Abstract

The focus of this research is correlation of qiyām al-lail with human immunity in hadith perspective. The problem statements are: 1) what is the quality of hadith of qiyām al-lail?, and 2) what is the correlation of qiyām al-lail with human immunity in hadith perspective? The aims of this research are: 1) to describe the quality of qiyām al-lail hadith, and 2) to explore the correlation of qiyām al-lail with human immunity in the hadith perspective. The method used in this writing is analytical method (taḥlīlī). Some of approaches used are hadith science and health science. The findings of this research show that : 1) the quality of hadith is hasan because all of sanad from al-Tirmiżi’s book have capability (ḍabit  and ‘adil ). Therefore, this hadith can be a standard to qiyām al-lail, and 2) qiyām al-lail and human immunity have a correlation in hadith perspective, as mentioned by Muslim scholars and findings of scientists.

Abstract

This article discusses M. Quraish Shihab's and Buya Hamka's view on the Qur'anic perspectives. Using a descriptive analytic method, the study answers the question how the Qur'an perceives these key terms. The study finds that the Qur'an has both a sacred and profane side at the same time. Even some Muslims consider the holy side of the Qur'an to be inherent in all its dimensions. It also finds that M. Quraish Shihab discusses five dimensions of the Qur'anic perspective. Meanwhile, Hamka discusses five dimensions.

Abstract

Radicalism is a threat that every nation has experienced. The first characteristic of radicals is a textualist and dogmatic, the second, extreme and militant, the third, takfiri, or judging infidel with the other people who opposite with them. So, this research discusses the concept of a prophet’s pleasantry as a practice of moderation to avoid radicalization. In it there is good purpose and message. The study deploys content analysis to answer how the concept of having fun could be used to de-radicalize radical attitude and behaviors. The study finds that pleasantry concept of prophet which is contextual, righteous, and egalitarian, has several purposes including al-tasliyah (consolation), al-ta‘allum (learning), izalāh al-qalq (relieve the anxiety), mulāṭifah wa mulayyinah (show the softness), and taṭyīb al-kalām (pleasant words). Therefore, through mizāh fī al-sunnah concept expected realization of deradicalization, tolerance, and moderation of Muslims in the sphere of nation and state.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of sulūk, ‘Abd al-Ṣamad al-Falimbānī's book, "Siyar al-Sālikīn fi Ṭarīqah al-Sādāt al-Ṣūfiyah." Using a descriptive analytic method, this study answers the question of "how is the concept of sulūk according to  al-Falimbānī?". It finds that  sulūk is important and valuable in Nusantara  knowledge heritage, mainly in sufism. It also finds that the concept of sulūk of al-Falimbānī is considered as an important key for a sālik in making his way to Allah SWT. However, al-Falimbānī does not provide detail information about  wirid, or similar aspects which should be performed by sālik in his daily life

Abstract

This paper discusses the history of the country of Yemen which is located in the western Arabian Peninsula. The safe country has an unique history and is recognized as a country that has been colored by civilization and science in the past. In addition, Yemen has the privilege of having the editorial Nafs al-Rahman, defined as the soul of God mentioned in the history of al-Thabrani in his Musnad al-Syamiyyin’s book. The editor is Inni Ajidu Nafasa Rabbakum Min Qibali al-Yaman. In addition, there are several sources of verses of the Koran that allude to the state of Yemen which includes the stories of the Yemeni people who occupied the country of Yemen. This study reveals that the state of Yemen had many virtues since the time of the Prophets, before and after the advent of Islam. The country of Yemen is known as the nation of the Arabian Peninsula that is happy, beautiful, and full of fruits or vegetables, and much more. Therefore, this study specifically discusses the Yemeni state and its people from all aspects and their influence on Islam which will be presented in the study of socio-historical methods.

Abstract

For Abū Zaid, the text is the result of reality, demanding a change in the reading of the text, in the end, there will be an integration between the text and reality. The meaning is static because it contains historical meaning, and the significance is dynamic. The concept he initiated began with the use of a contemporary study approach in understanding the process of al-Qur'an revelation. As a result, the sacredness of the text also the mean of Qur’an in Latin Kalāmullāh a deconstructed into a ‘culture product' meaning that text of the Qur’an is forming in its interactioning with socioculture. This research article will explain how the author supports the theory initiated by Naṣr Ḥāmid Abū Zaid in presenting the concept of Islam in formulating the idea of al-Qur'an as Muntāj Ṡaqāfī in today's contemporary era.

