Abstract

The Covid-19 Pandemic outbreak has changed various forms of life in society, including restrictions on activities in an open-source environment. The pandemic has also created various kinds of unresolved mental health problems, both in the national dan global area, both those who are directly exposed to the virus and those who are not. Today, the community is still struggling to control the spread of Covid-19, but on the other hand, it has caused the spread of feelings of anxiety, fear and mental pressure due to isolation, physical distancing restrictions, social relations, and other uncertainties. Therefore, these webinar activities were held as one of the online learning communication media, in terms of providing mattery regarding the molecular mechanism of antidepressant therapy, which during the post-Covid-19 pandemic its use increased due to social reasons. This webinar media was very effective without having to gather a crowd and aims to increase knowledge, especially among participants in terms of handling mental health such as depression in terms of its pharmacology therapy. Then, knowing the mechanism of molecular action can improve the optimization of antidepressant therapy according to the patient’s condition. The target participants in this webinar are health workers, students of health study programs, and common people. The webinar activity was conducted by the online system, using the Zoom meeting platform, and was held on April 15th, 2023, then was attended by 241 people, who came from all over Indonesia. From the implementation of the webinar activities, it is known that there has been an increase in understanding of the molecular matter that has been given, this can be seen from the percentage of the correct answers in the post-test evaluation compared to the answers in the pre-test.

Abstract

The human reproductive system begins to become active at the age of adolescence. Therefore, they are expected to understand how to maintain the cleanliness and health of their reproductive organs to reduce the risk of unwanted pregnancy and the transmission of HIV/AIDS. With this urgency, the following activities were carried out to provide education about reproductive health to adolescents in Sekaran Village, Balen District, Bojonegoro Regency. This activity was carried out to 47 students in grades 7, 8, and 9 of MTs Manba'ul Huda, Bojonegoro Regency. The activities were chosen using the methods of lecture and playing crossword, as the presence of games can enhance students' interest in engaging with the presented material. The data was collected using a questionnaire in the form of pre-test and post-test given to the students. Then statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test to measure the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. From these two values, it was found that there was an average increase from the results of the pre-test (32.34 ± 20.664) to the post-test (58.30 ± 26.826). From the results of data analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the method of playing crossword and lecture is effective for increasing the knowledge of MTs Manba'ul Huda students about adolescent reproductive health.

Abstract

Cases of depression in children and adolescents show high rates in Indonesia. According to Riskesdas (2018) adolescents (15–24 years) in Indonesia have a percentage of depression around 6.2% and according to the Yogyakarta branch of Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia or Indonesian pediatrician association revealed that 3% of school-aged children and 6% of adolescents experience major depressive disorder. This sizable number comes from the assumption of the public that depression does not occur in children and adolescents. Therefore, the provision of information that increases public knowledge about depression in children and adolescents must be carried out so that both early and curative interventions can be carried out so that in the long run, the prevalence of depression in children and adolescents is reduced. This effort uses two methods 1) disseminating information through Instagram content @semicolonial.id, and 2) digital campaigns via Instagram of each campaign participant. The increase in knowledge of campaign participants (N = 21, Range age = 14–50 years, Mage = 23.5) was measured using  pre-test and post-test. The data processing used a descriptive statistical data analysis through SPSS version 25. The results shows an increase in participants' knowledge before (Range = 40–100, Mean = 71.9) and after (Range = 60–110, Mean = 91.9) the campaign. In conclusion, this campaign was successful in increasing the knowledge of campaign participants about depression in children and adolescents.

Abstract

Indonesia's geographical condition, as a maritime country, has a wealth of natural resources in the form of water, which has the potential to support the economy in the aquaculture sector. One of them is the cultivation of freshwater fish ponds as has been carried out by the Maju Rukun Community Group (PokMas) in Ngerong Village, Pasuruan. Lack of equipment and knowledge in monitoring pond water conditions, resulting in problems with the fish nursery process. This is because water is a living medium for aquatic organisms, thus determining the survival of cultivated fish. Therefore, community service activities were held in the form of implementing an appropriate technology device "Arsenik version 2" and a mobile application that can be downloaded on Android to support water quality monitoring in aquaculture. In addition, socialization, training, and seminars regarding parameters of good pond water quality for fish farming were also provided to the Maju Rukun PokMas and the local community. Based on the positive response from the community, the implementation of the Arsenic device version 2 is considered very helpful in terms of monitoring the condition of pond water quality because it has informative parameter values and an easy presentation to understand so that the public can maintain the health of aquatic media for the aquaculture ecosystem in it.

Abstract

The Student Engagement in Village Development Program (PMMD) stands as a significant initiative undertaken at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology, with a keen focus on the development of Pantai Seraya. Situated on Sepinggan Raya I Street, RT 28, Sepinggan Subdistrict, South Balikpapan District, Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, Pantai Seraya embodies a captivating potential for natural tourism that appeals to the residents of Balikpapan. However, this promising potential is hindered by the lack of necessary facilities and infrastructure to deliver a satisfying tourist experience. The lack of visitor interest stems from this very condition. In this context, we strongly propose an urgent solution involving the construction of essential facilities, including seating arrangements, illumination, and waste disposal units at Pantai Seraya. The primary objective is to elevate the comfort of visitors. Nevertheless, sustainability also takes center stage in this development. With an expected increase in visits over time, preserving the cleanliness of the beach and its surroundings becomes paramount. This action will not only ensure a positive tourism experience but will also safeguard the coastal ecosystem for the long term. Consequently, Pantai Seraya is envisioned to emerge as a premier destination in Balikpapan, offering both economic and ecological benefits, creating livelihood opportunities for the local community, and fostering awareness regarding the necessity of maintaining beach cleanliness among tourists and local residents.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional condition in children with a high incidence in Indonesia, including in Desa Pancakarya, Kecamatan Ajung, Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur. This condition is caused by various factors, both from the mother and/or the child's side, which include the age of the mother during pregnancy, maternal and child nutrition, and the low level of maternal knowledge about nutrition and reproductive health. The high rate of early marriage (age ≤ 18 years) in Desa Pancakarya is one of the dominant factors correlated with an increase in the incidence of stunting in children because the nutritional status, reproductive system, and pelvic size of females are still not fully developed and ready to conceive and give birth to children. This community service aims to provide socialization about reproductive health to 9th grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Ajung, Kabupaten Jember. The results of the questionnaire to 39 respondents showed an increase in knowledge from the pre-test (65.87 ± 12.41) to the post-test (78.69 ± 18.57) significantly (p = 0.000) using the Wilcoxon signed test on SPSS. These results indicate that the socialization approach about reproductive health to adolescents has the potential to reduce the possibility of early marriage which is correlated with the incidence of stunting in children in the future.

Abstract

Food security is an important aspect in maintaining people's welfare. However, the main challenge in managing pekarangan as a food source is the efficient management of water for watering plants. Sengkolo Makmur has a yard that is used for food security in the Josenan area of Madiun City. So far, watering is done manually using human power. This watering is also not scheduled so that if the owner of the yard is busy then watering cannot be done. The use of an automatic watering system in the yard has become an innovative solution in increasing the efficiency of water management and plant care. The research method used includes discussions with the management, prototype design, and field trials. This activity describes the steps for designing and developing an automatic watering system involving temperature sensors, water pumps, and time controllers. The watering system is also equipped with a time controller to adjust the watering time according to the needs of plants at various times and seasons. This activity can be a guide for Sengkolo Makmur sustainable food garden managers in applying smart technology for water conservation and developing a greener environment.
