Abstract

This study explores the psychological dynamics underlying dishonest behavior among Islamic boarding school students (santri) and the handling strategies applied within the Sultan Hasanuddin Islamic Boarding School environment. The research aims to (1) describe the forms of dishonesty exhibited by a student identified as GR, (2) identify both internal and external factors contributing to such behavior, and (3) explain the counseling interventions implemented to modify the dishonest tendencies. This study employs a qualitative approach with a clinical case study design. The research subject is a student who frequently engages in deceptive behavior in various school contexts. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, structured observations, and documentation analysis, then processed through data reduction, presentation, and interpretative conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that GR’s dishonesty appears in lying to teachers, manipulating information to avoid punishment, and concealing mistakes when reprimanded. Internal factors include excessive anxiety about sanctions, feelings of shame and inferiority, and cognitive distortions perceiving honesty as a threat. External factors consist of the strict boarding school regulations, high expectations from supervisors, and peer influence encouraging concealment of mistakes. The intervention applied was counseling based on the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach using the cognitive restructuring technique. The intervention focused on building a counselor-client relationship, exploring the motives behind lies, practicing gradual behavioral changes, and conducting continuous evaluations. The results indicate increased self-awareness, greater courage to be honest despite risks, and a strengthened commitment to reducing dishonesty as a maladaptive self-protection mechanism.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital telah mempercepat adopsi layanan psikologis jarak jauh, termasuk telekonseling, sebagai respons strategis terhadap meningkatnya kebutuhan kesehatan mental. Yogyakarta, yang dikenal dengan ekosistem digitalnya yang kuat dan tantangan kesehatan mental yang signifikan, menghadirkan kondisi unik bagi pengembangan layanan konseling berbasis teknologi. Tinjauan pustaka ini bertujuan untuk memetakan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi adopsi telekonseling di masyarakat Yogyakarta dengan menganalisis 91 artikel ilmiah yang terindeks dalam basis data digital Garuda. Sebanyak tujuh studi ditemukan berkaitan langsung dengan praktik telekonseling di Yogyakarta. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan telekonseling di wilayah ini mencakup studi konseptual tentang kompetensi konselor, pembuatan aplikasi siberkonseling, layanan pertolongan pertama psikologis yang disampaikan secara daring, serta penilaian awal minat pengguna dan hasil intervensi. Beberapa faktor kunci memengaruhi adopsi telekonseling, termasuk literasi digital klien, kesiapan dan kompetensi konselor, keterbatasan format komunikasi daring, kekhawatiran tentang keamanan data, dan beragamnya tingkat penerimaan di kalangan mahasiswa dan anggota masyarakat. Meskipun telekonseling telah menunjukkan potensi, terutama dalam konteks pendidikan, efektivitas dan penerimaan publiknya masih terkendala oleh tantangan teknis, etika, dan keterampilan. Tinjauan ini menyoroti perlunya peningkatan kapasitas profesional, standar layanan yang lebih jelas, dan evaluasi empiris untuk memperkuat implementasi telekonseling di Yogyakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the dynamics of early childhood care in farming families in Koto Rendah Village, with an emphasis on parental communication patterns, Islamic parenting approaches, and the influence of digital device use on child development. Using a qualitative case study approach, this study involved several families as key participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations, then analyzed using thematic techniques to identify patterns of meaning that emerged from the participants' experiences. The results of the study show that limited interaction between parents and children has an impact on weak digital supervision, especially in a limited socioeconomic context. However, Islamic parenting values such as role modeling, compassion, and trust-based communication can serve as a strong foundation for shaping children's character and preventing the negative impacts of technology. This study highlights the importance of improving digital parenting literacy integrated with Islamic values and the strategic role of Islamic education counselors in providing family spirituality-based guidance. Conceptually, this study enriches the study of Islamic education and family counseling in the digital age. Practically, these findings are relevant for the development of parent assistance programs, mosque-based interventions, and values-based child education policies. This study also opens up broader exploration to understand the challenges of digital parenting in different cultural and economic contexts.

Abstract

Academic burnout has emerged as a critical psychological issue among university students in the digital era, particularly as academic demands intensify alongside the increasing use of social media. This study aims to examine the influence of external factors and the intensity of social media use on students’ academic burnout. Employing a quantitative explanatory survey design, the research involved 214 university students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that measured family pressure, peer influence, environmental disturbances, social media intensity, digital-induced anxiety, sleep disruption, and indicators of academic exhaustion. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that external factors significantly contributed to burnout, with 72.4% of students reporting family pressure, 60.7% influenced by peer dynamics, and 44.9% experiencing physical environmental disturbances. Moreover, high social media intensity exacerbated burnout, as indicated by disrupted study time (59.8%), academic procrastination (54.7%), digital anxiety (60.7%), and reduced sleep quality (55.6%). The findings indicate a strong interactive effect between external stressors and maladaptive digital behavior in intensifying academic burnout. This study concludes that academic burnout is shaped by the cumulative impact of environmental pressures and excessive social media use, highlighting the need for comprehensive interventions such as strengthened social support, digital literacy programs, and healthier media engagement strategies to mitigate burnout risk among university students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine Islamic guidance strategies based on life skills in fostering self-efficacy and independence among students at the Yatim Al-Kasyaf Islamic Boarding School. The research scope focuses on three main aspects: planning, implementation, and evaluation of life skill–based Islamic guidance programs designed for orphaned and underprivileged students. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed to capture an in-depth understanding of the guidance strategies applied in the pesantren context. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques The findings indicate that the planning of Islamic guidance is systematically structured through the formulation of vision and mission, identification of students’ needs, and the establishment of long-term goals oriented toward strengthening self-efficacy and independence. The implementation is carried out through various life skill activities, including agriculture, livestock farming, entrepreneurship, food and chemical production, waste management, culinary arts, and digital media. These activities are supported by guidance methods such as lectures, learning by doing, discussions, habituation, and mentoring, with counselors serving as moral role models for students. Evaluation is conducted continuously through observation and individual approaches, including corrective actions for students with slower developmental progress. Overall, the study concludes that life skill–based Islamic guidance contributes significantly to the gradual enhancement of students’ self-efficacy and independence, reflected in improved self-confidence, perseverance, responsibility, decision-making ability, and emotional regulation across emotional, behavioral, and cognitive dimensions.

