Abstract

This research aims to determine the performance, alternatives, and strategic priorities that can be implemented. The research was conducted in Tunglur Village, Badas District, Kediri Regency. The data analysis methods used are the IFE matrix, EFE matrix, SWOT matrix, and QSP matrix. The research results show that (1) the main driver for the development of the Gurami fishing industry in Kediri Regency is focused on expansion. Meanwhile, the most basic weakness is limited capital. The main opportunity is that many parties support the development of gourami fish commodities, while the biggest threat is the increase in prices of production factors. (2) Eight alternative strategies are proposed, namely two S-O strategies, two W-O strategies, two S-T strategies, and two W-T strategies. 3) The final strategic priority is to maintain the market and further strengthen relationships with stakeholders to invest in developing the gourami fish industry.

Abstract

Bonylip barb fish is an aquaculture commodity that has the potential to be developed in Banyumas district. In its cultivation activities, bonylip barb are able to consume artificial feed well. The feed consumed will affect the digestive condition. The fish digestive tract is a complex system whose main functions are digestion and absorption. Nutrient absorption in intestinal cells is influenced by active transport of Na+ (sodium) ions. Na+ and Cl ion levels are obtained through water and feed. This study aims to determine the effect of salt supplementation in commercial feed with different concentrations on bacterial abundance. The research was carried out experimentally with salt supplementation doses (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4%; w/w) to be applied to bonylip barb seeds (5-7 cm) for 60 days. Research parameters include bacterial abundance, positive and negative gram tests. The results showed that the treatment with the addition of 2% NaCl gave a total number of bacteria that tended to be higher than the control (0% NaCl). The total number of bacteria in the digestive tract of Nilem fish that were given NaCl addition to the feed ranged from 3.78 ± 6.27 x 106 CFU/gram to 32.04 ± 19.51 x 106 CFU/gram. The addition of NaCl affects the proportion of gram positive and negative in the digestive tract of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Gram positive bacteria tended to dominate in the 2% NaCl treatment at 69.99% and gram negative bacteria at 21.69%.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos are animals that settle at the bottom of the waters with limited movement and are sensitive to changes in water quality so that they can be used as bioindicators of water quality. Examples of macrozoobenthos are snails, crabs, clams, shellfish, and insect larvae. Not much research has been done on macrozoobenthos, especially in the upper reaches of the Brantas River, so it is necessary to identify macrozoobenthos which can be used as bio-indicators of pollution levels in the upper reaches of the Brantas River. Macrozoobenthos sampling was carried out by kicking and jabbing techniques. Samples that were ready were then observed with the help of a stereo microscope and identified up to the family level. 24 families of macrozoobenthos (Parathhelpusidae, Palaemonidae, Tubificidae, Dugesiidae, Erpobdellidae, Thiaridae, Physidae, Gomphidae, Hydropsychidae, Chironomidae, Perlidae, Scyomizidae, Amphipterygidae, Baetidae, Tipulidae), 6 orders (Lumbricullidae, Epheroptera, Diptera, Planaria, Coleoptera, Trichopteran), and 4 classes (Malacostraca, Citellata, Gastropods, and Insects).

Abstract

The green mussel (Perna viridis) is an important commodity in marine aquaculture. A challenge in green mussel cultivation is the presence of diseases caused by parasites that attach or live on the mussels. This research aims to determine the abundance of ectoparasites and competitors on green mussels in the mentioned waters. The research methods employed both qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches. The observed research variables included species identification, prevalence and intensity of ectoparasites, as well as diversity and abundance of competitors. The findings revealed the presence of 2 ectoparasite species and 10 competitor species. The highest prevalence of Balanus sp. was recorded in Bagan Tancap I for mussels larger than 4 cm, at 79.6%±6.16 (moderate), while the lowest prevalence was in Bagan Tancap II for mussels smaller than 4 cm, at 33.3%±1.05 (common). The highest intensity of Balanus sp. ectoparasite attacks occurred in Bagan Tancap I for mussels larger than 4 cm, at 7.18 ind/mussel (moderate), and the lowest intensity was in Bagan Tancap II for mussels smaller than 4 cm, at 1.75 ind/mussel (low). The intensity of sea snail egg infestations ranged from 1 to 2 ind/mussel, with no significant difference (P>0.05). The highest competitor abundance was found in Bagan Tancap I with the species Nereis sp., at 0.57 ind/mussel, and the highest competitor diversity was also observed in Bagan Tancap I with the species crab at 36.292 ind/mussel. Considering the prevalence and intensity values of Balanus sp. ectoparasites on green mussels in the waters of the Java Sea in Kecamatan Sidayu, it is still suitable for green mussel cultivation.

Abstract

The shrimp fry produced by hatcheries not according to standard. The problem is due to larval rearing techniques that do not comply with operational standards, Indonesian National Standards and Good Fish Hatchery Methods (CPIB). This causes the production of vaname shrimp larvae to be low, therefore it is necessary to increase the production of vaname shrimp larvae. Hatchery PT. Nusa Dharma Lautan is a vaname shrimp larva hatchery company located in Banyuwangi. Hatchery PT. Nusa Dharma Lautan has facilities that support technical activities for rearing larvae according to standards and has a CPIB certificate. So the aim of this research is to obtain technical data on rearing white shrimp larvae which includes tank preparation, media preparation, stocking of naupli, feed management, water quality management, larval growth monitoring, pest and disease control, harvest and post-harvest. This research was carried out during one shrimp seed rearing cycle at PT Nusa Dharma Lautan from March to June 2023. Research data was taken from three tanks (B10, B11 and B13). Naupli stocking density was 133-166 fish/liter. Naupli used from Hatchery PT. Situbondo Delta. Acclimatization is carried out using a flowtrough system for 45-60 minutes. The feed used is natural phytoplankton type Chaetoceros sp. and Artemia salina zooplankton as well as artificial feed in the form of liquid, powder and flakes (thin plates). The number of naupli stocked in B10 was 2400000 individuals with a density of 160 individuals/L, B11 was 2000000 individuals with a density of 133 individuals/L, B13 was 2500000 individuals with a density of 166 individuals/L. The survival results in each tank are 45% in the B10; 54.5.% in B11; 42.4% in B13. According to the data, the results of the survival rate are quite good because they exceed the SNI standard, at least 30%.
