Abstract

Principals of good leadership should be able to work on improving the performance of teachers through staff capacity building program. Therefore, principals should have the competency-based supervision Permendiknas number 13 in 2007 that the principal has a duty to plan academic programs within the framework of professional supervision of teachers, carry out academic supervision of teachers by using approaches and techniques appropriate supervision and follow up the academic supervision of teachers in order to increase the professionalism of teachers. Professional teachers are needed in every school because with a professional teacher who will give birth to students who are competent, achievement, and has a culture and character of the nation so as to improve the quality of the school. In this paper, the researchers will try to examine the contribution of the principal supervision of teacher performance in teaching and learning and its implications on student learning outcomes

Abstract

The problem of this research is to increase cooperation attitude and student learning outcomes through the implementation model of Problem Based Learning on thematic learning themes subthemes 1 1 wonderful togetherness nation of cultural diversity in the class IV SDN Kencana Indah 2 Rancaekek District of Bandung regency. This study aims to determine the attitude of cooperation and improvement of student learning outcomes through the implementation model of Problem Based Learning in Scene 1 Indahnya Mutual Subtheme 1 Nation Cultural Diversity in Class IV. As the subjects in this study is the fourth grade students of SDN Kencana Indah 2 as a single class of 33 students. The research object of this class action is the improvement of the attitude of cooperation and student learning outcomes at 1 beauty togetherness theme of cultural diversity subtema one nation by using model Problem Based Learning. Implementation of a class action (PTK) was done 2 cycles and each cycle is done with 2 meetings and at the end of each cycle of observation to determine the result of increased cooperation attitude and student learning outcomes. The results of the research can be argued that the percentage of category cooperative attitude of students the observation of the first cycle of the first meeting included the category "Not Visible" reached 57.7%; category "Start Invisible" reached 72.7%; category "Start Developing" reached 39.4%; and the category "have been entrenched" reached 15.2%, while in the second cycle in the category "Not Visible" reached 15.2%; category "Start Invisible" reached 42.4%; category "Start Developing" reached 33.3%; and the category "have been entrenched" reached 93.9%. Besides the increase occurred in student learning outcomes of the first cycle that 45.5% to 84.8% in the second cycle. Thus it can be argued conclusion that the application of the model of Problem Based Learning can improve the attitude of cooperation and student learning outcomes in thematic learning themes subthemes 1 1 wonderful togetherness nation of cultural diversity in the class IV SDN Kencana Indah 2 Rancaekek District of Bandung regency.

Abstract

This study aims to improve understanding of the concept of students in respect of material diversity of tribes and cultures in Indonesia in class V SDN Cijati by applying Role Playing. Based on the lack of understanding of students during the learning takes place so that the study of students is less satisfactory. This study uses a Class Action Research (PTK) with system cycle of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles of the techniques used in this study is a technique tests, questionnaires and observations. Assessment Rubric RPP RPP using the first cycle has a percentage of 95% and cycle II has pesentase 100% results. Observation sheet IPS implementation of learning by using role playing in the first cycle has pesentase 96.3% and cycle II has pesentase 100% results. The results of post-test students who complete the first cycle has a percentage of 70%, while incomplete 30%, while the post-test results of students in the second cycle is finished to have a percentage of 100%. The result of understanding the concept of learners who complete the first cycle has pesentase 87%, while the result of understanding the concept of the second cycle which has pesentase 100% complete. Application of the method Role Playing very supportive towards the understanding of the concept of cherishing diversity of tribes and cultures in Indonesia, especially in primary schools Cijati. This is due to the application of methods Role Playing educators must be more active in learning, can accept ethnic and cultural diversity, as well as to develop social skills.

Abstract

Globalization brings forth huge changes in the workplace. Profession and work specification become more delicate than ever. Education is responsible in providing qualified human resources to answer those challenges. One of the most important parts of education is character education. Character determines the future of a person, society and nation. A nation fails to pass it core values will most likely to perish. This makes character education the most important responsibility of elementary education in our nation. This paper also examines the role of pre-school education in determining student?s achievement in elementary school and current pre-schools condition in our nation. The findings suggest that first, teacher education, teacher knowledge, skill, competence and integrity positively affect effective learning process including character education and graduate quality. Second, in this nation the participation level to attend pre-school which have positive effect on student?s achievement in elementary school is still very low. The main reasons are because most people didn?t aware yet that pre-school is important and the fee needed to access pre-school is still too high for some people. We need to educate our teachers in order to understand the importance of character education and be able to accomplish it. Strategic plan is also vital to ensure the education development. We also need to socialize pre-school to the society in order to encourage them to bring their children to participate in pre-school education.

Abstract

IPS Learning in school is still not as expected. It can be seen from the lack of understanding the concept of students in social studies learning. Results of the assessment implementation of learning in cycle 1 scored 3.3 with either category, and the second cycle increased with the acquisition value of 3.46 with both categories. While in the third cycle assessment learning implementation to achieve the target indicators of success with the acquisition value of 3.7 with a very good category. The results of the cognitive understanding of the concept of the product (P1) in the first cycle of the data obtained learners who pass as many as 10 0rang learners with a percentage of 43.47%. In the second cycle there was an increase of learners who pass to 15 students with a percentage of 65.21%. In the third cycle increased to reach the indicators of success with learners who completed 20 people learners (86.9%). The result of understanding the concept of cognitive processes (P2) in the first cycle of the data obtained learners who completed a total of 12 0rang learners with a percentage of 52.17%. In the second cycle there was an increase of learners who pass to 16 students with a percentage of 69.56%. In the third cycle increased to reach the indicators of success with learners who completed 20 people learners (86.9%). The result of understanding the concept of psychomotor (P3) in cycle 1 earn a percentage of 60.52%. In the second cycle obtain an increase in the percentage of 78.26%. In the third cycle increased to reach the indicators of success with the acquisition of a percentage of 85.21%.

