Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted based on low connection mathematical and creative thinking ability of students. The aim of this study was to determine: (1) whether the connection mathematical of students use Discovery Learning is different than Direct Instruction, (2) whether the creative thinking abilities students Discovery Learning is different than Direct Instruction, (3) the student answers use Discovery Learning variatever than Direct Instruction, (4) to responses the students used Discovery Learning very positive. This study is a quasi experimental research. The study population was all students of class VII SMP Swasta Ampera Batang Kuis consisting of three parallel classes. Of all students in grade VII students of two classes selected for the sample. The experimental class were treated Discovery Learning and control class were treated Direct instruction. In this research has developed several learning tools such as lesson plan and student activity sheets. The instrument used to collect data in this study are: (1) test the ability of connection mathematical, (2) test the ability creative thinking of students. The tests were used is in the form of a description. The test has been declared valid and reliable by the reliability coefficient of 0.814 and 0.878. Descriptive analysis is intended to describe the students' answers. Inferential analysis of data was done by analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). The results showed that: (1) The ability of connection mathematical of students used Discovery Learning is different than Direct Instruction. This is evident from the results ANACOVA to F* = 14,559 is greater than Ftable = 4.052 with equation regression is for experiment class and for control class (2) The ability creative thinking of students is different than Direct Instruction. This is evident from the results ANACOVA to F* = 9,113 is greater than Ftable = 4.052 with equation regression is for experiment class and for control class (3) The process of student answers by using Discovery Learning assisted open ended better than Direct Instruction (4) to responses the students positive.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang meneliti tentang pembelajaran reciprocal dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi dan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa yang dilakukan di SMA Negeri 15 Medan dengan sampel kelas XI IPA sebanyak dua kelas diambil secara acak (random). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pemecahan masalah matematik siswa berbentuk pilihan berganda untuk mengetahui kemampuan koneksi dan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa untuk mengetahui aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa baik kemampuan koneksi matematik, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, maupun gabungan keduanya yang memperoleh pembelajaran reciprocal terjadi peningkatan yang lebih baik daripada kemampuan koneksi dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, maupun gabungan keduanya yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Aktivitas siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran reciprocal mencerminkan kegiatan yang aktif, dn tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran reciprocal sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran reciprocal efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi, pemecahan masalah matematik dan gabungan keduanya serta aktivitas belajar siswa

Abstract

This paper analyzes forms of resource allocation problems in higher education. Resource allocation is one of the major decision problems arising in higher education. Resources must be allocated optimally is such a way that performance of universities can be improved. It combines two of the most extended multicriteria decision making techniques: the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Goal Programming (GP). The AHP approach is used in evaluation all criteria such as qualitative and quantitative factors. Then the Goal Programming (GP) model incorporating the constraints to select the best set of all goals without exceeding the limited avalaible resources. In this paper two commercial packages are used : Expert Choice for determining the AHP priority ranking of the projects, and LINGO 17 for solving the GP model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' creative thinking on the Social Arithmetic Material at SMP Yapim Medan. This type of research is classroom action research with 26 research subjects. The instruments used were tests and observations. The average value of teacher observation in cycle I was 75% and increased in cycle II to 84.38% in the good category, while the average value of student activity observation in the first cycle was 62.25% in the good category, where as in cycle II it was 68.63% in the good category. The average of creative thinking of students in the initial test obtained 44.32% increased to 69.92% in the first cycle and 78.04% in the second cycle. Because the activities of students increased, teacher observation increased and the ability of creative thinking of students also increased from cycle I to cycle II, it can be concluded that the students' creative thinking ability with humanistic contextual learningincreases.

Abstract

Abstract Mathematical resilience is a mathematical ability that shows endurance and flexibility when studying and mastering mathematics. This research is a quantitative research that aims to analyze the variables forming the indicators of mathematical resilience ability in mathematics education study program students FKIP. The research subjects consisted of 178 students of Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP. All questionnaires were given to the questionnaire containing 33 variables forming mathematical resilience. Research data were analyzed using Factor Analysis. The results showed that 9 (nine) indicators could be formed as indicators for forming mathematical resilience of FKIP mathematics education study program students. Each of the 9 (nine) indicators is built by several variables which are the variables forming the mathematical resilience indicators. Keyword: Mathematical Resilience, Factor Analysis Abstrak Resiliensi matematis merupakan kemampuan matematis yang menunjukkan daya tahan dan daya lentur ketika mempelajari dan menguasai matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan menganalisis variabel-variabel pembentuk indikator kemampuan resiliensi matematis pada mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika FKIP. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematia FKIP sebanyak 178 orang responden. Kepada seluruh responden diberikan kuisioner yang berisi variabel-variabel pembentuk resiliensi matematis sebanyak 33 statement. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Faktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dapat dibentuk 9 (sembilan) indikator sebagai indikator pembentuk resiliensi matematis mahasiswa prodi pendidikan matematika FKIP. Masing-masing dari 9 (sembilan) indikator tersebut dibangun oleh beberapa variabel yang merupakan variabel pembentuk indikator resiliensi matematis tersebut Kata Kunci: Resiliensi Matematis, Analisis Faktor.

