Abstract

The focus of empowerment in community service activities is oriented towards non-profit organizations which are one type of public sector organization. In the implementation of community service carried out, the assisted subjects chosen were the administrators (takmir) of the mosque in Kwangsan Village, Jumapolo District, Karanganyar Regency. The assisted subject was chosen because he saw the condition of managing the source of funds for the mosque in the village was considered massively lacking. This has an impact on the condition of the mosque which becomes poorly maintained. In this report, community service activities are carried out in Kwangsan Village, Jumapolo District, Karanganyar Regency. Community service activities were attended by approximately 25 participants in each session. In this activity, an explanation was given about increasing the use value of goods and the concept of accountability. All participants already understood the material presented. The results of the assistance were carried out optimally. There is also an increase in infaq and funding sources of mosques in Kwangsan Village.

Abstract

The focus of empowerment in community service activities is oriented towards optimizing social media applications in supporting marketing improvement. The focus of empowerment is carried out with the aim of helping stabilize the economic condition of Ploso Village after the Covid-19 pandemic. The following is data on the number of MSMEs in Ploso Village, consisting of 8 snack MSMEs, 3 convection MSMEs, and 1 artisan MSME. Judging from field observations that the condition of assisted subjects is still running their business in a simple and traditional way. Some products produced from the MSME and halal food industries are marketed without giving a brand. Community service activities were attended by approximately 73 participants in each session. In the activity, an explanation was given about the improvement of digital marketing concepts and the use of social media applications as an increase in product marketing. The results of the assistance were carried out optimally. There is also an increase, namely some business actors are starting to learn further to create promotional content through their social media.

Abstract

The conversion of agricultural or plantation land to non-agricultural has reduced the area of land that can be utilized by the community to meet their food needs. The aim of the training activities for making vegetable growing media using the hydroponic technique of the DFT system among students in Lamandau Regency is to become an alternative to appropriate technology that can be used to overcome land conversion problems. Students are chosen because they are agents of change now and in the future. The training method used in carrying out this activity is training with lectures and work demonstrations on making hydroponic DFT systems using planting media, as well as monitoring and evaluating the application of DFT. The result of this training activity is an increase in knowledge and skills for students regarding appropriate technology to overcome the problem of land conversion which is always increasing in the future as a preparatory step.

Abstract

MSME is an abbreviation for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Basically, MSMEs are the meaning of enterprises or businesses carried out by individuals, groups, small business entities, or households. Indonesia as a developing country makes MSMEs the main foundation of the community's economic sector, this is done to encourage the ability of independence to develop in society, especially in the economic sector. Therefore, competent Human Resources (HR) are needed to produce quality financial reports. This activity is carried out through outreach, training and mentoring to MSMEs and youth organizations in Mandalamekar Village. Based on the PKM activities that have been carried out, there are participants who are able to understand 87% of the material. Apart from that, based on the practice of making business proposals, four financial reports were successfully prepared according to wishes and were able to be presented using a laptop, not manually as before. Significant managerial implications, especially in terms of increasing access to business capital. The following are several managerial implications that can be identified: the mentoring process will help MSME owners and managerial staff to increase their understanding of making business proposals properly and correctly.

Abstract

This Community Service Program has been implemented in April 2024 at the Al-Ayyubi Ornamental Fish Cultivation and Consumption Group Jl. Pancoran Barat IXG, RT08/RW03, Kelurahan Pancoran, Kecamatan Pancoran, South Jakarta 12780. The problem faced by the Al-Ayyubi Ornamental Fish Cultivation and Consumption Group is that the management of ornamental fish cultivation and consumption ponds has not been maximized. The aim to be achieved is to motivate the group in managing ornamental fish cultivation and consumption ponds. The method used is a social approach method in the form of counseling and training. This program begins by educating the public with knowledge about the use of fish farming ponds through counseling and assistance, then continues with practicing in the field or in ponds near the RT office. So that the community can practice and develop fish farming management patterns in the group. The achievements that will be obtained after training and counseling are carried out, the group can manage, carry out fish cultivation properly, correctly and can make optimal use of fish cultivation pond land, therefore it can increase the income of community empowerment groups.

