Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of stages in therapeutic communication for accompanying children who are victims of violence in P2TP2A Aceh Province, as well as to examine the factors that encourage and impede it and to identify a therapeutic communication model. This study employs a qualitative methodology using a case study approach. Interviews, observations, and documentation studies were used to gather data. Two psychologists, two counselors, a case manager, and a paralegal served as research informants. The findings of this study indicate that there are many phases in the therapeutic communication process when working with children who have experienced violence: the pre-interaction, introduction, work, and termination stages. Obstacles in the counseling room and the psychological state of psychologists/counselors and children who are victims of violence are the inhibiting factors for therapeutic communication, whereas supportive factors include the attitude of psychologists and counselors, their competence, the attitude of children who are victims of violence, social support, and socio-cultural background.

Abstract

Technological advances that are happening today have had a significant impact and progress in various sectors, especially in the field of information and communication. Communication, in its various forms, is one of the aspects affected by these developments, including interpersonal communication. A close relationship between interpersonal communication and libraries can be found. The library, as a building, serves as a place where various activities related to managing, collecting, compiling, organizing, and processing library materials are carried out. Interpersonal communication plays an important role in the context of this library. This study applies qualitative methods in data collection by approaching literature review, namely "Interpersonal Communication as a Strategy for Increasing the Utilization of Library Services in the Digital Era". These data are obtained through online observations from websites that support data collection, from books and journals available. The purpose of this study was to understand the role played by interpersonal communication in service use strategies in libraries. In the application of interpersonal communication, librarians must have the following traits and attitudes. 1. Empathy 2. Support 3. Positive attitude 4. Equality or similarity 5. Openness. Interpersonal communication is used as a form of communication in this context. Interpersonal communication includes the interaction between communicators and communicants, either directly or through media or intermediaries. This type of communication is considered very effective in approaching, changing opinions, and human behavior as a strategy to increase the utilization of library services in the digital age.

Abstract

The cover of magazines plays a crucial role in conveying messages and influencing public opinion, particularly through cartoon illustrations. This research focuses on Tempo magazine, known as one of Indonesia's critical media outlets, especially during the New Order regime. With the upcoming 2024 presidential election, Anies Baswedan has emerged as a presidential candidate supported by the Coalition for Change. The study titled "The Interpretation of Anies Baswedan's Figure on Tempo Magazine Covers Related to the 2024 Presidential Candidate Discourse" employs a qualitative approach using semiotic analysis to understand how caricature images on the magazine covers reflect political dynamics and public opinion. The analysis is conducted on editions of Tempo magazine published on June 25, 2022, November 6, 2022, and January 29, 2023. The primary focus is to identify signs within the illustrations using Charles Sanders Peirce's triangle of meaning, which includes icons, indexes, and symbols. The results indicate that the caricatures on the magazine covers not only represent the main news but also reflect the complex political situation, including the uncertainties surrounding Anies Baswedan's candidacy in the 2024 elections. The conclusions of this research emphasize that Tempo magazine's use of caricatures is effective in shaping opinions and capturing readers' attention, with each edition providing different meanings related to the presidential candidate discourse and political dynamics in Indonesia

Abstract

Surah Fushilat verse 33 provides basic guidelines for da'wah activities with an emphasis on the importance of serving goodness, faith in Allah, and good deeds as the basis of Islamic communication. In today's digital era, da'wah has undergone a significant transformation through the use of information technology and social media as the main means. This study aims to analyze how the values ​​contained in QS Fushilat verse 33 can be implemented in da'wah in the digital era. The study used a qualitative approach with thematic interpretation method, connecting the message of the Qur'an with modern da'wah practices. The results of the study show that the main values ​​in da'wah such as truth, wisdom, and patience remain relevant and serve as guidelines in facing the challenges of digital da'wah, such as the rise of disinformation, lack of religious literacy, and social polarization. Optimal implementation requires mastery of technology, presentation of interesting content, and management of friendly interactions on digital platforms.

