Abstract

Dalam dunia pendidikan saat ini, media memainkan peran penting, di mana proses pembelajaran telah beralih dari metode ceramah tradisional menuju penggunaan media pembelajaran. Terutama dalam pembelajaran yang berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan proses, media pembelajaran menjadi sangat penting. Pembelajaran yang dirancang dengan baik dan kreatif melalui penggunaan multimedia dapat meningkatkan peluang siswa untuk lebih memahami materi, memperdalam pemahaman mereka, dan meningkatkan kinerja mereka dalam mencapai kompetensi. Sebagai bagian integral dari pembelajaran, media memerlukan perhatian khusus dari para guru. Penggunaan media yang efektif dalam mendukung peserta didik harus disesuaikan pada tujuan pembelajaran. Kedatangan media dalam proses belajar dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami serta mengerti materi yang telah diajarkan. Penelitian studi pustaka ini dapat bertujuan guna mengkaji peran media pembelajaran multimedia interaktif untuk meningkatkan kreativitas mengajar. Dengan semakin berkembangnya teknologi, multimedia interaktif menjadi alat yang potensial dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran yang lebih dinamis dan inovatif. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini adalah penelitian yang menggunakan jenis penelitian studi Pustaka (library research) dengan pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dan data dikumpulkan melalui metode dokumentasi. Hasil yang didapat pada Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa penggunaan media multimedia interaktif memberikan dampak positif dalam mengembangkan ide-ide kreatif guru, memperkaya metode pengajaran, dan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar. Multimedia interaktif memungkinkan penyampaian materi yang lebih variatif dan menarik, yang pada gilirannya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This study analyzes the semiotics of intrinsic elements such as theme, characters, plot, and setting, as well as extrinsic contexts like Indonesian oral traditions, in the folktale Kancil and Buaya as children's literature. The research problem lies in the limited semiotic analysis of local folktales for character education. The objective is to describe representations, identify signs using Saussure and Peirce theories, and interpret symbolic meanings. Employing qualitative case study methodology with content analysis on folktale texts, findings reveal Kancil as a symbol of human cleverness (symbol per Peirce), the river as an index of life's obstacles, and the story as an effective moral education tool. Intrinsic elements form a simple narrative structure suitable for children, while extrinsic contexts reflect cultural values prioritizing intellect over physical strength.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Islamic Religious Education learning and parenting styles on students’ emotional intelligence. This research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of fifth-grade students of State Elementary School 22 Tumijajar, and the sampling technique used was total sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted through prerequisite tests, namely normality and linearity tests, followed by hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression. The results showed that Islamic Religious Education learning has a significant effect on students’ emotional intelligence. Parenting styles also have a significant effect on emotional intelligence. Simultaneously, Islamic Religious Education learning and parenting styles have a significant influence on students’ emotional intelligence. These findings indicate that the synergy between school and family environments plays a crucial role in developing students’ emotional intelligence. Therefore, improving students’ emotional intelligence requires active roles from both teachers and parents in creating supportive learning and parenting environments, enabling students to develop not only cognitively but also emotionally and character-wise.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the patterns and communicative functions of slang acronyms used by students of SMK Muhammadiyah 8 Siliragung in WhatsApp communication. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach.The data were obtained from students’ WhatsApp group conversations and collected through observation, reading, note-taking, and documentation techniques. The date were then analyzed based on morphological theory, particularly acronym formation, and the language function theory proposed by Roman Jakobson. The findings indicate that slang acronyms used by students are formed through several systematic patterns, including the retention of initial letters or syllables, the combination of syllables and letters, the selection of specific syllables with phonological modification, and word truncation. Although non-standard, these acronyms still adhere to Indonesian phonotactic principles, making them pronounceable and comprehensible within the speech community. Furthermore, the analysis of language functions reveals that the acronyms perform various communicative functions, namely conative, emotive, referential, and poetic functions. Among these, conative and emotive functions are the most dominant, as acronyms are frequently used to express commands, invitations, emotions, and personal attitudes in informal digital interactions. The referential and poetic functions demonstrate that acronyms also serve to convey information and create humorous or aesthetic effects. Overall, the use of slang acronyms reflects students’ linguistic creativity and social identity in digital communication, contributing to the study of morphology and pragmatics in contemporary Indonesian language use.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah in the spread of Islam in Indonesia, focusing on how Al-Washliyah, as an Islamic organization, contributed to the process of Islamization. The research objectives include uncovering the organization's history, its da'wah development strategies such as establishing madrasahs and adapting to local cultures in areas like Toba Batak and efforts to preserve museum buildings designated as cultural heritage in 2024. The methodology employs a descriptive qualitative approach with deductive analysis, data collection through literature studies, observation, and structured as well as open interviews with museum curator Silmi on March 11, 2026, at the Al-Washliyah Museum in Medan. The findings reveal that Al-Washliyah emerged from the initiatives of figures like Sheikh Muhammad Ya’kub and the waqf of Datuk Muhammad Ali; it managed hundreds of schools by 1941, spread da'wah to Mentawai, Karo, and abroad and implemented cultural adaptation strategies, aqidah development, and supervision to prevent apostasy. The museum faces challenges such as a lack of original artifacts but serves as an open educational center for the wider community.