Abstract

Fenomena kecanduan game online, yang telah diakui oleh Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) sebagai gaming disorder , memerlukan intervensi yang cepat dan tepat, terutama pada remaja yang rentan terhadap perilaku adiktif. Kecanduan ini menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif, seperti gangguan psikososial (kecemasan, depresi, dan isolasi sosial), penurunan prestasi akademik, serta gangguan kesehatan fisik. Kondisi tersebut juga terlihat pada siswa SMPN 14 Surabaya. Intervensi konvensional di sekolah sering kali kurang efektif karena bersifat umum, sehingga diperlukan pendekatan yang lebih personal dan mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas Layanan Konseling Individu dengan Teknik Naratif sebagai intervensi yang kontekstual dan memberdayakan. Teknik naratif dipilih karena membantu siswa melakukan eksternalisasi masalah (externalizing the problem ) dan membangun narasi hidup yang lebih positif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest terhadap lima siswa kelas VIII yang memiliki tingkat Kecanduan tinggi. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan Game Addiction Scale (GAS) yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil pretest menunjukkan seluruh subjek (100%) berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rata-rata skor 84,2. Setelah enam kali sesi konseling, hasil posttest menunjukkan penurunan signifikan dengan skor rata-rata 28,4 atau penurunan sebesar 56,4%, dimana 80% subjek berpindah ke kategori rendah. Selain itu, terdapat perubahan perilaku positif seperti kemampuan mengatur waktu bermain dan peningkatan fokus belajar. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa layanan konseling individu dengan teknik naratif efektif sebagai upaya preventif dan kuratif dalam mengurangi Kecanduan game online serta meningkatkan kesadaran diri dan tanggung jawab akademik siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy and grit on self-regulated learning (SRL) abilities in 7th grade students of SMPN 2 Ngoro Mojokerto. The scope of this study focuses on internal factors that influence students' abilities to organize, monitor, and evaluate their learning process independently. The method used is quantitative research with a correlational approach. The research sample amounted to 228 students taken using a saturated sampling technique. The research instruments included the Self-Efficacy Questionnaire for Children (SEQ-C), the Grit Scale for Children and Adults (GSCA), and the Academic Self-Regulated Learning Questionnaire (ASLQ). Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with the help of the SPSS 25 program. The results showed that self-efficacy and grit have a positive and significant effect on self-regulated learning. This means that the higher the level of self-confidence and perseverance of students, the better their ability to regulate the learning process independently.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the process of understanding the meaning of a text. In English language learning, the researcher identified several problems: (1) students still have low reading skills, particularly in reading comprehension, and (2) English teachers have not yet applied appropriate learning strategies in teaching activities. As a result, students feel less engaged during class and struggle to understand texts effectively. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ reading comprehension and learning activity in class 7B of SMPN 2 Kabun in the 2024/2025 academic year through the use of the Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy. This research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The focus of this research was students’ reading comprehension. To collect data, the researcher used tests, observation, and documentation. Through the implementation of this strategy, it is expected that students can enrich their vocabulary and enhance their ability to understand reading texts more effectively. The data ultimately showed that only 33% of students met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) in the pre-test, with an average score of 48, indicating an unsatisfactory result. However, in the post-test, 83% of students succeeded in meeting the MMC, and the average score rose to 75. This demonstrates that the implementation of the Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy effectively improved the reading comprehension skills of seventh-grade students at SMPN 2 Kabun during the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hipotesis bahwa  kepemimpinan altruistik mempengaruhi kinerja dengan kreativitas dan sikap karyawan bumdes (badan usaha milik desa) sebagai variabel intervening. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif (mix method) atau sering disebut dengan metode penelitian kombinasi. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan SEM (Structured Equation Modelling) berbasis PLS (Partial Least Square) menggunakan software SmartPLS 3. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) Kepemimpinan altruistik memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kreativitas (Y1) karyawan Bumdes, (2) Kepemimpinan altruistik memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap sikap (Y2) karyawan Bumdes, (3) Kepemimpinan altruistik memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan Bumdes, (4) Kreativitas (Y1) memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan Bumdes, (5) Sikap (Y2) memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan Bumdes, (6) Kepemimpinan altruistik berpengaruh terhadap kinerja melalui kreativitas karyawan Bumdes, (7) Kepemimpinan altruistik berpengaruh terhadap kinerja melalui sikap karyawan Bumdes. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikan (p-value) kurang dari 5%.
