Abstract

This study aimed to examine the influence of role playing methods on the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects of students in Christian education subjects, as an effort to counter zeitgeist of self-centered. Role playing method can give a strong and durable sense of learning in the students' memories, be a fun learning experience that is difficult to forget, make the classroom atmosphere more dynamic and enthusiastic, arouse passion and spirit in students and foster togetherness, allow students to plunge into the role of something that will be discussed in the learning process. This study is a quantitative research, with simple linier regression. Respondents are students of Public Junior High School 1 Wagir. From field trials and data processing that role playing implementation models have an impact of 34.8% while 65.2% are influenced by other factors. It is recommended role playing method as one of the appropriate method and practices in Christian education.

Abstract

Teaching material is an important tool to achieve learning goals. Teaching materials can help teachers prepare learning activities, and guide students in learning, both at school and at home. Therefore, teaching materials must be prepared based on the basic principles and steps of the systematic development of teaching materials as well as the assessment criteria to use in the field to ensure the quality of teaching materials developed. This paper discusses developing learning material for ESP (English for Specific Purposes). The method used to describe the development of learning material is by conducting a qualitative in which the writer did the document review of some related articles and books. The discussion area about the definition, the principles, the procedures, and the practical undertaking of developing learning material for ESP. The development of teaching materials for creative and integrated English learning is an effort to facilitate student learning, moving from the old paradigm to the new paradigm. Hopefully, the main target of learning for them is not only the result of learning in the form of numbers, but the courage to show the ability through real action under the skills and knowledge mastered.

Abstract

The background of this research is the condition of Indonesia-Malaysia Border Society in Entikong Sub-district and Balai essay whose life is influenced by the border atmosphere. A day they interact with Malaysians. The author wants to know how to orientation the border to education. Using qualitative and quantitative combined methods, with 3 months ' research period, the author finds the following results: (1) There is a paradox situation between hope and the reality of education shown in the border area. The findings are not adequate aspects of education, ranging from sarana-prasarana, learning facilities, preparedness, the completeness of textbooks, and so on.  (2) The orientation of community education in the frontier that successful authors find is (a) the orientation of the department, (b) Working orientation in Malaysia. (c) Orientation learning for living capital. (d) The results of this study show that most of the family's heads do not have their children who are 13-18 years old because they have to take their child to the city, while they have no family in the city to ride. (3) Education seems to evolve in the last 10 years, especially at the basic level (SD, SLTP, SLTA) because of the government's educational Assistance program.

Abstract

This research is concerned with The Effect of Outdoor Classroom Activity to the Writing Skill for student’s English department Universitas of Dharmas Indonesia. The objective of this research is to find out whether there is a significant difference in teaching writing skills between the students who are taught by using outdoor classroom activity and those who are not taught by using outdoor classroom activity. The implement of outdoor classroom activity in teaching learning process especially in writing skills can be assumed students' knowledge through the solid situation such as caring students outdoor the classroom so that the students can analyze their minds through what they observe and examine precisely. Hence, this research used an experimental research that was taken at first semester students' English Department. The experimental research involved two classes of students. The sample of this research was taken randomly. Both classes were provide pre-test and post-test. Next, the students of the group were learned by proving outdoor classroom activity at the same time the control group is learned beyond outdoor classroom activity. The occur of this research, as chases: The analysis occur of the experimental class offers that the mean count of the pre-test is 45.47 and the means count of the post-test is 71.82. It offers that the experimental class can improve student writing skill in learning process.

Abstract

This research is backed by the low creativity of elementary school students in the subjects of arts culture and Skills (SBK). The material taken is related to the batik curriculum in Banten in accordance with the PERGUB BANTEN 2014 that requires the entire school to integrate the local content curriculum of batik Banten. This research aims to increase the creativity of students in the local content curriculum in SBK subjects. This research uses class action research (PTK) with the number of students from 100 Grade 5 students elementary school who come from 4 (four) elementary schools in Panimbang, Pandeglang District by joining field trip activities. The results of the study were obtained through 2 (two) cycles, each cycle consists of 2 (two) meetings with a time allocation of 2 x 30 minutes. Based on the analysis of the research results obtained that there is no increase between the filed trip with the increase of student creativity on the field trips in integrating the curriculum batik. At the instructor's activity only increased by 0.5%, while in student activity only increased by 13.5%. Although the percentages are increasing, they remain in the "less" category, as they are below 70. Likewise on the results of creativity, there is no increase in cycles 1 and 2, because it remains in the category of "less".

