Abstract

Media is a means that can be used to convey information to students, one of which is learning constructivism. In learning. Constructivism is one of the schools of philosophy of knowledge which emphasizes that our knowledge is our own (formed) construction. At present a teacher must stimulate students so that students become more active. The learning delivered by the teacher that is theoretical will get less than optimal results. Learning media becomes interesting when it can contribute positively to learning outcomes. because every subject that is usually considered difficult to understand becomes very interesting, the learning media also has an aesthetic appeal so that an attractive and eye-catching display will motivate users to be involved in the learning process. The results of the study showed that the application of learning media in the activities of explaining science lessons in class could optimize students' learning motivation.

Teachers who have given the same lessons and the same method to students in one class but still have students who cannot absorb the lessons well even though they have the same perfect ones if they are seen with ordinary eyes. This is what found learning difficulties to exist. Where learning difficulties and student development will produce obstacles in information. Learning difficulties are internal and external factors. In this case, learning difficulties can be done because students relate to the psyche of students or with different learning with learning difficulties due to physical factors or physical disabilities. And the teacher must have the ability to discuss students who discuss learning difficulties. Where before solving the problem, the teacher must find out the causes of learning difficulties occur in a student. And if you already know the learning factors from which the teacher can provide different methods in each material that will be taught.

Abstract

The research aims to increase the activity and learning outcomes of the human circulatory system by applying discovery learning combined with quiz games. The learning process that has not been centered on students, makes learning activities less and results in low student learning outcomes. The application of discovery learning is expected to make learning more meaningful, because it will change the passive learning conditions to be active and creative so that students can gain their own knowledge about the human circulatory system. The results showed 88.9% of students completed with an average value of 79.6. The application of discovery learning combined with quiz games has been proven to be able to increase the activity and learning outcomes of the human blood circulation system in grade VIII B students of Maesan 1 Junior High School in 2018/2019 Academic Year.

Abstract

The main problem in learning science which until now has not yet been completely solved is by the assumption in students that this lesson is difficult to understand and understand. The main factor of this reality seems to be due to the lack of connection in learning science with everyday life. The Project-Based Learning model with the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is very suitable to overcome these problems because the learning process involves students working collaboratively by combining two or more disciplines. This research is a quasi-experimental which aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning learning model with the STEM approach to collaborative skills and student learning outcomes. Assessment of students' collaborative skills is obtained when students work on assignments in groups with the guidelines for the collaborative skills rubric. Student learning outcomes are obtained from pre-test and post-test scores.

Abstract

The demand for senior high school curriculum based on the 21st century requires students to have 4C skills (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving, and Creativity and Innovation), but the fact is many students who are passive in the learning process so that learning outcomes and thinking skills critical is still low. Learning that can actively involve students can be done using the Brain-Based Learning (BBL) learning model which is modified with the Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) approach. The purpose of this study is to produce a valid, practical, and effective BBL-SSI learning model to improve learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The type of research is research and development. The stages of the development model in this study used the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). This research was conducted at Pakusari Jember Public High School in the subject of class X students in the academic year 2019/2020. The average validation results for all products was 91.4 categorized as very valid. The effectiveness of learning outcomes based on the results of Normalized Gain analysis that was equal to 0.62 categorized as moderate and 0.71 categorized high. Psychomotor learning outcomes have increased every meeting, which was 79 and 83. Students' critical thinking skills also have increased each meeting, with a value of 65.12 which is categorized sufficiently and 71.36 which was categorized very well. The practicality results obtained from the teacher response questionnaire were 98 excellent categories and the student response questionnaire was 84.33 with very good categories.

One of the banana production centers is in Lumajang Regency, precisely in Pasrujambe District. The diversity of banana varieties in Pasrujambe District is still not widely known by the community so that the community itself has not been able to determine a clear standard of banana diversity including because bananas also receive less attention from the government and supervision related to aspects of cultivation, breeding activities, and conservation regarding the preservation of banana germplasm. This became the basis for exploring the diversity of banana variety of data collection in the Pasrujambe District, Lumajang Regency. This research was conducted at the centers of banana collectors located in the District of Pasrujambe, Lumajang Regency in December 2019-February 2020. Taking samples by taking bananas based on the morphology of bananas. The sample obtained can be directly identified (identification of bananas assisted by the Pasrujambe Agricultural Office) using interview and observation methods. Then the results obtained are calculated diversity level using the Shannon-Wienner diversity index formula. The results of this study were found 6 banana varieties, namely mas kirana, grand semeru varieties, milk varieties, ambon varieties, king varieties, and kepok varieties which were scattered in several collectors centers in Pasrujambe District.
