Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing school management which manages teachers’ management model that impacts the performance of High School teachers of Muhammadiyah in South-Sumatera Province. This field research applied a descriptive-qualitative approach. The technique for collecting the data was through observation, interview and documentation. The research subjects selected by using purposive sampling technique. The technique for analyzing the data was through data analysis by reducing, presenting, verifying and drawing conclusions, and also using reliable and extended participation techniques, careful observation, triangulation and consulting with advisors. The results showed that management performance model in Senior High School of Muhammadiyah was a successful management model which enables to improve teachers’ performance. The success of applying this model can be regarded on management performance model of teachers in line with POAC management, in which POAC was implemented to meet teachers’ success, and also other factors, such as humans’ competency and motivation in managing teachers’ performance, the effectiveness of managing performance starting from input, process and teachers’ performance objective, as well as the use of facilities and infrastructure, time, finance (capital) had supported the success of teacher's performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe of teacher’ stages of concern in applicating curriculum innovation. The approach used in this study was a descriptive study. The number of population of this study were 500 primary school teachers. Meanwhile, the research sample were 50 teachers. A random sampling technique in the form of the lottery was used to get samples. Data were collected, classified, processed and analyzed by using the norms of the group in the calculation of percentile. The findings of this study were 42 % of teachers in a stage of concern called at the stage of awareness, 0 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of I stage of information; 18 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of personnel;10 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of management); 16 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of consequence; 6 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of collaboration; and 12 % of teachers have a stage of concern at the stage of refocusing. The overall respondents have an average score of 2.06 (two point zero six). This means that their stage of concern for the implementation of the curriculum innovation is still low. They experience uncertainty in making decisions to adopt it. It was caused by (a) the lack of understanding of primary school teachers on information received, (b) lack of examples and evidence of the benefits of accepted curriculum innovation in school practices, (c) lack of training by trainers in applying new curriculum, (d) so complex in evaluating and (e) the curriculum is continuously changing.

Abstract

This study was to determine whether there was an influence of school-based management (SBM) and work motivation on the teacher’s performance of SD Negeri in Pulau Rimau. The method used was descriptive quantitative. The population used was 19 public elementary schools in Pulau Rimau and the sample was 3 schools. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation. The results showed that there is significant influence between school-based management (SBM) and work motivation together on teacher’s performance.

Abstract

The specific purpose of this study is to find out professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing curriculum 2013 in Bengkulu city. This study used analytical descriptive. This study aimed at describing the professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing curriculum 2013. The subject of this study was 100 teachers of elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The object of this study was related to professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing Curriculum 2013. The data collecting was conducted by using questionnaire and document. Questionnaire was used to obtain the data about professional competence understanding level of elementary school teacher in implementing Curriculum 2013. To find out and to proof that questionnaire is valid was conducted by expert. Document was used to find out the number of elementary school teacher in Bengkulu City. After the data was collected it was verified, and was processed by using percentage statistic method. The data processing was then analyzed and concluded. In general this study concluded that elementary school teachers in Bengkulu city understands professional competence in implementing curriculum 2013.

Abstract

Edmodo is a form of learning application used by academics in order to carry out online learning. This research was conducted with the aim of informing more widely about Edmodo and describing how to use it to be able to optimize online learning. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a type of literature study. The results of the research conducted are that Edmodo has provided complete facilities in the context of implementing virtual learning. Intended as virtual learning because the learning process is carried out in the network. Educators (teachers / lecturers) have breadth in the implementation of classroom management because students can be made classes as classes in conventional learning. Educators can optimize the dissemination of information as well as in applications that have provided many features to make tests with various types of tests offered, educators can also provide assignments with predetermined collection times so as to optimize classroom management, educators can provide a direct assessment of the assignments students, giving awards with various types of awards. The advantage of using Edmodo is that there is no limit on space and time in learning because at any time it can take part in learning, it does not depend on the presence of educators in front of the class because wherever educators can still provide optimal learning.

Abstract

This study determined the instructional management of Islamic education in Primary School 25 Gelumbang. This study used qualitative method and the focus was instructional management. The instruments were observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that there were steps in instructional management such planning, implementing, organizing and monitoring. Then in supervision, the teacher made a breakthrough by involving parents and homeroom teachers in controlling their children to memorize short letters and asmaul husna given.

Abstract

This research originated from concerns about the opportunity to cheat if the test was conducted on computer media and smartphones (Android). This study aimed at determining the process of implementing computer-based and Android-based National Examination (USBN), constraints that may be faced, whether or not there are opportunities for examinees to cheat, effective or not, and whether or not USBN-based and computer-based USBN is efficient. In this study, researchers used descriptive research methods by collecting data on interviews, documents, and library sources as primary data sources and secondary data. The implementation of USBN CBT (National Standard School Exams Based Test) is an alternative in minimizing paper use. USBN CBT is more effective and efficient than USBN PBT (Paper Based Test). The results of the study found that: the process and technical implementation of computer-based and android-based USBN in 9 high schools throughout the Banyuasin District of South Sumatra Province differed from one another, 2) There were no severe constraints, 3) There was no opportunity for exam participants to cheat, 4) Very effective because it is easier to practice, 5) Very efficient because it can minimize the use of paper and electricity, especially in USBN based on Android. In the following years, it was strongly recommended to implement computer-based and android-based USBN both in the high school environment throughout the Banyuasin District, in South Sumatra and throughout Indonesia in general.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of ice breaking on learning motivation, active learning and learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary students, Bengkulu City. Non-Equivalent Control Group Design in the form of the quasi-experimental method was used in this study. The type of research is quantitative descriptive. The population were the public elementary students in Bengkulu City, while the sample of this study were two classes, those were VA and V B. Data collection techniques in this study were questionnaires and tests. Based on the description of the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that (1). There is an influence of ice breaking on the learning motivation of fifth-grade students of public elementary school 56 Bengkulu City. This is shown in the t-test that the value of t-test of 5.00> t table value at a significant level of 5% is 2.01 (2). There is an influence of ice breaking on the learning activeness of fifth-grade students of public elementary school 56 Bengkulu City. This is shown in the t-test that the value of t-test is 5.04> t table value at the 5% significance level of 2.01. (3). There is a significant effect of ice breaking on student learning outcomes on cognitive aspects of fifth-grade students of public elementary school 56 Bengkulu City. This is indicated by the calculation of the t-test that the value of t testis 2.71> the value of t table at a significant level of 5% of 2.03.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the efforts to develop elementary school teacher’s professionalism in remote areas and the factors that become obstacles faced by teachers to improve the quality of elementary school education. This research was carried out in and SD Negeri 16 and 31 Pulau Rimau. This research is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected using documentation, interviews, observation and literature review. Data were analysed using data collection, data reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results stated that the development of professionalism of remote regional teachers in Banyuasin was 1) facilitating permission for elementary school teachers to continue their studies; 2) emphasizing school principals and teachers who have more ability to share abilities with peers; 3) reviewing each teacher after completing various training activities; 4) improve school facilities and infrastructure; 6) providing assistance to teachers who are implementing education; and 7) increasing the competency of school supervisors.

Abstract

The problem in this research was lack of students' confidence to play the role and the lack of experience of students in the experience of literature which resulted in the ability to appreciate the role play was still not satisfied. One way to tackle the problem was using the role playing method. The research method used was experiment. The population of this research was the fourth semester students of Bahasa Indonesia and Literature Education Program. Research data were obtained through practice test technique. The results showed that there was influence of role playing method on role playing ability in accordance with drama script written by students.
