Abstract

Community participation in the Free Health Check (CKG) program still faces obstacles such as lack of information, limited time, and fear of knowing the test results. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of youth collaboration strategies in increasing community participation in the CKG program in East Bulango District. The research design used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Initial data on June 13, 2025, showed 216 registrants with 214 people attending. After training for 20 youth as health promotion agents on August 2, 2025, and continued with promotions through social media and field activities, the number of registrants increased to 427 with 423 people attending by August 13, 2025. This increase is equivalent to a 97.6% increase in participation. These findings indicate that youth involvement is effective in expanding the reach of information and overcoming barriers to community participation. The results of the study emphasize the importance of youth-based collaborative strategies as agents of change in strengthening early detection and health promotion programs in the community.

Abstract

The transformation towards Integrated Primary Healthcare (ILP) in Indonesia necessitates robust risk management to ensure service quality and patient safety. However, manual documentation and reporting at Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) hinder real-time risk response, creating a critical gap. This study aims to develop 'Kasir-Risk,' a digital prototype featuring an Early Warning System (EWS) dashboard, to mitigate risks and support accreditation standards. Employing a qualitative approach and prototyping method within the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), this research involved 56 respondents from Puskesmas and the District Health Office of Bantul. Data was collected via Focus Group Discussions (FGD), observation, and documentation studies. The needs analysis revealed an urgent demand for an integrated tool for risk handling. The resulting Kasir-Risk application is a structured, secure, and data-driven system. Its design encompasses three main components: a functionality module for risk calculation and notifications, a user experience-based EWS dashboard, and a relational database. Built with modern technologies like Laravel, React.js, and MySQL, the prototype facilitates the entire risk management cycle—from identification and analysis to evaluation, mitigation, and reporting. This study concludes that Kasir-Risk serves as a viable digital solution for enhancing risk mitigation, real-time monitoring, and data-driven decision-making in primary healthcare transformation.

Abstract

Estimating time of death is an important aspect of forensic investigations, with rigor mortis as one of the main indicators used. This study aimed to evaluate the role of rigor mortis in determining the post-mortem interval (PMI) based on a systematic review of recent literature from 2020 to 2025. A total of 30 articles were identified, with 10 articles meeting the eligibility criteria. The analysis showed that rigor mortis begins to develop within 1-4 hours after death, reaches its peak within 6-12 hours, and disappears after 36-72 hours. Environmental factors, such as temperature and humidity, had a significant effect on the speed of rigor mortis development. In addition, physiological conditions before death also contribute to variations in the onset and duration of rigor mortis. These findings emphasize the importance of considering environmental and biological factors in estimating time of death to improve the accuracy of forensic analysis

Abstract

Background: Anemia in adolescent girls is a health problem that can impact growth, cognitive development, and future productivity. Iron supplementation is one of the main strategies to prevent anemia, but compliance rates are still low. Objective: This review aims to identify factors that influence adolescent girls' adherence to iron supplementation, challenges faced, and strategies to improve adherence. Methods: The method used was a scoping review with the PRISMA-ScR approach. Literature searches were conducted on PubMed, ScienceDirect, Wiley and Google Scholar databases with related keywords. Of the 2,237 articles identified, 14 articles met the inclusion criteria. Results: Based on the results of the scoping review, five main themes were found in the study of adolescent girls' adherence to iron supplementation including adherence, influencing factors, health impact, improvement strategies, and the role of community and policy. These themes reflect key factors contributing to the effectiveness of supplementation as well as strategies to improve adherence. Conclusions: Recommended strategies to improve adherence include school-based education, adherence monitoring by teachers and health workers, and community-based health campaigns. More effective community-based interventions and educative approaches are needed to improve adolescent girls' adherence to iron supplementation to reduce anemia rates.

Abstract

Background: Pap smears are essential for the early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, yet the coverage of these screenings in Indonesia is still low, at approximately 7.3%. Health centers are available in nearly all sub-districts, with many areas having additional supporting centers. Health workers in these facilities have been trained on the significance of Pap smear. It is expected that with more active involvement from health workers in educating and assisting local communities, the coverage of Pap smears will improve. Objective: To assess how much Pap smear coverage can increase with effective support from health workers. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with 33 married women in Central Java between July and September 2024, using consecutive sampling. Results: The average age of participants was 43.06 years, and 60.6% (20/33) had never had a Pap smear. Following educational support from health workers, 75.8% (25/33) of participants gained a better understanding of the importance of Pap smear and underwent the screening through the health insurance system in Indonesia called Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) at a designated laboratory. Conclusion: Health worker support led to a significant increase in Pap smear coverage, reaching 75.8%.

