Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of injuries experienced by para taekwondo athletes at the Central Java Regional Training Center (Puslatda), as well as to analyze the factors causing the injuries and their impact on athlete performance. A total of 17 athletes, comprising 11 male athletes and 6 female athletes, categorized as K41, K42, and K44, participated in this study. The method used was a quantitative descriptive study with a census approach. The results showed that the most common injuries were hamstring and ankle injuries, each experienced by 100% of the athletes. Additionally, pain injuries and swelling injuries were also frequently reported. The primary causes of injuries were collisions during kicking, overtraining, and technical errors in kicking. Injury management was carried out using the R.I.C.E method and medical support from KONI and hospitals. Most athletes continued their regular training or light training after the injury. This study concluded that technical errors and overtraining are the main causes of injuries, and proper training management and correct techniques are crucial to prevent further injuries.

Abstract

The low speed of the scythe kick is a serious problem for students in the Tapak Suci MTsN Kota Palopo extracurricular program. Initial observations show that the majority of students are in the “very poor” category for scythe kick speed. This study aims to determine the effect and compare the effectiveness of resistance band training and zig-zag running on improving kicking speed. The method used is a quantitative experiment with a pretest-posttest two-group design. The sample consisted of 20 students who were purposively divided into two groups, each receiving different training treatments. The results of the study were significant in both groups. The resistance band group experienced an average increase from 13.50 to 21.90, while the zig-zag run group increased from 12.90 to 19.70. The paired sample t-test showed a significant effect of both exercises (sig. 0.000), but the independent sample t-test (sig. 0.83) showed no significant difference in effect between the two methods. The conclusion of this study is that both resistance band and zig-zag run exercises are equally effective in increasing the speed of the roundhouse kick, although resistance band exercises provide a higher average increase. A combination of both methods is highly recommended in training programs for optimal results.

Abstract

Low student interest and learning outcomes in physical fitness classes at SDN 29 Songka were the background for this study. The main problems included a monotonous learning atmosphere, lack of active participation, and student motivation, as evidenced by only 44% of students achieving the minimum passing grade (KKM) at the beginning of the study. This study aims to improve students' physical fitness learning outcomes through the application of ice breaking techniques. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed a significant increase in learning outcomes in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. Classical mastery of knowledge increased from 48% (Cycle I) to 84% (Cycle II). In the skill domain, mastery increased from 60% to 96%, and in the attitude domain from 72% to 100%. The application of ice breaking successfully created a pleasant learning atmosphere and increased student activity. It was concluded that the application of ice breaking was effective in improving learning outcomes and student interest in physical fitness learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the physical fitness levels of elementary and middle school students in Golewa District. This quantitative cross-sectional study involved a population of 547 students from 5 schools. A sample of 222 students was selected purposively. The measurement instrument used was the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI). Data analysis techniques were analyzed descriptively using SPSS 25 and TKSI standard norms. The results of the fitness study did not increase linearly with age. Phases A (grades 1-2 elementary school) and C (grades 5-6 elementary school) showed a good category (scores of 3.96 and 3.92), while phases B (grades 3-4 elementary school), D (junior high school), and EF (senior high school) were in the sufficient category (scores of 3.4, 3.58, and 3.54). Cardiovascular endurance declined consistently to the poor category (2.7) in high school, while muscle strength remained relatively stable. The results show a fluctuating pattern of fitness development. Fitness was relatively high in the early phase (grades 1–2) and late elementary school (grades 5–6), but declined in the middle of elementary school (grades 3–4) and remained consistently low in junior high and high school. The component that declined the most was cardiovascular endurance, while muscle strength remained relatively stable in all phases. It was concluded that fitness development is fluctuating and is determined more by the quality of learning and consistency of physical activity than by age alone.

Abstract

The main problem in this study was the low quality of passing, particularly in terms of strength and speed, among futsal extracurricular students at SMAN 6 Palopo. This study aims to analyze the effect of training using belt training and ankle weights on improving passing skills. The method used is an experiment with a pretest-posttest two-group design. A total of 30 students were divided into two groups: Group A was given training using belt training and Group B used ankle weights for 16 sessions. Passing ability was measured using a 30-second wall passing test. Data analysis showed that both groups experienced a significant improvement in passing after the treatment, based on the paired sample t-test (p < 0.05). However, the independent sample t-test proved that there was a significant difference between the two groups (p = 0.000). The belt training group showed a greater average improvement (from 13.07 to 19.33) than the ankle band group (from 12.80 to 16.20). The conclusion of this study is that although both are effective, training using belt training proved to be statistically more effective than ankle bands in improving students' futsal passing skills.

Abstract

Low shooting accuracy is a problem faced by SSB MIJ players. This study aims to analyze the effect of modified training equipment (target net) and resistance bands on improving shooting accuracy. The method used is quantitative with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 players divided into two groups. The measurement instrument used was the Bobby Charlton shooting test. The data were analyzed using a t-test with SPSS. The results showed that both training methods were significant in improving shooting accuracy. The t-value (8.260) was greater than the t-table (2.093) with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. Only one player did not experience an improvement. The results of the independent sample t-test also showed a significant difference between the two groups. More specifically, the group that used the modified target net showed a more effective improvement than the group that used resistance bands. The conclusion of this study is that both the modified target net and resistance bands have a positive effect on shooting accuracy, but training with the target net proved to be more effective. Therefore, this modification of training equipment can be recommended to coaches as an applicable training method to improve the shooting accuracy of young soccer players.

Abstract

Bullying remains a persistent problem in schools, negatively impacting students' psychological and social well-being. While physical education has the potential to foster positive character traits, the use of traditional games to promote anti-bullying attitudes is still underexplored, and physical education teachers do not yet have a structured model for implementing such approaches effectively. This research utilized a Research and Development (R&D) approach conducted in Lombok, Indonesia. The development procedure included needs analysis, model design, expert validation, limited field trial, extensive field trial, and iterative revisions. A limited trial was carried out with 30 elementary school students, while the extensive trial involved 120 students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The developed model, based on traditional games such as gobak sodor, fort and engklek, was validated by experts and successfully implemented in selected schools. Results indicated significant improvements in students’ empathy and mutual respect, accompanied by a noticeable reduction in aggressive behavior. Teachers reported high acceptance and ease of application. The study concludes that integrating traditional games into physical education lessons can foster anti-bullying attitudes in students. This culturally grounded, character-focused model enhances social-emotional learning and provides practical tools for educators to address bullying through inclusive and meaningful physical activity.

Abstract

The main problem is low vo₂max capacity, which causes early fatigue and a significant decline in performance at the end of the game, thereby impacting achievement. This study aims to determine the effect of interval training on increasing the vo₂max of these adolescent athletes. The method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research population consisted of 24 athletes, with a sample of 10 adolescent athletes selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used to measure vo₂max was the multistage fitness test or bleep test. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results showed an average increase in vo₂max of 3.16 mL/kg/minute, from 36.95 mL/kg/minute (fair/poor category) to 40.11 mL/kg/minute (fair/good category), with a t-test significance value of less than 0.08. The discussion confirmed that interval training for 16 sessions effectively stimulated an increase in the efficiency of the oxygen transport system and cardiorespiratory endurance in adolescents. The conclusion of the study proved that interval training has a significant and effective influence on increasing vo₂max, so it can be integrated into physical training programs to improve the stamina and competitive performance of adolescent pencak silat athletes.