Abstract

This research is a type of evaluation research conducted using qualitative methods. This research will be conducted at the Teaching and Education Faculty of the University of HKBP Nommensen. The time for conducting this research is the odd semester of the 2019/2020 school year. Plans that will participate in this research are Lecturers of FKIP UHN Medan. The sample chosen in this study was one lecturer who worked on each odd semester course at FKIP UHN by taking a sample with a random sampling technique. This study aimed to explain the topic and the suitability of the material submitted with material given to students by lecturers of Mathematics Education Study Program UHN Medan FKIP 2019/2020 Academic Year. The results showed that: 1) Overall syllabus conformity with teaching materials approved by lecturers from each study program at FKIP UHN was 99,428. It can be concluded that the learning objectives based on PBM carried out by lecturers in FKIP UNH are already "Very Good". 2) Overall, the suitability between the minutes of lectures and the questions tested by lecturers from each study program at FKIP UHN for UTS is 98.86% and UAS is 100%. So it can be concluded that the learning objectives to be achieved which have been programmed before have "Very Good".

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang timbul saat ini sehingga diberlakukannya sistem belajar dari rumah secara online. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan mengungkapkan pendapat mahasiswa mengenai kualitas pembelajaran di masa Study From Home. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP UHN sebanyak 72 responden. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kualitas pembelajaran selama mahasiswa melakukan sistem study from home. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) sistem belajar ini dipandang baik oleh responden (mahasiswa) dan dilengkapi fasilitas yang mendukung proses pembelajaran di masa study from home; (2) selama study from home, responden (mahasiswa) berusaha untuk belajar dan memahami setiap materi dengan media yang tersedia; serta (3) tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa banyaknya mahasiswa yang melakukan kerja sama dalam mengerjakan tugas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Think Pair and Share Cooperative learning model on mathematical communication skills in the material of Cartesian Coordinates for Class VIII of the Private Junior High School in Silangkitang Development. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the study population, namely all students of class VIII private junior high school construction of silangkitang. With purposive sampling technique and the sample in this study is class VIII-2. The instrument used is the Post-test from the learning outcomes that have been tested for the validity of the instrument and the observation sheet of communication skills. From the calculation results obtained the regression equation is 1 = -122.33 + 2.47X. For the posttest regression linearity test, it is obtained that F_count = 4.12, then F table> F_count or 4.12> 1.2827, then Ha is accepted. So that there is a linear relationship between the think pair and share cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. Then to test the meaning of the regression between X and Y obtained F_count = 7.9430 then F table <F_hitung or 1.81 <7.9430 then Ha accepted. So that there is a meaningful relationship between think pair and share cooperative learning with mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of the analysis of the linearity test and the significance of the regression test, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the think pair and share cooperative learning model on the mathematical communication ability of the Cartesian coordinate material for Class VIII of the Silangkitang Development Private Middle School. So it is hoped that this learning model can be used as an alternative to improve students' mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in students' mathematical communication on the Cartesian coordinates of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Balai. This type of research is classroom action research with 20 research subjects. The instruments used were tests and observations. The results of observations of student activities during the learning process are 75.5% in the active category, the observation of the results of teacher activities during the learning process is 3.3 in the very good category, the achievement of individual student learning completeness with the correct answer report is at least moderate or 65%, the achievement of learning completeness Classically, there are 85% of students obtaining individual student learning completeness at least moderate or 65%, there is an increase in the average proportion of student communication communication in CYCLE I which is 58.65 and CYCLE II which is 76.565, it can be concluded that the Two Stay Two Stray learning model can improve students' mathematical communication on Cartesian coordinate material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Open-ended problem learning approach on students' critical mathematical thinking on the matter of quadratic equations and functions in class IX SMP Santo Xaverius 2 Kabanjahe. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with the research population that is all students of class IX SMP Santo Xaverius 2 Kabanjahe. With the purposive random sampling technique, the research sample for class IX-A consisted of 35 students, but due to the pandemic, only 10 students were included. The instrument used was a post-test question in the form of an essay question that had been tested for instrument validation and a student response questionnaire regarding the application of the Open-ended problem learning approach. After conducting the research, the post-test average was 74.86 with a standard deviation of 21 , 34 and the mean score of the student response questionnaire was 74.4 with a standard deviation of 5.14. The results of the normality test indicate that X and Y are normally distributed. Furthermore, the regression and correlation tests were carried out with α = 0.05. From this test, it was concluded that there was a significant effect of the Open-ended Problem learning approach on students' mathematical critical thinking on the material of equations and quadratic functions for class IX SMP Santo Xaverius 2 Kabanjahe. After learning in the classroom, a questionnaire was given to students' responses regarding the Open-end problem approach and the final score was obtained with a good assessment category.