Abstract

Intradialytic eating (IE) remains controversial due to the absence of standardised clinical guidelines. While it can potentially improve patients' nutritional status, its effects on hemodynamic stability and dialysis adequacy remain inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of IE timing on hemodynamic and dialysis adequacy. A quasi-experimental design with a control group was employed, involving 32 hemodialysis patients assigned to either an intervention or control group. The intervention group received a standardised meal consisting of 100 ml of milk and two egg whites (200 kcal; approximately 15 grams of protein) at varying times during five dialysis sessions. Observed parameters included systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, MAP, and Kt/V. Measurements were recorded every 30 minutes throughout each session. Data were analysed using independent t-test and Repeated Measures ANOVA with Bonferroni correction. No statistically significant differences between the intervention and control groups across all parameters (p 0.05). However, within the intervention group, repeated measures ANOVA revealed changes in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.004), MAP (p = 0.021), and Kt/V (p = 0.031). Post-hoc Bonferroni tests identified significant differences in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.010 and p = 0.045) and MAP (p = 0.041). IE had a significant impact on hemodynamics during the first and second hours of dialysis (p 0.05). These findings indicate that IE toward the end of dialysis may serve as a safe nutritional approach, with minimal hemodynamic risk and greater potential for preserving dialysis adequacy compared to earlier phases of the session

Abstract

This research explores the potential association between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and total serum cholesterol among early adults. Utilizing a cross-sectional analytic approach, the study recruited 72 students from four universities located in Bandar Lampung and Metro City, Lampung Province. Laboratory testing was conducted to assess cardiovascular risk through measurements of HbA1c and cholesterol levels. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to examine the relationship between the variables. The results revealed no statistically significant correlation between HbA1c and total cholesterol (r = 0.009, p = 0.9391), nor between HbA1c and blood pressure (r = 0.0118, p = 0.9213). Despite the absence of significant associations, these findings highlight the importance of early metabolic screening in young populations to support timely interventions and prevent long-term cardiovascular issues.

Abstract

Red betel leaf is a plant that is rich in benefits, one of which is as an antioxidant. The benefits as an antioxidant in plants are due to the content of phenolic and flavonoid compounds. Phenolic compounds also function as protection against UV-B rays, this ability can be seen from the SPF value. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of phenolic and flavonoid compounds and the antioxidant and sunscreen activity of ethanol extract from red betel leaves. Phenolic content was determined using 10% Follin Ciocalteu reagent and 20% Na2CO3. In contrast, flavonoid content used AlCl3 and CH3COONa solutions, and the determination of antioxidant activity was carried out using DPPH. In contrast, the ability a protect against sunlight (sunscreen) was carried out by determining the sun protection factor (SPF) value. After measurements were carried out using a UV-visible spectrophotometer, the results obtained were a phenolic content of 257.56 mg GAE/g and flavonoids of 46.8008 mg QE/g. They had a very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 38.9338 ppm and had sunscreen activity with an SPF value of 5, 17, 28, 36, and 38 at concentrations of 100, 300, 500, 700, and 1000 ppm respectively.

Abstract

The paper presents nurse’s perspective on the link between psychological empowerment, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Low levels of organizational commitment among nurses in 5 locations Type II Indonesian Air Force hospitals (RSAU) have become a significant challenge in delivering high-quality healthcare services. This study aims to analyze and validate the contributing factors using data collected from questionnaires and absenteeism records from 2020. Using a purposive sampling technique, a total of 362 nurses agreed to participate as respondents and completed the questionnaire. The results indicate that psychological empowerment as an individual characteristic, can affect organizational commitment as an individual outcome, with job satisfaction serving as the mediating mechanism. Therefore, it is advisable for organizations to increase job satisfaction which plays an important mediating role in increasing organizational commitment,. For further research, it is suggested to include parameters related to organizational culture, ability, and nurse’s personalities to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
