of the Indonesian population through improved human development index.

Abstract

Firm value reflects market perceptions of a company’s performance and long-term sustainability. However, empirical evidence regarding the influence of financial management and investment decisions on firm value remains inconsistent, indicating that the underlying internal mechanisms are not fully understood. This study aims to examine the effects of financial management and investment decisions on firm value, incorporating profitability as a mediating variable for companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. A quantitative approach with a causal research design was employed, utilizing secondary data from annual financial statements covering the 2019–2023 period. Financial management and investment decisions were measured using financial structure and asset growth indicators, while profitability and firm value were assessed using profit performance ratios and market-based ratios. Data analysis was conducted through multiple linear regression, with mediation tested using the Sobel test. The results reveal that financial management and investment decisions do not consistently exert a direct effect on firm value but significantly influence it through enhanced profitability. These findings underscore the critical role of profitability as a mediating mechanism in value creation and provide practical implications for managers in formulating financial and investment policies that enhance profitability and long-term firm value.

Abstract

Organizational effectiveness depends on employee attitudes and behavior. This study aims to examine the influence of transformational leadership, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on organizational performance and to investigate the mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior in these relationships. Using a quantitative approach, data from 67 civil servants at the Class I TPI Samarinda Immigration Office were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling to assess direct and indirect relationships among key variables. The results indicate that transformational leadership and job satisfaction have a significant direct effect on organizational performance, whereas organizational commitment does not demonstrate a direct influence. Instead, job satisfaction and organizational commitment affect performance indirectly through organizational citizenship behavior. The findings show that transformational leadership and job satisfaction have a direct, significant effect on organizational performance, whereas organizational commitment does not. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment significantly promote OCB, but transformational leadership does not. OCB itself is a significant determinant of organizational performance and effectively mediates the relationships of job satisfaction and organizational commitment with performance, but not the relationship involving transformational leadership. These results emphasize the importance of enhancing employees’ job satisfaction and organizational commitment to foster discretionary behaviors that improve organizational performance.

Abstract

This study examines customer loyalty in the Indonesian motorcycle spare parts market, focusing on motorcycle body parts, which saw declining sales and rising churn between 2022 and 2024. Although prior research highlights customer engagement, corporate reputation, and customer satisfaction, studies in Indonesia have mostly assessed them separately, limiting insight into their combined impact on customer loyalty. This study aims to analyze both the direct and indirect effects of customer engagement and corporate reputation on customer loyalty through the mediating role of customer satisfaction. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 100 respondents in Cirebon using proportional stratified random sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The findings indicate that customer engagement and corporate reputation significantly enhance customer satisfaction, which in turn strengthens customer loyalty, confirming both direct and mediating relationships. These results highlight the central role of customer satisfaction in translating engagement and reputation into sustained loyalty, and provide a comprehensive framework for developing strategies that foster meaningful customer experiences, strengthen organizational credibility, and promote long-term customer loyalty. This study contributes by offering an integrated model that can guide practitioners in improving customer loyalty through a strategic focus on satisfaction.
