Abstract

The problem in this study is the difficulty students face in understanding mathematical concepts, resulting in incomplete mathematics learning. The objective of this research is to improve the conceptual understanding of mathematics among third-grade students at SDN 1 Bakalan Krapyak through the implementation of a contextual learning model. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 23 third-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests. The results show an improvement in students’ conceptual understanding in each cycle. The average class score increased from 72 in the first cycle to 82 in the second cycle. The percentage of students achieving mastery learning improved from 65.2% in cycle I to 82.6% in cycle II. It is concluded that the contextual learning model successfully enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, having met the success criteria of an average score of ≥ 70. Teachers are encouraged to fully utilize contextual learning not just as an alternative, but as a primary teaching method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying the Pop-Up Book learning media to improve the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 067259 Medan Johor on the topic of spatial geometry. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The results of the study showed a significant improvement in student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the average score of students was 61.4 with 10 students completing the task and 15 students not completing it. In the first cycle, the average score increased to 74.2 with 17 students completing the task and 8 students not completing it. In the second cycle, the average score further increased to 83.6 with 23 students completing the task and 2 students not completing it. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Pop-Up Book learning media is effective in improving student learning outcomes in the topic of spatial geometry.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in grade IV of SD N 060879 Medan Timur, especially in science subjects. This study aims to improve learning outcomes through the integration of the PQ4R learning method (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review). This research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles with the research subjects being 34 grade IV students. The data collection technique is using a test assessment sheet. The results of the study indicate that the PQ4R method has an impact on improving student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the learning outcomes before using PQ4R 38.23% so that based on these results it has not reached completion. During learning with the PQ4R method, the use of cycle I obtained student learning outcomes of 55.8% and in cycle II obtained learning outcomes of 91.17%. Thus, the implementation of the PQ4R method has proven effective in improving learning outcomes in the material of energy transformation.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Kurangnya variasi media pembelajaran yang menarik dan interaktif dalam pembelajaran IPAS (2) Guru belum memanfaatkan ragam media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi secara maksimal (3) Pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru monoton dan rendah nya hasil belajar peserta didik pada pelajaran IPAS (4) Belum optimalnya pemanfaatan teknologi, khususnya game edukasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan, kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan Media Pembelajaran berbasisi game edukasi wordwall. Wordwall adalah bentuk game edukasi yang dapat diakses melalui website. Jenis Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model ADDIE yang memiliki lima tahapan yaitu tahap pertama analisis (analysis),tahap desain (design), tahap ketiga pengembangan (development), tahap keempat implementasi (implementation), dan tahap kelima evaluasi (evaluation). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV Media Pembelajaran berbasisi game edukasi wordwall pada mata pelajaran IPAS Kelas IV SD Negeri 100302 Pargarutan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, angket validasi materi, angket validasi desain media, angket praktikalitas pendidikan, angket peserta didik, dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian ini berupa Media Pembelajaran berbasisi game edukasi wordwall, pada validasi materi dengan nilai presentase 84% masuk dalam kategori “Sangat Layak” sedangkan ahli desain media dengan nilai persentase 89% masuk dalam kategori “Sangat Layak” sehingga bahan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Pada uji kepraktisan diperoleh dari tanggapan guru dan peserta didik melalui angket yang diberikan mendapatkan nilai persentase 94% kategori “Sangat Praktis”., tanggapan peserta didik melalui angket sebesar 94% kategori “Sangat Praktis”. Uji efektivitas melalui pretest dan posttest menunjukkan N-gain rata-rata 64,7%, yang tergolong kategori “efektif”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat baca siswa kelas V UPT SDN 060879 Medan Timur Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025 melalui penerapan platform buku digital BUDI (Buku Digital, Gerakan Literasi Nasional). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket pre-test dan post-test minat baca siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 23 siswa yang menjadi subjek penelitian, sebanyak 15 siswa (65,22%) mengalami peningkatan minat baca setelah menggunakan platform BUDI, sementara 8 siswa (34,78%) menunjukkan hasil yang tetap, dan tidak ada siswa yang mengalami penurunan minat baca. Peningkatan ini terlihat dari indikator seperti meningkatnya frekuensi membaca di luar jam pelajaran, ketertarikan terhadap berbagai jenis bacaan, dan kesediaan untuk berdiskusi mengenai isi bacaan. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan platform BUDI efektif dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa, namun diperlukan strategi yang lebih beragam dan pendekatan personal untuk menjangkau seluruh siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V UPT SDN 065012 Medan Tuntungan melalui model Project Based Learning berbasis video. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari empat pertemuan, dengan subjek 17 siswa. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata nilai dari 60 pada siklus I menjadi 91 pada siklus II. Ketuntasan belajar juga meningkat dari 30% menjadi 94%, mencapai ketuntasan klasikal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model Project Based Learning berbasis video efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan serta menguji validitas e-booklet bernuansa Emotional Spiritual Quotient (ESQ) tentang materi sel untuk peserta didik Fase F. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D dari Thiagarajan, define, design, dan develop, sedangkan tahap disseminate tidak dilakukan dikarenakan keterbatasan waktu dan dana yang dimiliki peneliti. Validasi instrumen meliputi aspek pembelajaran, komunikasi visual, dan rekayasa perangkat lunak, yang dinilai oleh tiga orang validator. Hasil validasi menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan sangat tinggi dengan skor rata-rata 90,82%: aspek pembelajaran 90,74%: komunikasi visual 92,85%: dan rekayasa perangkat lunak 88,88%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa e-booklet yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang tidak hanya memperkuat pemahaman konsep diri, tetapi juga menanamkan nilai-nilai ESQ seperti kesadaran diri, tanggung jawab sosial, dan pengelolaan diri.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' literacy skills in writing poetry through the application of a digital storyboarding technique. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which was conducted in two cycles involving 36 students of class X-2 at SMA Negeri 1 Medan in the 2024/2025 academic year. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The digital storyboarding technique was utilized to assist students in visualizing ideas and emotions through images before expressing them in poetic form. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ poetry writing abilities. In the initial stage, only a small number of students reached the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75. However, by the second cycle, all students (100%) achieved or exceeded the target score. In addition to academic improvement, students demonstrated higher levels of interest, creativity, and engagement during the learning process. The use of digital storyboarding effectively supported students’ imagination and helped them structure poetic lines meaningfully.

Abstract

This research was conducted to enhance the poetry writing abilities of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Medan by integrating audiovisual media into the learning process. The study was initiated due to students’ generally low performance in poetry writing, characterized by limited creativity, weak diction usage, and underdeveloped imagery in their compositions. The methodology used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were gathered through observation sheets and evaluations of students' written poetry. The findings revealed a notable improvement in students' average scores, rising from 55.29 in the pretest to 71.47 in the first cycle, and reaching 80.59 in the second cycle. Moreover, the percentage of students meeting the minimum mastery criteria significantly increased from 32.35% to 94.12%. These results demonstrate that the use of audiovisual media effectively boosts student engagement, fosters creativity, and improves their skills in writing poetry.

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the poetry writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 14 Medan through the implementation of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model. The study was motivated by students' low performance in writing poetry, particularly in diction selection, theme development, and use of figurative language. The research was conducted in two cycles following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through written tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively using descriptive methods. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ poetry writing skills. The class average score increased from 58.89 in the pre-cycle to 73.89 in Cycle I and 83.89 in Cycle II. Mastery learning improved from 8.33% in the pre-cycle to 58.33% in Cycle I, reaching 100% in Cycle II. The application of the TTW model effectively enhanced students’ active participation, boosted their confidence, and fostered critical and creative thinking in poetry writing.
