Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Canva application in improving the reading skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Bontomanai, Tamalate District, Makassar City. This study was quantitative with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The study subjects consisted of 50 students divided into two classes: an experimental class (using Canva) and a control class (not using Canva). Data were collected through pretests and posttests, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant difference between the posttest scores of the experimental class (mean = 76.80) and the control class (mean = 60.00), with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05. Thus, the use of the Canva application is effective in improving students' reading skills.

Abstract

The background of the author discussing this is because along with the development of the increasingly modern era, it has an impact on the development of increasingly sophisticated technology, thus requiring humans to follow the developments that occur. The use of technological developments in the economy in this modern era can be seen in the development of businesses that are currently penetrating the online system, and also occurs in the payment system, one of which is the non-cash payment system through an electronic wallet. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of using E-Wallet (OVO) in increasing the efficiency of financial transactions. to determine the role of security and privacy in increasing the effectiveness of using E-Wallet (OVO). This study uses a qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that the Effectiveness of Using E-Wallet (OVO) in Digital Payments for Islamic Banking Study Program Students at UIN Bukittinggi is effective in increasing the efficiency of user financial transactions because transactions using E-Wallet (OVO) are very easy, besides that transactions using E-Wallet (OVO) also have a good security and privacy system so that it can increase user trust in E-Wallet (OVO).

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology drives digital transformation in various sectors, including banking. Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) responded to this trend by presenting the BSI Mobile service as a form of digitalization of Islamic banking. However, out of a total of 19.2 million BSI customers, only around 6.3 million are recorded as using the mobile banking service. This low adoption rate indicates the need for further understanding of the factors that influence the use of BSI Mobile. This study aims to examine the determinants of BSI Mobile usage using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) model, which consists of the variables Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, and Habit, as well as two dependent variables, namely Behavioral Intention and Behavioral Usage. The study was conducted with a quantitative approach using a survey method of 100 BSI Mobile user respondents in the Bukittinggi area. The data analysis technique used Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the study indicate that performance expectancy, social influence, habit have a significant effect on behavioral intention which in turn has a significant effect on behavioral usage to use BSI Mobile. Meanwhile, Facilitating conditions and habits have a significant effect on behavioral usage. For effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price value do not have a significant effect on behavioral intention and behavioral usage. These findings are expected to be a reference for banks in improving more effective and efficient digitalization service strategies, especially in Islamic banking.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare and contrast the pre- and post-merger financial results of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). Methodologically, this study was descriptive quantitative in nature. This study use Du Pont analysis as its analytical method. The study found that return on assets (ROA) changed both before and after the merger. Earnings per share (ROS) shift before and after a merger. After the merger, Total Asset Turnover (TATO) is the same as it was before. Net Profit Margin (NPM) changes between pre- and post-merger periods. A portion of the merger's goals have been met, according to the study's findings. As a result, BSI's financial performance increases across the board, including ROA, ROE, and NPM. Another thing that stays the same before and during the merger is the TATO ratio of the Bank Syariah Indonesia entity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between student motivation and parental attention toward the learning outcomes of Social Science (IPS) in fifth-grade students at SD President. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade students at SD President, while the research objects included student motivation, parental attention, and IPS learning outcomes. A correlational research approach was employed, with a sample size of 24 students selected from the entire fifth-grade population at SD President. Data were collected using scales to measure motivation, parental attention, and IPS learning outcomes. This study applied non-parametric statistics and was conducted on the entire population. The data analysis technique used was hypothesis testing through the product-moment correlation. The results indicate that at a 5% significance level, the correlation coefficient between motivation and parental attention toward learning outcomes was 0.565, which exceeds the critical value of 0.239. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between student motivation, parental attention, and learning outcomes in IPS for fifth-grade students at SD President.

Abstract

Tolerance in Islam is a fundamental principle that underpins social interactions in a diverse society. This article aims to investigate the understanding and practice of tolerance within Islam using a qualitative approach. The methodology includes in-depth interviews with various respondents, including religious leaders, academics, and community members, providing a broad perspective on tolerance. The research design is a case study focused on thematic analysis to identify the thought patterns and experiences of respondents regarding tolerance. The findings indicate that tolerance in Islam is perceived as an attitude of mutual respect and acceptance of differences. Respondents emphasize the importance of interfaith dialogue and collaboration in social activities to foster harmonious relationships. Although many have implemented the values of tolerance in their daily lives, challenges such as extremism and the misuse of religious teachings remain obstacles. The discussion in this article highlights that inclusive religious education and open dialogue are essential to address these challenges. By referencing the teachings of the Quran, which stresses that there is no compulsion in religion, this article concludes that strengthening the values of tolerance in the Muslim community is crucial for creating a peaceful and harmonious environment. It is hoped that these findings can serve as a reference to enhance awareness of the importance of tolerance in religious life and encourage efforts toward a more inclusive society.

Abstract

The emergence of broken homes places children under unnecessary burdens and psychological impacts. To help children navigate the stunted growth caused by broken homes, this study examined the role of counselors in addressing the psychological impact of broken families on children. The results indicate that the presence of counselors within the community and the environment can help children improve their emotional well-being, build self-confidence, and develop social skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the integration of green education into science learning as an effort to foster environmental awareness among elementary school students. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving a science teacher and fourth-grade students at Elementary School in Magetan District. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that science learning integrated with green education is characterized by contextual, experiential, and environmentally oriented learning activities. The learning process includes planning environment-based project modules, implementing active learning strategies, and conducting authentic assessments covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The integration of green education has been shown to increase students’ environmental awareness and behaviors, such as properly disposing of waste, conserving water and energy, and participating in school greening programs. Therefore, integrating green education into science learning is an effective strategy to cultivate ecological character and support sustainable education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Active Learning-integrated teaching module for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) to enhance the learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of the study are fourth-grade students in Magetan District. The research instruments include expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, implementation observation sheets, and learning outcome tests (pre-test and post-test). The results show that the developed teaching module received an average validation score of 89% (highly feasible) from subject matter experts, media experts, and practitioner teachers. The practicality of the module, based on teacher (87%) and student (85%) responses, falls within the practical to very practical category, indicating that the module is easy to use in the learning process. The effectiveness of the module was also demonstrated by a significant improvement in students' average learning outcomes, from 66.4 (pre-test) to 83.7 (post-test), with paired t-test results showing a significant difference (p < 0.05) and an N-Gain score of 0.56, which is considered effective. Therefore, the Active Learning-integrated IPAS teaching module developed in this study is proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving elementary school students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ difficulties in developing ideas and expressing them in biographical texts. Many students were less active and faced challenges in using appropriate structure and language. Therefore, the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) learning model was applied as an alternative solution. This study aims to describe teacher and student activities in learning to write biographical texts using the TSTS model and determine its effectiveness in improving the writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMKN 1 Jatibarang. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group design. The population consisted of 423 students, with class X TJKT 1 (35 students) as the experimental class and X TJKT 2 (35 students) as the control class, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and written tests (pretest–posttest). The results showed increased learning activity, with teacher activity scores reaching 83.88 and student activity in the experimental class 83.33 (good category), while the control class scored 73.33 (fair category). The average writing score in the experimental class rose from 62.2 to 87.3, while the control class increased from 63.2 to 77.4. The Independent Samples t-test showed Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 and t-count 13.019 > t-table 1.995, indicating a significant difference. Thus, the TSTS model effectively improves students’ writing ability, activeness, and collaboration.
