Abstract

Background: Early marriage remains a social problem influenced by community norms, family pressure, and low psychological readiness of adolescents. Objective: This study aims to describe the role of community-based psychological services in preventing early marriage among adolescents through the Village G Children's Forum. Method: The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with adolescents aged 12–17 years who are members of the Children's Forum as subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and qualitative psychoeducational assessments. Analysis was conducted using thematic analysis with data triangulation. The results showed that before the intervention, early marriage was perceived as a normal practice, accompanied by low future orientation and adolescent self-efficacy. Result: After the intervention, adolescents showed increased awareness of the psychological impacts of early marriage and the importance of psychological readiness in life decision-making. Conclusion: This study concludes that community-based psychological services through the Children's Forum play an effective early preventive role in increasing adolescents' awareness and critical reflection on early marriage.

Abstract

Background: Learning responsibility is an important personality characteristic for students, as it has an impact on academic achievement. However, in reality, many university students still demonstrate low levels of learning responsibility. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of mastery goal orientation on learning responsibility through self-regulated learning as a mediator among university students in Surabaya. Method: The participants in this study were 384 university students in Surabaya. Data were collected using Likert-scale instruments measuring mastery goal orientation, self-regulated learning, and learning responsibility. Data were analyzed using path analysis. Results: The results of the path analysis indicated a significant relationship between mastery goal orientation and self-regulated learning (p < 0.05); a significant relationship between mastery goal orientation and learning responsibility (p < 0.05); and a significant relationship between self-regulated learning and learning responsibility (p < 0.05). Hypothesis testing using the Sobel test yielded a calculated t-value of 2.77, which was greater than the critical t-value (2.77 > 1.96) at a significance level of 0.05. Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that self- regulated learning mediates the relationship between mastery goal orientation and learning responsibility.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to empirically examine the influence of brand image and product quality on the purchase intention of Samsung smartphones among millennials. Brand image in this research includes three dimensions: mystery, sensuality, and intimacy. Meanwhile, product quality is measured through six dimensions: performance, reliability, features, durability, conformance quality, and style. Purchase intention consists of transactional, referential, preferential, and exploratory dimensions. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Method: The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with an incidental sampling method, involving 69 respondents who are millennial users of Samsung smartphones at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik. Data were collected using three scales: brand image, product quality, and purchase intention—developed based on relevant theories and tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. Result: . The results showed that brand image and product quality simultaneously have a significant effect on purchase intention (F = 79.588; p < 0.05). Partially, brand image significantly influences purchase intention (t = 4.226; p < 0.05), as does product quality (t = 8.277; p < 0.05). The adjusted R square value of 0.585 indicates that 58.5% of the variance in purchase intention can be explained by brand image and product quality. Conclusion: These findings suggest that a strong brand image and high perceived product quality can enhance millennials' intention to purchase Samsung smartphones.

Abstract

Sincerity is a simple trait to talk about, but ultimately very difficult to practice. In addition, the trait of riya' (showing off) is feared to be one of the factors that can undermine a person's intention to be sincere in helping others. Preliminary studies show that there are still other motives and behaviors similar to riya' and other purposes among zakat volunteers. Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the description of sincerity among zakat volunteers, specifically volunteers from the Solo branch of Lazismu Central Java. Method: The informants in this study were zakat volunteers with the following criteria: male/female students aged 18-24 years old, and directly involved in the Solo branch of Lazismu Central Java. There were 4 informants. The data source used was primary data. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling. The data collection technique used in this study was semi-structured interviews.  The data analysis technique used the Atlas.ti application and the Interactive Analysis Model technique from Miles and Huberman. Results: The results of the study show that there are main themes that can describe the sincerity of volunteers in carrying out their duties as zakat volunteers, namely: : (1) motivation to become a volunteer, (2) response to conflict, (3) social appreciation, and (4) intention. The informants in this study tend to behave sincerely in their roles as zakat volunteers within the zakat institution.

Abstract

Background: Cases of sexual violence against children, especially girls, are still rampant, one of which is in the form of child grooming. Their lack of understanding of the signs of grooming and self protection skills makes them more vulnerable to becoming victims. Objective: This study aims to examine whether personal safety psychoeducation is effective in increasing junior high school girls' awareness of the dangers of child grooming. Method: This study used an experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design, involving 8 female junior high school students at SMP X in Boyolali. Participants were obtained using purposive sampling. The research instrument was a child grooming scale compiled with reference to the aspects proposed by O'Connell. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the help of SPSS version 22 software. Result: The study showed that personal safety psychoeducation was effective in increasing the awareness of junior high school students at SMP X. This was evidenced by an increase in personal safety skills scores and an increase in students' awareness of the dangers of child grooming, with a significance value of 0.018 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Education on personal safety skills is important for adolescent girls to avoid the dangers of child grooming, which is a subtle and gradual form of abuse. By understanding these dangers and having good personal safety skills, the number of victims of child sexual abuse can be minimized.

Abstract

Background: Generation Z, as digital natives, brings unique characteristics to the learning process, including a preference for fast, practical, and relevant learning. In vocational education, which is required to adapt to industry needs in the digital era, a mismatch between student expectations and the reality of learning can trigger academic stress. Objective: This study aims to explore the forms of academic stressors, understand the meaning of stressful experiences, and identify the influence of technology and digital media on academic stress among Generation Z vocational students. Method: Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, this study involved seven vocational students from various disciplines through in-depth interviews. Results: Results indicate that academic stress is influenced by high task demands, an imbalance between theory and practice, and obstacles to online learning such as technical glitches and internet dependence. Social media exacerbates stress through social comparison and pressure to perform productively, although it still provides social support. Students also reported a decreased sense of control in the digital ecosystem, although some are able to adapt through independent time management. Conclusion: These findings emphasize the need for responsive vocational education policies, improved digital platform quality, academic flexibility, and counseling services to support student mental well-being.

Abstract

Background: Generation Z employees in Indonesia face dynamic demands from both work and personal life, making work-life integration (WLI) a critical issue. WLI emphasizes the blending of work and personal roles, while organizational commitment (OC) reflects employees’ attachment and loyalty to the organization. Understanding how WLI influences OC is essential in the current context of flexible work arrangements. Objective: This study aims to investigate and analyze the role of work-life integration in influencing organizational commitment among Generation Z employees in Indonesia. Method: A quantitative non-experimental approach with purposive sampling was employed, involving 211 employees from various industries. Data were collected using WLI scales and OC questionnaires, then analyzed using simple linear regression and difference tests to examine both the overall effect and dimensions of OC. Result: The findings show that WLI and OC levels are moderate. Regression analysis indicates that WLI does not significantly affect OC, either overall or within affective, continuance, and normative commitment dimensions. Difference tests reveal significant variations in WLI based on work system, while other demographic characteristics have no significant effect. Conclusion: Although Generation Z employees exhibit moderate levels of WLI and OC, these variables do not have a significant relationship, suggesting that other factors beyond WLI may influence organizational commitment.
