Abstract

This study addresses the increasing prevalence of deviant behaviors among students in the digital era, such as cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate online content, and weakened self-control, which pose serious challenges to moral and character development in educational settings. The purpose of this research is to examine the role of character-based Islamic education as a preventive strategy against deviant behavior and to analyze the strategies implemented by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ moral, spiritual, and social awareness. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method to obtain an in-depth and holistic understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAI teachers and students in madrasah settings, and were analyzed thematically to identify key patterns and meanings. The findings indicate that character-based Islamic education plays a significant role in preventing deviant behavior by strengthening internal moral awareness, self-control, and ethical decision-making rooted in faith (iman) and piety (taqwa). Effective strategies include teacher role modeling (uswah hasanah), habituation of positive religious practices, integration of moral values into daily learning activities, and collaboration between schools, families, and communities. These strategies contribute to the development of positive social behavior, responsibility, discipline, and resilience against negative digital influences. The study concludes that character-based Islamic education offers a holistic and contextual preventive approach, emphasizing internal moral formation rather than external control, and is highly relevant for addressing contemporary behavioral challenges faced by students in the digital age.

Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media for elementary school students has become a crucial need in the digital era. Challenges faced by conventional learning, such as low motivation and difficulty understanding abstract concepts, drive the need for innovative teaching methods. This study aims to analyze the types of technology-based learning media that are effective in increasing elementary school students' motivation and understanding. The method used is descriptive qualitative through literature review and case studies. The results show that interactive multimedia, mobile applications, educational games, learning videos, and LMS contribute positively to learning motivation and conceptual understanding. Technology integration also supports the development of students' digital skills and creates more effective and engaging learning.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the jama' method in learning tahfiz al-Qur'an at the BKB Kemas Mawar Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institution. The congregational method is a method of memorizing the Qur'an that emphasizes memorization collectively or in groups. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research show that the implementation of the jama' method in PAUD BKB Kemas Mawar has been implemented well. This method is considered effective in increasing motivation and the ability to memorize the Koran in young children. Apart from that, the jama' method is also able to create a fun and collaborative learning atmosphere between students. However, there are several obstacles to its implementation, such as variations in children's abilities, availability of teaching resources, and limited learning time. Therefore, efforts are needed to optimize the application of the jama' method through improving teacher quality, more efficient time management, and adapting to student characteristics. Abstract

The reading comprehension ability of third-grade elementary school students is still low despite the implementation of various conventional teaching strategies. This gap hinders the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile in the Merdeka Curriculum. This study analyzes the effect of the Cooperative Script learning model assisted by Canva animation media on the reading comprehension ability of lower-grade elementary school students. A quasi-experimental study with a Non-Equivalent Post-Test Only Control Group Design was used in this study. The research subjects consisted of 47 third-grade elementary school students, with 29 students in the experimental group and 18 students in the control group. Data were collected through a 20-item multiple-choice test measuring Bloom's taxonomy levels C1-C6 in narrative texts, validated for content by two experts, and tested for reliability using KR-20. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, and independent t-test with pooled variance. The research results analyzed a significant increase in reading comprehension skills in the experimental group that received the Cooperative Script model assisted by Canva animation compared to the control group. The visual collaborative model proved to optimize comprehension from literal to critical levels through alternating oral summaries and dynamic text visualizations. This study concludes that integrating the Cooperative Script with digital animation media is effective in closing the elementary literacy gap, supporting essential learning in the Independent Curriculum. Its implications include producing ready-to-use teaching modules for Indonesian language teachers and recommendations for digital literacy policies in elementary school clusters.

Abstract

The This study aims to improve poetry writing skills through the sensory writing learning method for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Serenan in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 19 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, interviews, and field notes. The assessment aspects included title selection, figurative language, diction, message, and creativity. The results showed an improvement in students’ learning outcomes. In Cycle I, the average score was 67.36 (fair category), which increased to 81.25 (good category) in Cycle II. The improvement reached 20.62% and met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (70). Therefore, the sensory writing method is effective in enhancing students’ poetry writing skills. Keywords: Sensory Writing, Poetry Writing, Writing Skills, Classroom Action Research, Elementary School ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi melalui metode pembelajaran sensory writing pada siswa Kelas V SD Negeri 1 Serenan Tahun Pelajaran 2025/2026. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 19 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, tes, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Aspek penilaian meliputi pemilihan judul, gaya bahasa, diksi, amanat, dan kreativitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 67,36 dengan kategori cukup, kemudian meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 81,25 dengan kategori baik. Peningkatan hasil belajar mencapai 20,62% dan telah memenuhi Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan yaitu 70. Dengan demikian, metode sensory writing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa. Abstract