Abstract

The problem in this research lies in the lack of students' spatial literacy skills in the material "knowing maps" especially in understanding symbols, distance, and determining location. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe in depth how students' spatial literacy skills in the material "knowing maps" in grade IV SDN 060921 Medan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach method, involving grade IV teachers and grade IV students. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the modelMiles and Huberman.The results of the study showed that the average spatial literacy ability in the map recognition material was 63.75, or had not yet reached the Learning Objective Completion Criteria (KKTP). This was because students found it difficult to read symbols, indicate directions, and determine the location of an area. Furthermore, teachers focused solely on map images in textbooks, so students felt they lacked understanding. The solution to this problem is to teach map material slowly, connect it to students' real lives, and create digital map media.. To realize this solution, the fourth-grade teacher sought resources to support the creation and use of the designed media. Furthermore, the teacher committed to teaching the material slowly and connecting it to the students' real lives.

Abstract

Elementary school students often experience difficulties in solving literacy problems based on reading texts. These problems indicate that students still struggle to understand text content, answer questions, and interpret information from reading passages. This study aims to analyze the factors causing these difficulties among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 060886 Medan. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects were fourth-grade students. Data were collected through essay tests to assess students’ comprehension of reading texts. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ difficulties were influenced by several factors, including low reading ability, limited comprehension of text content, limited vocabulary, and low reading interest. In addition, external factors such as lack of variation in teaching methods and limited literacy practice also affected students' abilities. The most dominant factor was students’ low reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of love-based values into a nature-based character education curriculum at MI Muhajirin Palembang. The background of this research is grounded in the importance of strengthening character education that not only focuses on cognitive aspects but also encompasses the affective and spiritual dimensions of students. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, with data collected from various relevant scientific literature published between 2021 and 2026. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify and interpret key concepts related to love-based values, character education, and nature-based learning.The findings reveal that love-based values such as compassion, empathy, care, and social responsibility can be effectively integrated into the character education curriculum through a nature-based approach. Learning activities that involve direct interaction with the natural environment are proven to enhance the internalization of these values in students’ daily lives. Furthermore, the successful implementation of this integration is strongly influenced by the role of teachers as role models and the presence of a supportive school culture. In conclusion, the integration of love-based values into a nature-based character education curriculum represents a relevant and innovative approach to developing students’ character in a holistic, humanistic, and sustainable manner. This study is expected to contribute to the development of character education curricula in madrasahs.

Abstract

High-level literacy skills, particularly in determining main ideas and providing logical solutions, serve as a crucial foundation for elementary school students. This study aims to describe the difficulty profile of fifth-grade students in determining main ideas and to evaluate the quality of the test instruments used as a basis for instructional improvement. The research method employed is a descriptive quantitative approach involving fifth-grade elementary students as subjects. The research instrument consists of written tests featuring explanatory and narrative texts on environmental and cultural themes, classified based on Bloom's Taxonomy cognitive levels (C1-C6). The results indicate a significant imbalance in ability distribution, with 50% of students falling into the "Needs Guidance" category. Students demonstrated high proficiency (80%-90%) in basic literacy questions at the C1-C2 levels but experienced a drastic decline in scores (below 40%) for C4-C5 level questions requiring the determination of main ideas and logical solutions. The primary cognitive obstacle identified is the students' tendency to copy the first or last sentences of a paragraph without an abstracting process. This study concludes that the developed test instrument possesses a strong introductory power in identifying students' learning obstacles. It is recommended to utilize graphic organizer strategies and scaffolding techniques to assist students in visually mapping text structures.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using modified learning tools on improving the basic technique of shot put. The research method used is an experimental method, specifically a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The participants in this study were 28 tenth-grade students at SMK NU Kelautan Kaplongan. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument utilized was a shot put test. The results of the study revealed that there was a significant effect of using modified learning tools on improving the basic shot put technique.