Abstract

The learning approach that is held in generally still conventional still dominated by a class that focuses on teachers as the main source. Just as in mathematics, in learning the teacher directly convey the formulas, definitions, rules, laws, concepts, procedures, and algorithms. Learners are expected to mimic what the teacher described the math lessons that it provides. One of the many alternative approaches applied in teaching mathematics is to use a constructivist approach. This approach is an effort to improve understanding of the concept of learners towards learning mathematics. Constructivist learning approach assumes that learners should be active mentally build knowledge structures based on cognitive maturity has. With regard dengaan classroom action research that uses a constructivist approach in teaching mathematics to increase understanding of the concept of learning material multiplication in third grade at SDN Cibaduyut 4 Districts Bandung Kidul Bojongloa by the number of learners as many as 40 children. The instrument used in this study is a learning device that consists of a lesson plan and worksheets, data collection instruments consisted of the test and non-test. From the research we concluded that constructivist learning approach can improve understanding of the concept of multiplication for learners grade 3 SDN Cibaduyut 4. Seen from the attitude that learners can give a positive response to learning that have significant impact on the quality of the learning process and learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-confidence antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) dan yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Selain itu, diungkap pula korelasi antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-confidence, baik siswa kelas MMP maupun siswa kelas konvensional. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 75 siswa kelas IX yang berasal dari dua kelas di MTs Negeri I Subang. Kedua kelas diberikan pretes dan postes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, dan diberi angket awal dan angket akhir self-confidence. Hipotesis penelitian diuji dengan uji parametrik (uji t dan uji korelasi Product Moment Pearson) dan uji non parametrik (uji Mann Whitney). Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa: (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada siswa kelas kontrol; (2) peningkatan self-confidence siswa kelas ekperimen lebih baik daripada siswa kelas kontrol; (3) terdapat korelasi yang positif antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-confidence siswa, baik siswa kelas eksperimen maupun siswa kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Pendekatan pembelajaran yang sering digunakan oleh guru di dalam kelas lebih cenderung menggunakan pembelajaran biasa, sehingga siswa sangat sedikit diberikan kesempatan untuk mengaktualisasikan kemampuan menalar dan mengrepresantasikan masalah dalam soal matematika. Kemampuan penalaran dan representasi merupakan kemampuan yang dibutuhkan siswa dalam belajar matematika, untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar siswa menjadi optimal. Oleh karena itu, guru dapat memilih dan menerapkan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan penalaran dan kemampuan representasikan siswa. Penelitian ini menerapkan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Open-Ended. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat efektif meningkatkan penalaran dan kemampuan representasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan penalaran dan kemampuan siswa melalui pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Open-Ended, untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan penalaran dan kemampuan representai siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Open-Ended dan pembelajaran matematika biasa, dan respon siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan Open-Ended. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dipilih secara acak dua kelas untuk dijadikan kelas eksprimen dan kontrol. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif dan data kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pretest dan postest sehingga dapat dilihat perbedaan kemampuan penalaran dan kemampuan representasi dua kelas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kemampuan penalaran dan kemampuan representasi siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran matematika dengan Open-Ended lebih baik. Dan secara pengolahan data dengan taraf 5% kemampuan penalaran dan kemampuan representasi siswa kelas eksperimen, yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Open-Ended lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran biasa, dengan rata-rata kelas eksperimen 33,79 dan kelas kontrol 29,07. Dari hasil angket dapat disimpulkan bahwa respon siswa sangat positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Open-Ended. Dengan demikian pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan Open-Ended dapat dijadikan suatu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran dan kemampuan representasi siswa.

Abstract

Minat dan kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa masih bisa dikatakan kurang baik yang berakibat kepada hasil belajar, khususnya di SMP Negeri 2 Pamanukan. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan oleh guru dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa adalah dengan memilih model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan tujuan yang ingin dicapai. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dirasa efektif dan efisien dalam pengajaran adalah metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui 1) Mendeskripsikan peningkatan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD 2) Mendiskripsikan Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. 3) apakah kemampuan pemahaman matematika yang mengunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik daripada kemampuan pemahaman matematika yang menggunakan pembelajaran ekspositori. 4) Bagaiman minat siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif dan pembelajaran ekspositori. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Mixed Method dan PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman matematika dan skala minat. Abstract

Berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan multimedia Geogebra lebih baik dibandingkan menggunakan model PBL tanpa multimedia Geogebra; Motivasi belajar siswa pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan model PBL dengan multimedia Geogebra tidak lebih baik dibandingkan dengan yang pembelajaran model PBL tanpa multimedia Geogebra; Motivasi belajar siswa pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan model PBL tanpa multimedia Geogebra lebih baik dibandingkan dengan siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan konvensional; Motivasi belajar siswa pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan model PBL dengan multimedia Geogebra lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan konvensional; Adanya asosiasi (hubungan) berupa hubungan positif antara motivasi belajar siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa, dengan koefisien korelasi yang sangat tinggi. Beberapa kerbatasan dalam penggunaannya yaitu pada penggunaan multimedia Geogebra. Hal ini karena model pembelajaran yang menggunakan multimedia geogebra perlu pemahaman komputer yang lebih baik.