Abstract

There are four classifications of hadith scholars measured by how skeptical they are of the authenticity of the hadith, namely Early Western Scepticism, Reaction Against Scepticism, Middle Ground, and Renewed Scepticism. Of the four classifications, Berg divides them into two groups, namely those who are skeptical and non-skeptical. In response to this, Harald Motzki specifically criticized Berg's classification. The data source that used is based on the article "The Question of The Authenticity of Muslim Traditions Reconsidered: A Review Article" by Harald Motzki as the primary source and the supporting articles for this article as a secondary source. Through the descriptive-analytical method, the writer will describe Harald Motzki's criticism of Herbert Berg's classification and provide an analysis of it, so that readers can understand the point of Harald Motzki's criticism and the reasons behind the criticism. With that method, it was found that Harald Motzki thought that if Berg's classification, both logically and epistemologically, was useless. This is based on three main criticisms: First, the unclear definition of the classification. Second, the error in capturing the meaning of the hadith scholars. Third, there is a bias in the skeptical group, so that the explanation for the non-skeptical group is not balanced.

Abstract

This article was written to find out the arguments and determination of the legal sources of hadith in Tafsir al-Azhar. The author uses the takhrij hadith method in order to find out the legal source of the position of the hadith. Then all the do’uments are collected according to the related theme and analyzed in terms of the sanad and matan of the hadith. Then the author found 262 hadith studied and of them found 47 (56.10%) hadith ṣaḥīḥ, 16 (6.10%) hadith ṣaḥīḥ li gairih, 27 (10.30%) hadith ḥasan , 5 (1.90%) hadith ḥasan  ṣaḥīḥ, 6 (2.29%) hadith ḥasan  li gairih, 1 (0.38%) hadith ḥasan  ṣaḥīḥ garīb, 46 (17.17%) hadith ḍa’īf, 6 (2.29%) hadith jiddan, 4 (1.52%) non-hadith and 4 (1.52%) sources have not been found. From these findings, it can be concluded that the majority of the hadith contained in this interpretation, namely 202 (77.09%) %) may be used as a source of law that includes ṣaḥīḥ (56.10%), ṣaḥīḥ li gairih (6.10%), ḥasan (10.30%), ḥasan  li gairih (2.29%), ḥasan  ṣaḥīḥ (1.90%), and ḥasan  ṣaḥīḥ garīb (0.38%). The following hadith may be used as evidence in fada'il al-A'mal as many as 46 (17.55%). Others, such as the hadith ḍa’īf jiddan are not hadiths and the source has not been found, so they cannot be used as evidence.

Abstract

This research departs from the problem regarding the debate of the scholars about the hadith of the tortured deceased because of the cries of his family, whether it is Saheeh or dhaif. The authors conclude that the results of the scholars’ understanding of the hadith vary: those who based on textual (text), and the other hand, those who understand the hadith with the asbab al-wurūd hadith, the situation, and conditions as well as the purpose, ensuring the meaning of the word in the hadith. With this understanding, there is a difference in opinion of the scholars regarding the hadith about the deceased being tortured because of the crying of the family. Differences occur because of using different approaches, methodologies, and ijtihad. So that some say that the hadith is authentic and some scholars say dhaif on the basis of their respective evidence. Hujjah in the form of narrators, eyes, and an understanding of the hadith eyes and asbabul wurud. The method used by the scholars in arguing about the hadith is by using the textual method, observance of the hadith, and asbab al-wurūd. So that the scholars used an approach to unifying differences with three approaches, namely the al-jam'u, takhyir, and tarjih methods.

Abstract

This paper discusses Muhammad Izzat Darwazah (1887-1984)’s hermeneutics of the Qur’an. His thought is considered important because of his persistence in the view that the reconstruction of the initial context of Qur’anic revelation will bring the interpreter closer to the genuine message that Allah and his messenger Muhammad wanted to convey. Using a descriptive-analytic method, the writer portrays Darwazah’s thought position in both the development of tafsir as well as of tafsir nuzuli. In so doing, the writer outlines his discussion as follows introduction, basic structure of hermeneutics, examples of interpretation, status of Darwazah’s hermeneutics, and closing. This study finds that Darwazah’shermeneutic strength lies in the encyclopedic character of his work which provides rich information about the revelation of the Qur’an, the agencies involved, and the identification of early socio-religious processes and practices. Meanwhile, the weakness of his work lies in its entanglement in the hermeneutical burden, or in the expression of Wael Hallaq “Arabicate hermeneutics” which keeps Darwazah preoccupied with linguistic and historical discussion, while forgetting the focus and depth of the fundamental message of the Qur’an. Readers, instead of getting complete enlightenment, they overwhelmingly receive a variety of messages that are scattered, common sense and incomplete
