Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs for the development of contextual teaching materials in Indonesian language subjects at SD Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun. The background problem is the low productive writing skills (descriptive and procedural texts) of students, triggered by generic teaching materials, thus failing to build connections between linguistic concepts and students' real-life experiences. This descriptive qualitative research involved 4 classroom teachers and 5 student representatives from grades IV and V. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation of learning activities, and literature study. The results of the study found a significant contextual gap, where students experienced an ideational block due to the lack of local content and environment-based Modeling, while teachers struggled to implement Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) without explicit instructional guidelines. In conclusion, there is a high urgency to develop a structured Contextual Teaching and Learning Module based on local content as an intervention solution to bridge the contextual gap, thereby improving students' authentic writing skills and critical thinking abilities. Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ difficulties in distinguishing between arithmetic and geometric sequences, which are not only caused by limited computational skills but also by weak conceptual understanding of numerical patterns. Many students tend to memorize formulas without truly understanding the meaning of constant differences and constant ratios, leading to errors when identifying sequence types in various problem formats. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through teacher interviews and classroom observations at SMAS YPK Medan. The findings reveal that strengthening basic concepts through real-life contexts, combined with relevant and structured practice problems, significantly improves students’ ability to recognize and differentiate arithmetic and geometric patterns. These results emphasize that effective mathematics learning should focus on developing conceptual understanding and reflective thinking skills rather than merely procedural mastery.

Abstract

Primary education policy in Indonesia continues to shift in response to modernization, decentralization, and the need to improve learning quality. This literature review examines the development of basic education management policies, their implementation in schools, and the major obstacles encountered, including disparities in resources, weak governance, and limited teacher competencies. Findings show that although policy transformations have expanded school autonomy and improved curriculum standards, unequal implementation remains a critical challenge. This article concludes by offering recommendations to strengthen governance, increase teacher capacity, and improve policy alignment across government levels.

Abstract

Education today faces a humanitarian crisis caused by an excessive focus on cognitive achievement while neglecting affective and spiritual dimensions. This condition urges a re-examination of educational epistemology toward a more humanistic and transcendental foundation. This study aims to explore the concept of “love as the epistemology of education” through a library research approach to construct the theoretical basis for a Love-Based Curriculum (LBC). Data were collected from philosophical and pedagogical works by scholars such as Nel Noddings, Syed M. Naquib al-Attas, and Parker J. Palmer. The findings reveal that love can serve as an epistemological foundation for developing a curriculum that harmonizes reason, morality, and spirituality. Love is not merely a moral value but also a way of knowing that nurtures empathy, responsibility, and human awareness. The LBC presents a new paradigm relevant to the challenges of modern and digital education, where technological advancement often distances humans from compassion and moral values. This study contributes to enriching the philosophical discourse of education and offers a conceptual framework for building an education system grounded in love, care, and universal humanity.

Abstract

Student active learning is all forms of activities carried out by students during the learning process involving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The active learning of these students will affect the learning outcomes to be achieved. However, the active learning of students, in general, is still low. Therefore, the researcher chose the PBL learning model to overcome this problem, which is based on the literature studies that have been conducted. In addition to students getting hands-on experience, teachers can also find out students' level of active learning. The PBL learning model aims to increase student learning activity. The formulation of the problem in this study, in general, is how to increase students' active learning through the PBL model in elementary schools, while the purpose of this research is to describe the increase in student learning activeness through the PBL model in elementary schools. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 096 Sarijadi Selatan Bandung City using Classroom Action Research (PTK), which comprised 68% of the first cycle and 96% of the second cycle; there was an increase involving fourth-grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques used are observation and questionnaires. Based on the data obtained and the findings, it was concluded that elementary school students learning activeness increased after learning using the PBL model

Abstract

Holistic education is an approach that views learners as whole human beings who possess physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions. This study aims to explore educational efforts needed to shape a complete human being through character strengthening, social-emotional development, intellectual competence, and spiritual sensitivity. Using the literature review method, the study concludes that holistic education requires integrated pedagogical strategies that involve schools, families, and communities. Its implementation improves student well-being, strengthens identity, and prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Educators' communication skills are a crucial foundation in creating an effective, interactive, and student-centered learning process. In the 21st-century education era, teachers are required not only to master the learning material but also to communicate clearly, empathetically, and adaptively to students' needs. This literature review article discusses the essence of teachers' communication skills, their urgency in the learning process, and how effective communication can enhance motivation, concept understanding, and positive relationships between teachers and students. The review results show that good educator communication is directly related to increased student engagement, learning outcomes, and the creation of a conducive classroom environment. The practical implications of this study provide recommendations for educators to continuously develop verbal and nonverbal communication skills through professional training and reflection on teaching practices.

