Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology up to 2025 has positioned Computer Vision (CV) as a crucial field in industrial applications, increasing the demand for competent graduates. Vocational High Schools (SMKs) are intended to prepare students for high employability; however, a situational analysis conducted at SMK Telkom Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Indonesia, revealed a gap in students’ understanding and practical application of CV technologies caused by limited learning resources and inadequate curriculum integration. The Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, PkM) of the Electrical Engineering Department aimed to introduce fundamental CV concepts to enhance students’ competencies and support digital literacy initiatives. The program employed a project-based training approach, combining theoretical sessions with practical demonstrations of a real-time face detection system using Raspberry Pi 4, OpenCV, and YOLO. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through pre- and post-assessment surveys involving 30 participants (28 students and 2 supervising teachers). The results demonstrated successful implementation of an object detection system capable of detecting single and multiple faces with accuracy approaching 1.00 (100%). Survey findings indicated an increase in participants’ understanding of CV and digital literacy from 57% to 85%. Students’ comprehension of the difference between object classification and object detection improved from 64% to 89%, while their understanding of machine learning principles increased from 60% to 89%. Overall satisfaction with the program reached 89%. In conclusion, this community service program effectively bridged the competency gap and serves as a collaborative model between higher education institutions and vocational schools.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) was conducted to strengthen the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), homestay owners, and the tourism awareness group (Pokdarwis) in Lebakmuncang Village, Ciwidey, in addressing challenges related to financial management and digital marketing. The primary issues identified include the reliance on manual bookkeeping, limited digital literacy, and the absence of integrated online promotion. The program encompassed several activities, namely awareness sessions on digital transformation, training in simple financial recording, assistance in utilizing tourism map platforms and online marketplaces, as well as digital transaction simulations. A participatory approach was applied through workshops, mentoring, and direct practice. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ digital literacy and financial management skills, as evidenced by the increase in the average pretest score of 55 to 82 in the posttest. Furthermore, the program resulted in the establishment of a village tourism website as an integrated promotional platform, the creation of digital business accounts by ten MSMEs, and the online promotion of eight local products. This program has demonstrated a positive impact on enhancing financial management practices, expanding market access, and strengthening product branding. Therefore, integrating financial management digitalization with tourism map and marketplace platforms is proven to be effective in accelerating the digital transformation of MSMEs while supporting the sustainability of the creative economy in tourism villages.

Abstract

Higher   education is one of the institutions responsible for supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in their business. This responsibility is to foster MSMEs, enabling them to develop and contribute to economic growth. The purpose of this community service (PkM) is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the importance of calculating the cost of production and selling price for MSME actors. MSMEs are a rapidly growing business and support economic growth in Indonesia. Currently, there are problems faced by MSME actors in computing the cost of production and the selling price. This problem is caused by the limited knowledge and understanding of MSME actors in determining the cost of production and the selling price. Based on these problems, it is necessary to have training activities on the calculation of the cost of production and the selling prices for MSME actors. The partners of this activity are MSMEs that produce cheese sticks under the " My Cheese" brand as a home industry product. The approach of this community service activity is a service learning approach. This activity concluded that the training impacts the MSMEs' knowledge on calculating the cost of production and the selling price of products. The pretest and posttest of surveys conducted concluded that there was an 80% increase in participants' knowledge of cost, calculation of cost of production, and determination of selling price (before the training, only 20% understood the concept of cost, and after the training 100%).

Abstract

The training on making solid honey soap in an artisanal style was conducted as a form of life skill enhancement for the Indonesian diaspora in Malaysia, particularly those working in the informal sector. The partner group in this activity was students of the Klang Lama Assisted Learning Center, which is part of the Indonesian diaspora community. The training program was designed to improve participants’ competencies in creative honey soap production. The activities were carried out in three stages: the first stage involved preparation, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with partners, identification of participants’ needs, development of a pocket handbook, and provision of materials; the second stage consisted of implementation through material delivery and independent hands-on practice; and the final stage involved evaluation using pretest and posttest to measure improvements in participants’ skills and life skills. The evaluation results showed that 100% of the students stated that the training was beneficial, easy to understand, and provided new skills in handicraft production, particularly honey soap. Furthermore, 68.75% of the students expressed interest in making soap independently after the training. This program was proven to be effective in enhancing practical skills and life skills within the Indonesian diaspora community.

Abstract

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 5, which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women. Recognizing gender equality as a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for sustainable development, Koperasi Serba Usaha Lestari plays a strategic role in empowering women through local food crop management. The program seeks to enhance the competitiveness of local food products by involving 45 female group members in community-based activities. The methodology consists of three main stages: conceptual education, practical mentoring, and evaluation, tailored to each training theme. The three training modules include packaging design and techniques, business feasibility studies, and capacity building through organic waste utilization. The program resulted in a knowledge increase among more than 65% of participants, with the acquired skills expected to be applied within their groups to support local economic development and women's empowerment.