Abstract

One of the difficult parts of learning the target language for English language learners is the acquisition of vocabulary. Most learners find that English is a hard subject to be studied. However, they can enjoy learning English when it is taught in a fun way. Using games for teaching vocabulary has been very popular for several decades. Different studies revealed that games are beneficial in vocabulary learning because they enhance students’ ability to memorize words, encourage student’s interaction, improve their communicative skills and enhance students’ motivation. Games also can help the teachers to create contexts in which the language is useful and meaningful. Watching a movie is also a great way to learn English. Learners can improve their vocabulary while watching a film. Total Physical Response method can also be applied when teaching English for children. This method makes language skills more quickly understood and understood by children the use of functional English like "Show and tell". Fun English learning activities (over English learning) was done this time, considering how enthusiastic the children in Taman Baca Kudi Dusun Cunil Pegalongan village Banyumas in every activity given. This English learning activity also aims to provide English introduction materials early so that they will be accustomed to facing all things related to the English language.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of students of class IX SMP Buru 11 in writing short stories in stages through observation of the daily events of experiential learning. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Namely by describing the profile of student learning outcomes by utilizing ways of interpretation by presenting in the form of descriptions. The results of this study indicate that (1) The ability to write short stories in stages through observation of daily events Experiential Learning in SMP Negeri 11 Buru has been successful, but not yet optimal, (2) aspects of the accuracy of diction which do not meet the maximum value, from the total sample of 26 students who scored 65 and above was 16 people (62%) and 10 students who scored below 65 (38%). This means that the ability of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 11 Buru in writing short stories in stages through observation of daily events (Experiential Learning) is categorized as sufficient.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the use of cooperative learning method (Student Team Achievement Division) in character subject in Christian Education among State Vocational High School 8 Malang. A total of 26 students were involved in the study, separated in two classes. The first class was treated with Cooperative Learning Method and the other class as a control class. Student achievement was measured based on the pre-test and post-test. The result obtained from this study, using quasi-experimental design with paired sample T-test, sig. (0,002) < 0,05, indicated that the Cooperative Learning Method is effective in Christian education. From the finding of this study, it is recommended cooperative learning method as one of the appropriate method and practices in character building for Christian Education.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of Movie for Mechanical Engineering students of Politeknik Harapan Bersama Tegal. The method used is class action research using 2 cycles. The subject of this study is class 6C with 26 people. The student's improvement in vocabulary understanding is 60% in the first cycle. However, the results were categorized as failed because only 10 students received a minimum score of 73 or above 73. So the second cycle is implemented. In the second cycle there is an increase in the percentage understanding vocabulary 75% of the average value of 69-86. So it can be concluded that the student's understanding increases using movie.

Abstract

UNNES crowned a conservation university. The vision of UNNES to 2040 became an internationally reputable and conservation university. Conservation means the effort to protect and preserve the value of culture and human behavior in interacting with the environment. The research objectives reveal the integration of conservation values in UNNES campus habituation. The study used a qualitative case study design. Data collection using observations, documentation, and interviews. Testing the validity of data using the triangulation of sources, techniques, and theories, using the social action theory Talcott Parsons and the personality theory of Gordon Allport. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman models through three stages; Data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, as well as Spradley's taxonomy analysis. The results of the integration strategy of conservation values in the habituation of UNNES campus are conducted through academic and non-academic activities. Through academic activities, it is seen from the planting of conservation values through conservation education, environmental education, and other courses. While through non-academic activities are seen with the planting of conservation values through UPT conservation development activities, student activity units, and the Student Activities Center. The student personality has been conservative seen from the conservative behavior of college students, habituation to be a strategy to embed conservation values. With this, the student's behavior is closely related to the conservation character he has, so it can reflect the actions that have been performed by the role of instilling the conservation values of UNNES.
