Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the strategies used by teachers in managing the learning process of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Bimbingan Belajar Widya Wicara. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with the institution and direct observation of classroom activities, the findings show that teachers employ various adaptive strategies such as visual media, concrete and hands-on learning activities, positive reinforcement, individualized approaches, and attention-redirection techniques when children experience tantrums, difficulty focusing, or challenges in emotional regulation. A structured learning environment with minimal distractions, supported by the presence of two teachers in one session, helps create a sense of safety and enhances children’s engagement. Additionally, active communication and collaboration between teachers and parents strengthen the continuity of learning at home and support the monitoring of each child’s development. Overall, the study highlights that the learning strategies implemented at Widya Wicara are flexible, responsive, and child-centered, effectively supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of children with autism.

Abstract

The background that prompted this research was that the IPAS learning process in grade V at Jatipecaron Elementary School was still dominated by conventional methods. The negative impact of this method caused students to become passive and find it difficult to develop ideas. To overcome the problem of low student creativity, the researcher considered it necessary to innovate teaching methods. The Project Based Learning (PjBL) model is an innovative model that places students at the center of learning activities through real projects. The problem formulation in this study is: How effective is project-based learning in increasing student creativity in IPAS subjects in grade V at Jatipecaron State Elementary School? The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in improving student creativity in IPAS subjects in grade V at Jatipecaron State Elementary School, Grobogan Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population and sample in this study were all 32 fifth-grade students at Jatipecaron State Elementary School, using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, interviews, pretest and posttest instruments to measure learning outcomes and creativity, then analyzed using normality tests and paired sample t-tests. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes and creativity after the Project Based Learning model was implemented. The average pretest score was 51.7 with a learning completeness of 19%, while the average posttest score increased to 84.4 with a learning completeness of 81%. The normality test results showed that the data was normally distributed (L₀ = 0.112 < Lₜabel = 0.154). The hypothesis test using a paired sample t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means that there was a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Based on the creativity observation results, 41% of students were in the highly creative category. Based on this study, the suggestion is that the Project Based Learning model can be used as an alternative for teachers in teaching to increase student creativity.

Abstract

A problem faced by early childhood education institutions is the low level of implementation of the read-aloud method as a means of character building in early childhood. Teachers tend to focus on academic skills such as reading and arithmetic, while the instilling of moral and social values is not optimal. This community service activity aims to improve teachers' understanding and skills in implementing the read-aloud method creatively, interactively, and oriented towards strengthening character. The activity was carried out at the Ummu Salamah Kindergarten through stages of socialization, training, direct practice, and evaluation, involving teachers and children as active participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' abilities in expressive reading, selecting stories with moral value, and relating them to children's daily behavior. Children became more focused, enthusiastic, and understood the moral messages from the stories read. This activity proves that read-aloud is effective as a literacy medium as well as a means of instilling the values of honesty, discipline, responsibility, and empathy from an early age. This program is expected to be implemented sustainably by teachers and parents to strengthen children's character through fun and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the differences in science identity among elementary teacher education (PGSD) students from three cohorts—2023, 2024, and 2025—based on the PISA 2025 science literacy framework. A quantitative comparative approach was applied with 159 participants selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The science identity questionnaire consisted of three sub-domains: appreciation of diverse perspectives in scientific inquiry, positive attitudes toward self-identification as part of the scientific community, and awareness and active engagement toward the environment. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test because the data were not normally distributed. The results showed a significant difference in science identity among cohorts (p = 0.013). Post-hoc analysis indicated that students from the 2023 cohort had significantly higher science identity scores than those from the 2025 cohort (p = 0.010), while no significant differences were found between the 2024 cohort and the other two. The findings suggest that students with longer exposure to practical and inquiry-based science learning develop stronger scientific self-efficacy, engagement, and recognition within the science community. Laboratory and inquiry activities provide authentic experiences that foster a sense of belonging and strengthen science identity. Therefore, meaningful scientific experiences—whether through direct or virtual laboratories—are essential in nurturing science identity among pre-service elementary teachers. These results emphasize the need for early integration of experimental and investigative learning to prepare scientifically literate and confident future educators.
