Abstract

This study examines factors influencing accounting learning difficulties among 138 students of the Accounting Education Program at Universitas Negeri Medan, with a sample of 117, which was determined using Slovin's formula and purposive sampling. This study employed descriptive and verificative methods, and data was analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Key findings reveal that interest in learning, motivation, talent, independent learning, and campus environment significantly impact learning difficulties. Specifically, higher interest, motivation, and talent, combined with a supportive campus environment, reduce accounting learning difficulties. The study highlights the importance of fostering motivation, independent learning, and a resource-rich environment to enhance academic success and prepare students for accounting careers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of technical machining skills competencies at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang to labor needs in the manufacturing industry sector. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The research instrument is a questionnaire given to 68 students in the 12th grade of the technical machining program. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis, calculating the percentage of respondents' answers based on the Likert scale to evaluate the alignment of the curriculum and graduates' competencies with industry demands. The research results indicate that the competencies possessed by graduates of SMK Negeri 1 Karawang are highly relevant and aligned with the demands of the job market. This is evident from the curriculum content alignment rate, which reached 85%. Specifically, graduates' competencies in cognitive aspects achieved a percentage of 86%, while psychomotor aspects also scored 86%. Meanwhile, the affective aspect received the highest score at 88%. However, there are still shortcomings in the mastery of soft skills, such as the 5S principles (commonly understood as Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain, though adapted here for workplace politeness and courtesy as Smile, Greeting, Politeness, and other relevant workplace behaviors might be more contextually defined) and 5P (Precision, Productivity, Maintenance, Prevention, and Improvement), as well as workplace safety culture (Safety) and work ethics. These findings recommend strengthening soft skills in the curriculum, enhancing collaboration between schools and industry, and conducting regular curriculum evaluations to ensure that graduates' competencies remain aligned with the needs of the job market.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the life experiences and self-efficacy of Muslim students affect their sense of self-confidence. The study adopts a quantitative approach, involving 251 Muslim students from various universities in Indonesia as respondents. An online survey was conducted to collect data, focusing on life experiences, beauty privilege, self-efficacy, and self-confidence). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques were used to analyze the relationships between variables. The results revealed that beauty privilege and life experiences significantly enhance self-confidence, with self-efficacy serving as a mediating factor. For Muslim students, life experiences have a greater impact on self-efficacy and self-confidence compared to beauty privilege. This study suggests enhancing self-efficacy to help Muslim students improve their self-confidence, considering their diverse life experiences and perceptions of attractiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to explore various creative strategies that music educators can use to stimulate students' creativity, so that they can produce original and meaningful musical works. The research method used is a literature review of various pedagogical approaches in learning music composition. The sources of research data come from various journal articles, books, and scientific publications relevant to the topic of music composition learning strategies and student creativity development. The data analysis technique was conducted through content analysis of the reviewed literature to identify learning strategies that are effective in fostering students' creative thinking, musical exploration, and artistic expression. The research findings show that learning music composition is an important aspect of music education because it can develop students' creativity as a whole, especially at the primary and secondary education levels. Approaches such as Experiencing Composition as well as the support of the learning environment, the active role of teachers, and the utilization of technology are important factors in creating learning experiences that encourage students to create authentic and meaningful musical works.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive media based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) to enhance the socio-emotional skills and learning motivation of elementary school students. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) and involves 42 students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The instruments utilized include questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The data analysis technique in this study applies validity analysis and effectiveness analysis, measured using the N-Gain Score. The findings indicate that interactive media based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) has proven to be effective in improving elementary students’ socio-emotional skills and learning motivation, as evidenced by comprehensive N-Gain Score data. The experimental class achieved an average N-Gain Score of 0.74, whereas the control class recorded 0.29, demonstrating a high level of success in the implementation of this media. The CRT-based interactive media successfully transformed the concept of regional diversity from an abstract idea into a concrete and meaningful learning experience for students, thereby increasing their active engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the character formation process conducted by educators and parents in developing empathy, creativity, and independence values in Totto-chan through semiotic analysis of signs in the film. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis to examine signs and their meanings in the film. Data collection was conducted through comprehensive documentation of the film, focusing on dialogue, scenes, character expressions, and visual contexts. The findings of this research indicate that character formation occurs through a holistic educational approach implemented by educators and parents. Empathy character is developed through an atmosphere of acceptance and appreciation of differences, creativity is stimulated through an inspiring environment, and independence is fostered through providing trust and responsibility. The research concludes that character formation is most effective when values are not only taught explicitly but also modeled and integrated into daily practices through meaningful experiences provided to children. The contribution to character education in schools is providing a holistic education model that can be adapted into curricula, offering practical guidance for educators in creating learning atmospheres that support character formation through behavioral modeling and meaningful experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the research trends and implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in improving various aspects of child development, the challenges of its implementation, and the direction of future research in the context of digital education for early childhood. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, with a bibliometric mapping approach and content analysis. A total of 17 articles were selected from the Scopus and DOAJ database in the period 2019–2024 for further analysis. The research findings show that the use of AR significantly enhances the learning experience to be more interactive, contextual, and enjoyable for children. In addition, AR has proven effective in conveying abstract concepts visually and helping to reinforce practical values such as financial responsibility from an early age. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, access to technology, uneven teacher training, and excessive dependence on technology are major obstacles to the widespread implementation of AR. The implications of this study highlight the importance of increasing technological support in educational institutions, developing AR applications that are aligned with the curriculum, and continuous teacher training. Thus, AR has great potential as an innovative medium in early childhood education, as long as it is balanced with the right implementation strategy.