Abstract

Processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles is a community service activity carried out at Sanggar Sadar Belajar. This activity is based on the large amount of used cooking oil production in the surrounding environment, so there is a need for nature-based learning for children to be able to preserve their environment. Thus, this service activity provides an opportunity for studio children to gain new experience and knowledge in processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles. This service activity was carried out at Sanggar Sadar Belajar on Thursday, April 18 2024 and Sunday, April 21 2024. This activity was carried out in three stages, namely the preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, this service activity can be useful in instilling creativity in studio children in processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles.

Abstract

Sweet potatoes are a key agricultural product in Indonesia, particularly in five significant provinces: West Java, Central Java, East Java, Irian Jaya, and North Sumatra. One popular way to prepare sweet potatoes is by making them into delicious and nutritious chips. Chips are dry, crunchy snacks known for their durability, convenience, and ease of storage. Creating sweet potato chips could boost the economic value of fresh sweet potatoes. Given these points, introducing innovative sweet potato chips with enhanced nutritional value presents an enticing solution to address community nutritional needs and create new snack options. With a shortage of processed sweet potato products available, offering a variety of sweet potato chip flavors can also promote public health.

Abstract

Informal sector plays a crucial role in the global economy, involving millions of workers worldwide. However, despite its significant contribution, workers in this sector often lack adequate Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protection. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which serves to protect individuals from workplace hazards, is frequently not provided by business owners and is often used unsafely by workers. This program aims to enhance the understanding of business owners and workers regarding OHS and the importance of using PPE at work. The program involved business owners and workers in the informal sectors of agriculture, woodworking/furniture, and rice mills in Sumbawa, conducted in July 2024. The initiative covered the entire process from preparation to evaluation, employing methods of socialization and direct field application. Results indicated an increase in knowledge among business owners and workers about OHS and the use of PPE. Feedback from both business owners and workers was very positive.

Abstract

Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) in Cimenyan Sub-district, Bandung Regency, manage several businesses operated by the local community. In its development, financial management in BUMDes is still simple. The lack of understanding of BUMDes managers resulted in a lack of integration in the bookkeeping of transactions. The PKM team from FEB Yarsi University made this training which was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 which was attended by all management staff totaling 14 people with the aim that BUMDes Management and the business units involved can prepare financial reports based on SAK ETAP. The method used is the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involves all parties actively in reviewing ongoing actions. The results of this PKM show that the Pre test is 53% while after carrying out the training the Post test results are 91%, which means that there is an increase in the knowledge of BUMDes devices where almost all of them have understood village financial reports. This simple financial report management training was carried out well, and it is hoped that BUMDes administrators can apply simple financial management and reporting knowledge that is in accordance with applicable regulations, transparent, and accountable.

Abstract

he community service activity aimed to enhance students' mathematical literacy skills using the Picture and Picture (PnP) method. The PnP method is a method that supports students' success in solving learning problems, especially in mathematics lessons. The PnP method can create students' sense of knowledge visually or with real images, which students really need in creating an ideal learning atmosphere so that students can directly experience the visuals of mathematics lessons. The method used in this activity is in the form of a lecture by providing counseling on how to learn using the PnP method so as to improve students' skills in solving mathematical problems. Students are given counseling using PowerPoint and video media. Then participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and then 4 discussion groups were formed to discuss problems related to how to learn using the PnP method. The activity took place on Monday, May 20 2024, participants were students of SDN Duri Kepa 03 West Jakarta. From the pre-test results through questions and answers from 30 students, knowledge about the Picture and Picture method was still in the poor category, while the post-test results showed an increase in knowledge of around 82% of students with a good level of knowledge.