Abstract

Social media is a digital platform that facilitates several needs for social activities in cyberspace. These social activities such as communicating and interacting, or providing information in the form of writing, photos and videos. This makes social media play a role in all lines of life, including in the government sector, namely as a means of public dialogue space between the government and the community. This study aims to study, analyze, and describe the communication carried out by Banyumas Regent Achmad Husain with his community in virtual public spaces on his Instagram account @ir_achmadhusain. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach aimed at the Banyumas Regent Instagram account @ir_achmadhusain with the content analysis method. Researchers observed the Banyumas Regent's Instagram account and its interactions with the people who followed. The results in this study show that the The Regent of Banyumas made Instagram social media a virtual public dialogue space to accommodate aspirations, input, criticism and suggestions. In addition, Ir. Achmad Husain also uses his Instagram account as a means of public service such as; socialization media, providing education and information as well as virtual interaction spaces between himself and his people.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, communication technology is developing rapidly. This started with the discovery of the first technology that had an influence on human life. These technological advances have changed little by little the lifestyle and behavior of our society. The internet continues to develop until finally it gives birth to new media which refers to emphasizing cultural forms and contexts in computers. In Indonesia, the development of information and communication technology is growing rapidly. The role of society is very large in technological development. Technology shapes individuals in various ways of thinking, behaving in society and ultimately technology directs humans to move from one century to another. Technological developments have brought major changes to human behavior, both in the political, social, economic and even cultural fields. In this case, researchers try to determine the formation of public information and the massification of information as a result of technological developments which ultimately give rise to new media. This research analyzes using the theory of Socio-Cultural Change. Communication and technology are one of the factors that influence socio-cultural change. Social change has three dimensions, namely: structural, cultural and interactional. First, the structural dimension refers to changes in the structure of society. Second, the cultural dimension refers to cultural changes in society. Third, the interactional dimension refers to changes in social relations in society. The research results show that humans use the concept of new technology to refer to the emergence of a technology that has an important impact on social life. Technology becomes an instrument to achieve goals. In the end, the existence of technology is used as a tool to achieve the goals of human life.

Abstract

This research discusses the preaching and communication of Al Jam'iyyatul Washliyah cadres in strengthening Islamic law and religious moderation. Al Jam'iyyatul Washliyah is an Islamic organization that plays a crucial role in promoting a moderate understanding of Islam and building a society that adheres to Islamic law with wisdom and tolerance. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the role of Al Jam'iyyatul Washliyah cadres in strengthening Islamic law and promoting religious moderation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and the study of documents related to the activities of Al Jam'iyyatul Washliyah cadres. The results of the research indicate that the preaching and communication of Al Jam'iyyatul Washliyah cadres play a significant role in disseminating a true understanding of Islamic law. They guide the community in practicing Islamic teachings in a contemporary context, steering clear of extremism, and promoting religious moderation. Cadres are also active in preaching and engaging in social, educational, and community empowerment activities to build a socially just and harmonious order in accordance with Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities that arise in the era of media pluralism, as well as effective da'wah strategies in the era of media pluralism within contemporary society. This research uses the Library Research method, which involves the analysis of literature relevant to the established research focus. Primary and secondary data were obtained through research on relevant journals that support the research findings. The data collection method was carried out by gathering information and analyzing the media as well as the values of da'wah contained within it. The research results show that with the availability of various media, da'wah practitioners certainly face challenges and opportunities. The challenge of preaching practices in the realm of media pluralism in the digital era is the existence of differing views and beliefs among the community that are recognized and respected in Islam. There are also opportunities for da'wah practices that can be utilized. One of those opportunities is through online media. An effective da'wah strategy requires a careful and well-planned approach to achieve the goals of da'wah

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cultural and religious meaning contained in an icon in the district and city of Pekalongan. This study is a study using a descriptive qualitative method with a socio-historical approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study, the author shows that the icon in Pekalongan Regency is a three-dimensional Al-Qur'an and the icon in Pekalongan City is the Archipelago Gate. The existence of these icons is influenced by the religious conditions of the community in each region. The district is represented that the community is Santri, so the term Santri City is known in Pekalongan Regency. While the city, represents that the community is a batik businessman, so the term Batik City is known in Pekalongan City. Therefore, these two icons greatly shape each of Pekalongan's cultural identities, namely batik, painting, and the religious cultural identity of santri studying the Koran. Therefore, these two icons not only function as physical representations of the city and district, but also as religious symbolism and cultural identity that reflects the richness and diversity of the Pekalongan community.

Abstract

The role of social media for teenagers is related to psychological impacts, including mental health problems. As a social media platform that is popular to used, Instagram has become an educational platform for its users, one of which is as a medium for mental health education. One of the psychoeducational accounts that uses Instagram social media as a means to build awareness of the importance of mental health is Studio Jiwa. The use of social media in the health sector has shown the urgency in providing accurate and up-to-date health information. The thoughts of religious figures also have the potential to provide valuable insight into mental health. One of them is the thoughts of Abu Zayd Al-Balkhi in his work Mashâlih al-Abdân wa al-Anfus. This research aims to answer the problem formulation of how to analyze the content of @studiodjiwa Instagram content according to Philipp Mayring's Qualitative Content Analysis theory and the dominant message indicators in @studiodjiwa Instagram content. The research uses a qualitative approach. The technique used to obtain the data needed in this research is by observing and documenting. Then, to analyze Studio Jiwa's content, Philipp Mayring's qualitative content analysis theory was used. The results of the research show that there are 7 contents from 14 November 2023 to 11 April 2024, of which 5 contents are included in the indicator category for maintaining Al-Balkhi's mental health internally, and 2 contents maintain health externally. Meanwhile, the dominant message indicator in @studiodjiwa Instagram content is an indicator of maintaining mental health internally.