Abstract

This literature review aims to synthesize current evidence regarding the effects of balance training on body stability in volleyball athletes. A systematic search was conducted using academic databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar to identify studies published between 2000 and 2024 related to balance training, postural control, and performance in volleyball. The reviewed studies consistently demonstrate that balance training significantly improves static and dynamic stability, neuromuscular coordination, and injury prevention. The analysis highlights that incorporating balance exercises into volleyball training programs enhances athletes’ ability to maintain postural control during dynamic actions such as jumping, landing, and rapid directional changes. Despite these benefits, limited literature specifically examines volleyball populations, suggesting a need for more sport-specific investigations. Overall, evidence supports the inclusion of structured balance training as a vital component of volleyball conditioning to enhancestability and minimize injury risks Furthermore, future research should focus on identifying the optimal duration, intensity, and type of balance exercises that yield the greatest improvements in volleyball-specific performance. Comparative studies between beginner, intermediate, and elite athletes would provide valuable insights into how training adaptations differ across skill levels. Additionally, integrating balance training with other conditioning elements such as strength, agility, and plyometric training could produce a more comprehensive understanding of its synergistic effects on athletic performance. These findings would contribute to the development of evidence-based training protocols aimed at maximizing performance outcomes and reducing injury incidence among volleyball players.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas dinamika kepribadian dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dengan mengintegrasikan teori-teori kepribadian dari perspektif psikologi umum dan Islam. Kepribadian merupakan organisasi dinamis yang mempengaruhi bagaimana peserta didik menerima dan mengaplikasikan nilai-nilai keislaman. Pembahasan meliputi dinamika kepribadian dalam pembelajaran PAI yang mencakup faktor internal dan eksternal, teori-teori kepribadian umum seperti psikoanalisis, behavioristik, humanistik, kognitif- sosial, dan trait, serta teori kepribadian dalam perspektif Islam yang menekankan dimensi jasadiyah, nafsiyah, ruhiyah, dan aqliyah. Konsep fitrah dan pembentukan akhlak menjadi fokus utama dalam pengembangan kepribadian Islami. Integrasi teori kepribadian Barat dengan perspektif Islam menghasilkan pendekatan komprehensif dalam pembelajaran PAI. Implikasi praktis mencakup strategi pembelajaran diferensiatif, pendekatan holistik, pembelajaran aktif-kontekstual, penciptaan lingkungan Islami, dan evaluasi komprehensif. Makalah ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemahaman mendalam tentang teori kepribadian sangat penting bagi pendidik PAI untuk merancang strategi pembelajaran yang efektif sesuai karakteristik peserta didik dan mengembangkan kepribadian Muslim yang beriman, bertakwa, dan berakhlak mulia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji optimalisasi pemanfaatan Museum Sultan Suriansyah sebagai sumber belajar dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMK Negeri 4 Banjarmasin. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari masih minimnya penggunaan museum sebagai media pendidikan, padahal museum menyediakan sumber sejarah autentik yang berpotensi meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap sejarah lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk pemanfaatan museum dalam pembelajaran sejarah serta mengidentifikasi berbagai kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam mengoptimalkan pembelajaran berbasis museum. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Museum Sultan Suriansyah mampu menjadi media pembelajaran yang efektif karena dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar, menghadirkan pengalaman belajar langsung, serta memperkuat pemahaman siswa mengenai sejarah dan budaya Kesultanan Banjar. Meskipun demikian, optimalisasi pemanfaatannya masih menghadapi sejumlah kendala, antara lain keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran, minimnya koordinasi antara sekolah dan pihak museum, serta belum tersedianya program pembelajaran museum yang bersifat rutin dan terintegrasi dengan kurikulum sekolah. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya perencanaan pembelajaran yang sistematis, pengembangan modul museum, serta penguatan kerja sama institusional sebagai upaya optimalisasi pemanfaatan museum dalam pembelajaran sejarah.