ABSTRACT The character building of elementary school students faces challenges in the form of low discipline and disrespectful behavior due to a lack of leadership role models and uncontrolled exposure to social media. This study analyzes the influence of Asta Brata leadership practices and social media on student character. This ex-post facto quantitative study with a survey design involved 115 teachers from a population of 161 teachers in 17 elementary schools as the main subjects. Data were collected using a 4-point Likert questionnaire with 59 items that had been validated by two experts and were highly reliable with Cronbach's Alpha between 0.802 and 0.983. Data analysis used Spearman's non-parametric statistics through IBM SPSS Statistics 25 after testing for normality and linearity prerequisites. The results showed that the practice of Asta Brata leadership significantly shaped student character with a moderate positive relationship, while social media had no significant effect. Hindu Balinese local wisdom-based leadership proved to be effective as a dominant moral example at an early age compared to digital influences. The study recommends mandatory Asta Brata training for elementary school principals as a strategy to strengthen national character based on local culture. Keywords: Asta Brata Leadership, Social Media, Student Character, Local Wisdom ABSTRAK Pembentukan karakter siswa sekolah dasar menghadapi tantangan rendahnya disiplin dan perilaku tidak hormat akibat minimnya teladan kepemimpinan serta paparan media sosial yang tidak terkendali. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh praktik kepemimpinan Asta Brata dan media sosial terhadap karakter siswa. Penelitian kuantitatif ex-post facto dengan desain survei ini melibatkan 115 guru dari populasi 161 guru di 17 sekolah dasar sebagai subjek utama. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner Likert 4 poin dengan 59 item yang telah divalidasi isi oleh dua pakar dan reliabel tinggi dengan Cronbach Alpha antara 0,802 hingga 0,983. Analisis data menggunakan statistik non-parametrik Spearman melalui IBM SPSS Statistics 25 setelah uji prasyarat normalitas dan linearitas. Hasil menunjukkan praktik kepemimpinan Asta Brata secara signifikan membentuk karakter siswa dengan hubungan positif sedang, sedangkan media sosial tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Kepemimpinan berbasis kearifan lokal Hindu Bali terbukti efektif sebagai teladan moral dominan pada usia dini dibandingkan pengaruh digital. Penelitian merekomendasikan pelatihan Asta Brata wajib bagi kepala sekolah SD sebagai strategi penguatan karakter nasional berbasis budaya lokal. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the NHT learning model on mathematics learning outcomes in Grade II of SDN 1 Pinoh Utara. Based on the results of observations and interviews, the researcher found that students were less active in class because learning was centered on the blackboard. This resulted in student learning outcomes that were still below the minimum competency standard (KKM). This study was an experimental study, a pre-experimental type with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was the entire second grade, and the sample was selected using a saturated sampling technique. The sample in this study was Grade II with 14 students. The data collection technique and instrument in this study was a test, using a multiple-choice sheet consisting of 10 pretest questions and 10 posttest questions. The results of the study indicate that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the differentiated learning model was implemented. The significance value obtained was 0.001 > 0.5& and t_count = 30.241 > t_table = 0.576, which means that there was a real effect on the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, H0 was rejected and HI was accepted, so it can be concluded that there was an effect of the NHT learning model assisted by angle clock media on student learning outcomes in mathematics learning. Thus, the application of the differentiated learning model has proven to be effective in improving elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes. This learning provides opportunities for students to learn according to their individual styles and abilities, while helping teachers create a more inclusive, active, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

Abstract

The Role of the Family Environment on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Sixth Grade Students at SD GMIT Kuanino 1. Thesis, Elementary School Teacher Education Program, Universitas Citra Bangsa Kupang. This study aims to analyze the factors that hinder low mathematics learning outcomes among elementary school students, particularly sixth grade students at SD GMIT Kuanino 1, in terms of internal and external factors, as well as to identify the role of the family environment in students’ mathematics learning outcomes. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of the classroom teacher, sixth grade students, and parents, while the object of the study was the role of the family environment in mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain a clear and in-depth description of the conditions of mathematics learning in elementary schools. The results of the study indicate that low mathematics learning outcomes are influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors include low concentration and student activeness, lack of learning motivation and interest, low self-confidence, and suboptimal learning discipline. External factors include monotonous teaching methods, high levels of task difficulty, unconducive classroom atmosphere, limited learning facilities, lack of parental assistance and motivation, and weak collaboration between schools and families. The role of the family environment in improving mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students is manifested through providing motivation and appreciation, supplying adequate learning facilities, assisting and supervising learning activities at home, monitoring discipline and managing study time, and maintaining sustainable cooperation with the school. The conclusion of this study shows that the family environment plays a very important role in supporting students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Optimal family support is able to increase students’ learning motivation and academic achievement, while a lack of family involvement results in low motivation and mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teacher strategies in addressing students’ learning discipline problems in the subject of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) in Grade II at SDK Don Bosco 4 Kupang, as well as to identify the impact of implementing these strategies on students’ learning behavior. Learning discipline is an important factor in supporting the success of the learning process, particularly for lower-grade elementary school students who still require intensive guidance. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observations of the learning process, interviews with one Grade II teacher and two students, and documentation in the form of school regulations and learning materials. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that teachers implemented various strategies, including providing role models, establishing and enforcing classroom rules, giving positive reinforcement, and habituating orderly behavior. The implementation of these strategies had a positive impact on improving students’ learning discipline, although some students were still inconsistent in applying them.

Abstract

The development of critical thinking skills is an important aspect of mathematics learning in elementary schools, particularly in helping students understand concepts logically and systematically. However, in practice, mathematics learning is still predominantly teacher-centered, resulting in limited student involvement and underdeveloped critical thinking skills, especially in fraction arithmetic operations. Therefore, a learning approach that connects mathematical concepts to real-life contexts is needed to make learning more meaningful. One approach that can be applied is Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students’ critical thinking skills in fraction arithmetic operations for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental research design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two classes: class VA as the experimental group, which applied the RME approach, and class VB as the control group, which used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through critical thinking skill tests in the form of essay questions administered during the pretest and posttest stages. The data were analyzed using N-Gain analysis, normality tests, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.003 < 0.05, therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach has a significant effect on students’ critical thinking skills in fraction arithmetic operations for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air, Aceh Besar Regency.
