Abstract

Mathematics is very useful for human life but many students find mathematics difficult and can only understood by smart students. Basedon observations concluded that students are very difficult to understand mathematical material even though it is often explained. Bisedes that students ask questions and answer questions are still low, forgetting about materil that has been studied or previously taught is a frequentoccurrence. One of the efforts that is considered capable of improving learning outcomes is by applying the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) lerning model. On the VI semester student opportunity theory material, the mathematics study program of STKIP Bimis a quantitativeb research. Data collection techniques using tests and data analysis using t-test. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that there was an influence of the use of the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning model in improving student learning outcomes in the opportunity theory material in VI semester. This can be seen from the t-test value greater than t-table or 3,549 > 2,02. AbstrakMatematika sangat berguna bagi kehidupan manusia akan tetapi, banyak peserta didik yang beranggapan bahwa pelajaran matematika adalah pelajaran yang sulit, yang hanya dapat dikuasai oleh siswa yang pintar saja. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa sangat sulit memahami materi matematika meskipun sudah berulang kali dijelaskan. Selain itu inisiatif mahasiswa untuk bertanya dan menjawab soal masih tergolong rendah, Lupa terhadap materi yang sudah dipelajari atau telah diajarkan sebelumnya merupakan kejadian sering terjadi. Salah satu upaya yang dianggap mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran TAI (Team Assisted Individualization). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) materi teori peluang pada mahasiswa semester VI program studi matematika STKIPBima. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan model TAI (Team assisted individualization) dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah teori peluang di semester VI. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai thitung lebih besar dari pada ttabel (thitung > ttabel atau 3,549 > 2,02.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the types of errors of students of class VIII-6 of SMP in solving problems with the circle subject. 2) the factors that cause students of class VIII-6 of SMP to make mistakes in solving problems with the circle subject. This research is classified as descriptive quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of class VIII-6 SMP which consisted of seven classes. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The research subjects were students of class VIII-6 SMP as many as 28 students. The research procedure used in this research is written test and interview. The test was used to analyze reading errors, comprehension errors, transformation errors, processing skills error and encoding error. Meanwhile, interviews are used to trace students mistakes in depth. The instrument testing conducted was a content validity tester in consultation with experts, namely mathematics teachers and leacturers. The result showed that there were 5 types of error categories committed by students of SMP, namely: 1) reading errors of 13,94% were in the low error category. 2) comprehension error of 47,61% is in the sufficient error category. 3) transformation error of 57,53% is in the sufficient error category. 4) process skills error as much as 66,66% in the high error category. 5) encoding error of 94,39% in the very high error category..

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning motivation and mathematics anxiety on mathematics learning outcomes through metacognition ability. This research is an ex-post facto research with a sample of 78 students, namely class XI MIPA 1 and class XI MIPA 3 SMA who were selected using cluster random sampling. The data collection technique used the following instruments: learning motivation questionnaire, mathematics anxiety questionnaire, metacognition ability questionnaire, and mathematics learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the trimming model path analysis. The results showed that: (1) student learning motivation has a direct and significant effect on students' metacognition abilities, (2) learning motivation has an indirect effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes through students' metacognition abilities, (3) student learning anxiety has an indirect effect on student learning outcomes through k students' metacognition abilities

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine students' perceptions of online mathematics learning using the classroom application during the COVID-19 pandemic in class VIII students of SMP. Subjects taken for this study amounted to 7 students and 1 teacher of mathematics. Data collection techniques were carried out with observation and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques used are reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The result obtained is that students' perceptions of online learning in mathematics subjects during the Covid-19 pandemic have a negative perception of online learning of mathematics subject matter. This is because the majority of students do not understand the online learning material that is delivered, how to deliver math material which is considered less attractive, as well as student opinions about online learning which is considered less effective, and students feel unhelpful and hinder in accepting the online learning system.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical critical thinking skills of eighth grade students of MTs Muhammadiyah Likuboddong in the 2020/2021 academic year in solving flat shape problems. This research is a research that uses a descriptive qualitative approach which is designed to determine the students' mathematical critical thinking skills in solving problems of flat shapes. The data analyzed is the data of students' mathematical critical thinking skills. The data collection method used is the provision of essay tests and interviews. The questions used in measuring students' mathematical critical thinking skills, totaling 3 questions, are questions that contain indicators of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. These questions were done by 15 students in 35 minutes and the interviews aimed to determine the students' ability to think critically mathematically. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical critical thinking skills in class VIII.B Mts fulfills the indicators of mathematical critical thinking

