Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by local wisdom videos in short story writing skills of junior high school students. The study used an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects were 20 seventh grade students. Data collection techniques were in the form of short story writing tests analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain tests. The results showed a significant increase in the average pretest score of 11.65 to 13.90 in the posttest. The t-test results showed tcount (7.66) > ttable (1.7291) at the 0.05 level. The N-Gain value of 0.548 is included in the moderate category. Thus, the PjBL model assisted by local wisdom videos is effective in improving students' short story writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to examine teachers' strategies in managing bilingual classroom learning in Indonesian language subjects for third graders at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Lamongan. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of bilingual learning practices. The results of the study indicate that teachers face major challenges in the form of limited foreign language skills and managing bilingual classroom interactions. Teachers implement various strategies such as the use of contextual language, practice-based learning, and utilizing the school environment as a learning resource. These strategies have been proven to increase student activeness, understanding, and motivation in learning Indonesian. The discussion shows that this strategy is important to implement because bilingual learning requires a balance between mastery of the mother tongue and a foreign language to avoid hindering students' literacy development. In addition, the contextual approach was chosen because it can create meaningful, enjoyable, and relevant learning experiences with students. The conclusion of the study shows that effective management of bilingual learning requires language competence, pedagogical skills, and teacher creativity. Therefore, it is recommended that ongoing training for teachers and school policy support be provided to improve the quality of bilingual learning in madrasahs.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The role of family in community life does not always well. The family has a function in terms of biological function, socialization, affection, education, religious, protective (protection), recreational, economics and function in determining social status. Parents who do not carry out their function and roles are called parental dysfunction. With the dysfunction parents this can cayse various of problems, one of which is in terms of independence (the process of maturation) of a child. The focus of the problems ini this study is that Cidunak community is worried about cases of family dysfunction that cause abandoned children. The problem factory of family dysfunction are related to cases of parental divorce, family dysfunction in support child, lack of communication, busy parents and the death of one parents. The purpose of research to find out the causes of family dysfunction and the relationship of dysfunction (non-functioning) of the role family in shaping children's independence the method used in this research is descriptive method using a qualitative approach. The tehnicque for determining research informants was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely determining informant according tp the topics of the problem, namely informants who experienced family dysfunction. The result of this studi indicated that the causes of parental dysfunction are domestic violence family divorce and the loss of awarness. With the dysfunction of parent it can cause children to have an independent attitude to take care of themselves without feeling the functioning of parents in the process of maturity. Keywords: Dysfunction parents, Independence children, Cilegon City. ABSTRAK Peran keluarga dalam kehidupan masyarakat tidak selamanya berjalan dengan baik. Dengan ketidakberfungsian keluarga dapat menyebabkan berbagai macam masalah salah satunya dalam hal kemandirian (proses pendewasaan) seorang anak. Fokus masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu masyarakat lingkungan cidunak dibuat resah dengan adanya kasus disfungsi keluarga yang menyebabkan anak terlantar. Faktor permasalahan dari disfungsi keluarga ini berkaitan dengan kasus perceraian orang tua, ketidakberfungsian keluarga dalam menafkahi, komunikasi yang kurang, kesibukan orangtua dan kematian salah satu orangtua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor terjadinya disfungsi dalam keluarga dan mengetahui korelasi disfungsi (ketidakberfungsian) peran keluarga dalam membentuk kemandirian anak. Adapun salah satu metode penelitian yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik penentuan informan dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara teknik purposive sampling, yaitu dengan menentukan informan sesuai dengan topik permasalahan artinya dengan menggali informasi mendalam dari para informan yang mengalami disfungsi keluarga. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan fakta bahwa salah satu faktor penyebab terjadinya disfungsi orang tua dalam keluarga di lingkungan Cidunak ini ialah adanya kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, perceraian keluarga dan terlepasnya kesadaran dan peran orang tua untuk bertanggungjawab terhadap anak. Dengan ketidakberfungsian orang tua itu dapat menyebabkan anak memiliki sikap mandiri untuk mengurus dirinya sendiri tanpa merasakan keberfungsian orang tua dalam proses pendewasaannya. Kata Kunci: Disfungsi Orang Tua, Kemandirian Anak, Kota Cilegon.

Abstract

This study looks at how elementary school teachers at SMP N 1 Makarti Jaya use role-modeling techniques to help students internalize a love-based curriculum. The development of compassion, empathy, respect, accountability, and spiritual awareness are emphasized in a love-based curriculum as fundamental character traits included into regular educational activities. The study uses a case study design and a qualitative methodology. In-depth interviews with educators and school administrators, classroom observations, and document analysis were used to gather data. Thematic analysis was used to examine the data in order to find patterns of teachers' exceptional activities. The results show that internalizing the values of love in both academic and extracurricular situations is greatly aided by teacher role modeling. Teachers exhibit consistency in their words and deeds, engage in courteous communication, empathize with their students, and include moral principles into the curriculum. Value internalization is further reinforced by habituation techniques, introspective dialogues, and cooperative exercises. Through organized character-building programs, mutual respect among students, and religious activities, the school culture also promotes the execution of the love-based curriculum. The study comes to the conclusion that instructors' personal integrity and capacity to serve as genuine role models for pupils are critical to the success of a love-based curriculum. In addition to influencing students' cognitive comprehension of values, teacher exemplary also molds their attitudes and actions. Therefore, maintaining the internalization of love-based ideals in Islamic educational institutions requires enhancing teachers' character and professional growth.

