Abstract

This study aims to identify the causes of errors made by students in solving limit function problems. Limit concepts often present challenges to students due to their complexity, which can lead to confusion. In this research, four students from the Mathematics Education Program at Universitas Negeri Medan served as the subjects, participating in interviews and written tests. They were given limit problems to assess their difficulties in understanding the material. The findings revealed a variety of errors made by the students. Approximately 75% of these errors were due to their inability to organize proper solution steps and incorrect application of formulas. Additionally, 50% of the errors resulted from a lack of understanding of the definition of limits, while 25% were attributed to calculation mistakes or oversights. These results indicate that many students still struggle with the fundamental concepts of limits and the correct methods for solving these problems. To improve student comprehension in this area, it is recommended to implement more interactive and focused teaching methods, enabling them to better grasp the concepts of limits and the appropriate techniques for problem-solving.

Abstract

The agricultural sector faces major risks due to extreme climate change, market uncertainty and economic fluctuations, which can destabilize global food production. Agricultural insurance, despite its importance as a risk mitigation tool for farmers, still has limited article reviews compared to other insurance sectors such as health, life, and property. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of global research on agricultural insurance over the past two decades, focusing on publication trends, the most influential countries and journals, keyword analysis, and providing directions for future research. The study used data from Scopus with a total of 643 documents. Analysis was conducted using VOS viewer, RStudio, and Tableau to visualize collaboration patterns, dominant keywords, and global publication trends. The analysis shows a significant increase in the number of studies on agricultural insurance, which reinforces the urgency of insurance in supporting global food stability. The implications of this research point to the need to develop insurance models that are technology-based and more adaptive to climate change, especially to expand access for smallholder farmers in developing countries. Recommendations for future research are to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and technological innovation to support the sustainability and resilience of the agricultural sector in the future.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects the growth and development of children in developing countries, including Indonesia. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2023 reached 21.5%, with East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province recording a significantly high rate of 37.9%. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing stunting among children under five in NTT Province in 2023 using the Finite Mixture Partial Least Square (FIMIX-PLS) approach. The factors analyzed include healthcare services, socioeconomic conditions, environment, and immunization. The data analysis technique involved modeling using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), beginning with construct validity and reliability testing, followed by data segmentation using FIMIX-PLS to identify heterogeneity and classify districts/cities based on the pattern of relationships among latent variables. The results of the analysis indicate the presence of data heterogeneity across regions, with several indicators showing significant variation between areas. These findings are expected to provide deeper insights into the contributing factors of stunting and assist in formulating more effective policies to reduce stunting rates in NTT.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skill (KKM) is the ability of students to communicate ideas in writing to solve problems. However, students still have not been able to solve the problem and do not write conclusions. So it is necessary to apply the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model with a realistic approach to student KKM. The TSTS learning model can give students freedom to understand the material, develop mathematical ideas, write, and convey the results of their thinking to other students. This research was an experimental research with a posttest-only nonequivalent groups design. Sampling was conducted using the purposive sampling technique based on consideration of the lowest class average score, and a population equality test was performed using a one-way ANOVA test. Data collection was carried out using a posttest containing 4 questions and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that the value of Fcount: 6.629159 > Ftable: 4.003983, so that the learning model affects math communication skill. Furthermore, a double comparison test was conducted with the Scheffe method and obtained that Fcount: 6.5863 > Ftable: 4.003983, which shows a significant difference between the average of the TSTS learning model with a realistic approach and the conventional learning model. So, it is concluded that the TSTS learning model with a realist approach is the best.

Abstract

Abstract This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of circles in class VIII-A of SMP Negeri 2 Mataram. The aim of this research was to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. This study was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in three cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The CRT approach was applied by developing student worksheets (LKPD) that reflected local culture and students’ daily experiences, as well as using contextual PowerPoint-based media. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation of student activities. The results showed an increase in students’ average scores from 49.42 in the pre-cycle to 83.02 in the third cycle, with the percentage of classical completeness increasing from 13.95% to 86.04%. In addition to cognitive improvement, student engagement during the learning process also showed positive development. The implementation of the PBL model combined with the CRT approach proved to be effective in creating meaningful, contextual, and relevant mathematics learning experiences for students.

Abstract

One of the crucial basic knowledge is mathematics, which not only continues to develop but also underlies technological progress and human thinking. Although important, mathematics learning, especially at the elementary school level, is often hampered by the abstract nature of its concepts, especially for students who need a concrete understanding of concepts. This research aims to determine the increase in conceptual understanding of class II students at SDN Jati Wetan 2 through the application of BICOLA (Congklak Bianglala) media in multiplication material. This research is Classroom Action Research. The data collection stage in this classroom action research is two cycles consisting of 3 meetings in each cycle. Each cycle consists of (1) Planning; (2) Implementation; (3) Observation; and (4) Reflection. Data collection techniques through observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results of this research show that there is an increase in students' understanding of the concept of multiplication material. Comparison of the percentage of achievement of completeness, initially only 4 students were able to achieve a score > 75 in the first cycle, and increased to 10 students in the second cycle from 12 students in the class. The average learning test results also increased, from 56.2 in the pretest to 62.9 in the first cycle, and increased to 83.3 in the second cycle. The level of students' understanding of concepts increased from the first cycle by 70.66 to 80.66 in the second cycle. Abstract

PT. Pertamina (Persero) is one of the providers of refueling services in Indonesia. The role of Fuel Oil (BBM) is very important in people's lives, so to meet fuel needs, this company has built a Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU). Petrol stations are a means to distribute fuel oil. As one of the companies that provide fuel in Indonesia, this company must pay attention to the quality of service. One of the strategic petrol stations in Mataram City is the petrol station 54.832.12 Jl. Gajah Mada Pagesangan, Mataram City. The large number of pertalite refueling during peak times in the morning and evening at this petrol station resulted in queues, so a study was carried out on the optimal condition of petrol station services based on the number of noozles using the Monte Carlo simulation method, by modifying the generation of random numbers using the Linear Congruent Method (LCM) random number generation. The simulation is carried out based on the arrival time and service time taken every 3 minutes 100 times. By conducting simulations 500 times and as many as 10 activities, optimal conditions were analyzed based on the number of noozles. The results obtained show that as many as 4 noozles are needed on the pertalite motorcycle dispenser to get optimal conditions because the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.51 vehicles, and the Pertalite Car dispenser is enough with 1 noozle, the average remaining queue is close to 1, which is 1.62 vehicles.

Abstract

A bank is a financial institution that plays an important role in fulfilling and providing various financial services to customers. The increase in the number of customers and service time leads to queuing, especially at the teller section, thereby affecting waiting times. This article discusses customer queues at the teller service of Bank R in West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). Queues arise when service demand exceeds available capacity, causing customers to wait due to limited teller services. This study aims to analyze the optimization of the queuing system at teller services using the Multi-Channel Single-Phase queuing model. This model features multiple entry lines into the service system but only one service facility. The results show that the service intensity level () from Monday to Friday is , , , , and , respectively. Since , the steady-state condition is met. Thus, the queuing system performance can be considered optimal.
