Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the Edmodo application on students' interest in online learning by testing the Delone & McLean model. This research method used an analytical survey with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of Duren Sawit 13 Pagi Elementary School, with a total sample of 92 students according to the measurement of the G*Power application, which consisted of VA, VB, and VC graders. This research instrument used a questionnaire via a Google Form. The data analysis technique used was the reliability test, validity test, and hypothesis testing using the SmartPLS application. The results of this study indicated that of the eight hypotheses tested, only two were accepted. In comparison, the other six hypotheses were rejected, meaning that the Edmodo application could not increase elementary school students' interest in online learning. It is caused by many students having difficulty using the application, students being less active during the learning process, lack of interaction between teachers and students, and not all students having adequate internet access. In contrast, this application was very dependent on the internet.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of inculcation of religious character values in Social Studies (IPS) learning at Islamic Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Cipeundeuy, West Bandung Regency. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach, and the research subjects included social studies teachers, students, the assistant headmaster, and the headmaster. Interviews, observation, and documentation were used as tools. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of this study indicated that: 1) Social studies teachers had planned social studies learning that integrates religious character values at the beginning of the school year or the beginning of the semester, including the preparation of annual programs, semester programs, syllabi, and lesson plans; 2) Implementing inculcating religious character values in the learning process included preliminary, core, and closing activities. The values of a religious character were piety to the almighty God, gratitude, respect, and tolerance for other religions, living in harmony with followers of other religions, and protecting the surrounding environment; 3) The efforts made by the teacher were to carry out the habituation of behavior according to religious character values continuously, providing exemplary good / commendable behavior through various activities; 4) The cultivation of religious character values in the social studies learning process was implemented following the lesson plans prepared by the social studies teacher. Students showed good attitudes/commendable inside and outside the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate student errors based on Newman's Theory when solving SPLDV questions. Newman's Theory classifies errors into five types: reading errors, understanding errors, transformation errors, process skill errors, and final answer errors. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. The research subjects were twenty-four students from class IX at SMPN 2 Kampar. Tests and interviews were used as data collection techniques. The instrument used was in the form of five test questions with proven validity. The data analysis technique of this research used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The analysis of student errors when answering SPLDV questions revealed that 6.92% of students made reading mistakes, 11.84% made understanding mistakes, 17.16% made a transformation error, 32% made a process skill error, and 31.62% made a final answer writing error. The most common mistake students made was a process skill error of 32%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of IT-based teaching materials on students' collaboration and communication skills when working with chemical bonding materials. It was a quantitative experimental study that used the problem-based learning (PBL) model. Field trials were performed in the experimental class (class X A) and the control class (class X B). These samples were determined through Saturated Sampling and Quasi-experiments design pretest, posttest, and Non-Equivalent Control Group design. Furthermore, the data were collected from the student communication and collaboration observation research sheet and were analyzed using an ANOVA test. The results showed that students' communication and collaboration skills in the experimental class increased, with an average score of 40 to 71.75 for student communication and 89.97 for student collaboration. As for the control class, the average score was from 41 to 45.67 for student communication, and the average score was 63.33 for student collaboration. The results of this study can be used as input for teachers and pre-service teachers to choose appropriate teaching materials to train students' communication and collaboration skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of career exploration on students' career maturity with different MBKM and non-MBKM curricula. This study used a quantitative approach with correlational research methods. The Career Exploration Scale (CES) and the Career Development Inventory (CDI) were used as measurement instruments in this study (CDI). The population of this research was active students with the non-MBKM curriculum (n=144) and active students with the MBKM curriculum (n=147). Both populations were from a university in Bandung's Faculty of Psychology. Data was collected from students with a non-MBKM curriculum (n=108) and students with the MBKM curriculum (n=111) of the Faculty of Psychology from a university in Bandung, with a probability sampling technique, namely simple random sampling. The data analysis techniques used in this research were regression and covariance analysis. The results showed a role for career exploration in career maturity in the non-MBKM and the MBKM curricula. The role of career exploration on career maturity differs between the two populations. It indicated that the curriculum significantly influences student careers, whereas the MBKM curriculum was more effective in preparing student careers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and explore the factors influencing student academic performance at St. Yakobus Merauke. This study used a quantitative approach with a probability sampling method to obtain information and data from respondents. Primary data was collected from 149 students, and data analysis techniques used structural equation model (SEM) analysis with AMOS 26.00 software. The results of this study indicated that the factors of social responsibility, student-teacher relationships, and student satisfaction had a significant effect on student academic performance. In addition, some elements must be considered, namely the ability of soft skills. This ability is related to the ability to cooperate with other people, interact with lecturers, build better communication relationships, and create a conducive and positive classroom climate which plays an important role in making the teaching and learning process more effective and efficient.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' mathematical communication ability through interactive multimedia-based teaching materials to support the smooth running of learning activities, especially in online learning. The method used in this research is experimental, with the research design being a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group carried out at two universities, Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) and Universitas Pasir Pengaraian (UPP). The data from this study were collected through tests. The test questions given relate to communication ability. The sample of this research was prospective mathematics teacher students who contracted the Structure Algebra course at UIR (experimental class) and prospective mathematics teacher students at UPP (control class) in the 2021/2022 academic year. The data collection method used is a mathematical communication ability test and a statistical test processes the test result data. Normality test using Kolmogorov-Smirnov and homogeneity test using Levene and the T-test. Based on the T-test result, a significance value of 0.016 < 0.05 was obtained. It means that there is an increase in the mathematical communication ability of a student who receives learning using interactive multimedia-based teaching material.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' metacognitive abilities and the effectiveness of digital-based constructivist teaching materials. It was done to improve students' metacognitive abilities. This study's method was an experiment with a quantitative approach. In this study, the pretest-posttest control group design was used. The ADDIE model was then used to create teaching materials. The MAI (Metacognitive Awareness Inventory) questionnaire instrument was used to assess students' metacognitive abilities. The treatment was provided to the experimental class by using digital-based constructivist teaching materials in the learning process. The aim is to improve students' metacognitive knowledge and skills. The independent sample t-test SPSS version 20.0 for windows was used to compare the two average values (pretest and posttest of the experimental class with the control class). The researchers then used the effect size test to determine the efficacy of digital constructivist teaching materials. It is for improving students' metacognitive abilities. The results of this study showed 1) From the total results of the validation assessment by experts and teachers of geography subjects, the final percentage of 86.5 percent was said to be feasible and valid to be tested. 2) As metacognition improves, so did the value of the metacognition test, which now had a gain index of 57.59%, which translates to "quite effective." Also, the average metacognition assessment showed good results. 3) Analysis of t-test results where the value of Sig. (2-tailed) for the analysis of posttest data was 0.000. The decision obtained was that H0 was accepted because 0.000 <0.05, then the data was significantly different between the control and experimental classes.