Abstract

The increasing amount of plastic waste in the community has become an environmental problem that requires innovative and sustainable solutions. This community service activity was carried out as an effort to empower the residents of Padang Mainu Village through education and practical training in processing plastic waste into environmentally friendly paving blocks using used oil as a melting medium and sand as a reinforcing material.The implementation included socialization on the environmental impacts of plastic waste, training on the plastic processing and melting process, mixing with sand, molding, and simple testing of the final product. The results showed that the community was able to independently produce paving blocks with adequate physical quality for non-structural use.This community service program successfully increased community awareness in managing plastic waste, reduced waste volume, and created opportunities for recycling-based economic activities. Overall, this program represents a simple, practical, and sustainable solution to support community-based waste management.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the importance of enhancing teacher professionalism in response to educational changes that are not only technical but also adaptive in nature. Common challenges in primary schools include resistance to change, conventional mindsets, and limited reflective and collaborative professional cultures. This study aims to analyze how the principal’s adaptive leadership practices contribute to improving teacher professionalism. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. The research participants consisted of one principal and six teachers selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic techniques involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of six adaptive leadership behaviors—get on the balcony, identify the adaptive challenge, regulate distress, maintain disciplined attention, give the work back to the people, and protect leadership voices from below—successfully created a dialogical, collaborative, and reflective working environment. These practices contributed to increased pedagogical autonomy, greater willingness to innovate, and strengthened professional culture among teachers. Therefore, adaptive leadership serves as an effective strategy for fostering sustainable teacher professionalism in primary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the relationship between Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and teacher performance, with work engagement as a mediating variable. The study employed a qualitative approach with library research. Data were obtained through literature analysis over the past five years (2020–2025) from reputable international journals and accredited national journals. The synthesis results indicate that strategic HRM practices such as continuous training, competency-based performance evaluation systems, fair compensation, and transformational leadership significantly influence work engagement. Furthermore, work engagement was shown to be the primary psychological mechanism mediating the relationship between HRM practices and teacher performance improvement. These findings reinforce Strategic Human Resource Management theory and research findings in The International Journal of Human Resource Management (2022) and Human Resource Management Journal (2021). This study concludes that optimizing strategic and humanistic-based HRM systems is key to continuously improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran IPS kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi ditentukan melalui teknik cluster random sampling, dengan SDN Sudimara 2 Ciledug sebagai lokasi penelitian. Sampel ditetapkan melalui pengundian kelas, yaitu kelas IV-B (25 siswa) sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IV-C (25 siswa) sebagai kelas kontrol, sehingga total sampel berjumlah 50 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes uraian sebanyak 10 soal, yang setelah uji validitas menjadi 8 soal berdasarkan indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis menurut Ennis. Tes diberikan dua kali, yaitu pretest dan posttest pada kedua kelas. Kelas eksperimen diberikan perlakuan menggunakan model PjBL, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model ekspositori. Setiap butir soal dinilai dengan skala 0–4. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen sebesar 85,42, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 70,22. Nilai N-Gain sebesar 73,9 termasuk kategori cukup efektif. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan thitung 7,79 > ttabel 2,01 pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05, sehingga terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan model PjBL terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Dengan demikian, model PjBL dinyatakan cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran IPS kelas IV Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sains siswa kelas 5 SD Kranji IV, Kota Bekasi melalui penerapan metode eksperimental. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (KTT) yang diimplementasikan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 siswa kelas 5. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi dan tes hasil belajar, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode eksperimental memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa. Kelengkapan belajar meningkat dari 41,6% pada siklus I menjadi 79,16% pada siklus II. Aktivitas guru dan siswa juga meningkat, di mana tindakan guru meningkat dari 80% menjadi 100%, dan aktivitas siswa dari 70% menjadi 90%. Penerapan metode eksperimental terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi tentang cahaya dan sifat-sifatnya, serta mendorong keaktifan dan partisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, metode eksperimental dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran alternatif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar sains pada siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reallocation of education funding in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and its implications for the reproduction of social inequality from Pierre Bourdieu’s perspective. Education, as a social field, is not a neutral space but an arena in which various forms of capital compete and shape opportunities for social mobility. The reallocation of education budgets to support the MBG program raises fiscal trade-offs that may weaken the emancipatory function of education, particularly for groups that rely heavily on public education services. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method through a literature study of policy documents, official reports, and relevant academic studies. The findings indicate that although the MBG program aims to improve human capital through nutritional interventions, the reallocation of education funding may exacerbate inequalities in the distribution of economic, cultural, social, and symbolic capital within the educational field. Such conditions potentially reinforce mechanisms of social reproduction through habitus and symbolic violence that operate subtly within the education system. Therefore, human development policies should be designed in a complementary manner to ensure that nutritional interventions do not undermine long-term investments in educational quality and equity.