Abstract

Mathematics is a science that is essentially abstract. Mathematics is also a science that has regular patterns related to ideas, processes, and reasoning. Learning media is anything that can be used to convey messages or information in the teaching and learning process so that it can stimulate students' attention and interest in learning. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. Quantitative research method is one type of research whose specifications are systematic, well-planned and clearly structured from the beginning to the making of the research design. The subjects of this study were the seventh grade students, totaling 16 students. This research was carried out in 4 meetings, namely as follows: (1) the process of implementing the initial test, (2) the process of implementing the first learning, (3) the second learning process, (4) the process of implementing the formative test. Quantitative data in the form of student learning outcomes obtained through tests. The results showed that there was an increase in the line and angle material for class VII Trinitas Lorwembun Junior High School using the Ludo game mathematics learning media, namely 16 students with a percentage of 100% experiencing completeness in the learning process.

Abstract

Integral calculus is one of the mathematics courses that requires an adequate level of reasoning, communication skills and higher-order thinking skills to be able to understand and solve problems. The purpose of this study was to identify student errors based on Newman's Error Analysis (NEA) in solving integral calculus problems accompanied by the provision of scaffolding. The research subjects were students of STKIP Hermon Timika's Mathematics Education Study Program who attended integral calculus lectures. The results showed that there were no errors made by students on indicator type 1 (reading error), the average student made an error in indicator 2 (comprehension error) of 39%, the average error on indicator 3 (transformation error) was 71%. , the average error in indicator 4 (process skills error) is 76% and the average error most often made in indicator 5 (encoding error) is 87%. The scaffolding used to overcome all student errors only reached level 2 scaffolding, namely explaining, reviewing, and restructuring. The provision of scaffolding by lecturers is to explain, review and restructure so as to encourage students to correct these mistakes. Based on the results of this study, lecturers are expected to conduct meaningful lecture activities for students of STKIP Hermon Timika's Mathematics Education Study, so that it is not easy to forget the material concepts that have been explained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of problem solving in the material system of two variables linear equations based on the level of mathematical ability of students categorized in 3 levels, namely high, medium and low. In addition, it was also to find out the problem-solving ability for each step of the solution. The population in this study was students of class VIII SMP Negeri 7 Mataram, with a sample of class VIII.B. Where the sampling technique was done by researcher based on certain considerations that best meet the information needed in research. This type of research was qualitative descriptive study. The results showed that students with high mathematical ability had an average problem solving ability of 66.2 with good criteria. Students with moderate mathematical ability had an average problem solving ability of 58.0 with sufficient criteria. Students with low levels of mathematical ability had an average problem solving ability of 40.5 with low criteria. The average problem solving ability of students was 56.3 with sufficient criteria.

Abstract

Mathematical resilience is a positive affective trait of students when learning mathematics. This study aims to obtain an overview of the mathematical resilience of junior high school students on the SPLDV material. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Contributing by taking 30 students of class VIII as research subjects. The research subjects used were selected by purposive sampling. The instrument used is a mathematical resilience questionnaire on the material of a two-variable linier equation system. Steps in data analysis include: (1) reduction of data and categories; (2) data presentation; and (3) drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Sumbang were divided into 3 levels of mathematical resilience, namely students who had a high level of mathematical resilience had high confidence, were very easy to socialize, had high mathematical communication skills, had excellent self-control and high self-motivation; students who have a moderate level of mathematical resilience have good confidence and trust, have poor mathematical communication skills, are less able to socialize, lack self-control but still have self-motivation to correct failures; students who have low levels of mathematical resilience have low confidence, low self-motivation, have difficulty socializing, have low mathematical abilities, and have low self-control because they are easily frustrated.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out mathematics learning using a realistic learning model on exponent numbers in class IX of junior high school 5 north Tanimbar, Tanimbar Islands Regency. The subjects of this study were students of class IX of junior high school 5 north Tanimbar, Tanimbar Islands Regency, totaling 23 students. This research was carried out in 4 meetings, namely (1) the implementation of the initial test, (2) the implementation of the first learning, (3) the implementation of the second learning, (4) the implementation of the formative test. Quantitative data in the form of student learning outcomes obtained through tests. The results showed that : (1) there was an increase in student learning outcomes by learning using the PMR model.
