Abstract

Breast milk is the best source of nutrients that can improve the health of mothers and children. Breastfeeding is very important, especially in the early period of life, therefore it is enough for babies to be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months without adding and/or replacing with other foods or drinks. Breastfeeding immediately after delivery also helps uterine contractions thereby reducing maternal blood loss during the puerperium. The research used was a quasi-experimental (Quast Experiment) with a sample of 36 postpartum mothers. The sample size was 18 for each control and intervention group. Data analysis was carried out by univariate and bivariate using Shapiro-Wilk uni normality test the validity of the Mann-Whitney U test. Giving katuk leaves for 5 days in the intervention group and the control group. showed that of the 36 out of the total number of postpartum mothers who experienced a lot of breast milk production, 19 people with a presentation of 52.8% of the 36 mothers. From the results of statistical tests on giving katuk leaves, P value = 0.000 < 0.05, age P value was obtained 0.784> 0.05 and parity was obtained P value 0.597> 0.05, which means that both cannot affect breast milk production in postpartum mothers. . In dietary restrictions, the P value = 0.000 <0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the average giving of katuk leaves and dietary restrictions, which means that both can affect the increase in breast milk production in postpartum mothers Keywored : katuk leaves, milk production, postpartum.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which red blood cells (erythrocytes ) decrease or decrease in hemoglobin, so that the oxygen-carrying capacity for the organ needs in the mother and fetus is reduced. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of dragon fruit juice on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women with anemia. The design of this study is an experimental study with a one grup pre test-post test. Design approach with a population of 43 pregnant women with anemia, sampels were taken using the total sampiling technique. The independent variable in this study was the administration of dragon fruit juice. The dependent variable was the change in HB levels in pregnant women with anemia. Collecting data using primary data using observation sheets measuring HB levels before and after examination. Research analysis using t-test. The results showed that the mother’s Hb level before consuming drahon fruit juice was obtained Mean 9.28 gr/dl, Median 9.50 gr/dl, mode 10 gr/dl and SD 7.7 gr/dl. Mother’s Hb level after consuming dragon fruit juice obtained Mean 10.4 gr/dl, Median 10.6 gr/dl, Mode 11 gr/dl and SD 8 gr/dl. The results of the t-tes with a significance level α=0,05 obtained p_value = 0,000 (p_value < α (0,05)) so it was concluded thet there was an effect of giving dragon fruit juice on increasing Hb levels of pregnant women. Abstract

Background Pregnant women are a group of people prone to anemia which is characterized by a decrease in hemoglobin levels, one of the causes of which is iron deficiency in the body. Low absorption of iron in the body can be caused by poor diet, frequency of meals, and amount and type of food consumed. Adequate consumption of animal and plant foods can increase iron intake in the body. One chicken egg contains 6.3 mg of iron in the yolk and 0.2 mg in the egg white. This study aims to determine differences in hemoglobin levels in third-trimester pregnant women before and after consuming boiled chicken eggs. Methods The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental design method with a one-group pretest post-test design approach. The results showed that the average hemoglobin level before consuming boiled chicken eggs was around 11.5 g/dL and the hemoglobin level after finishing boiled chicken eggs was 12.7 g/dL and based on the t-test results, the p-value < 0.001 means differences in hemoglobin levels before and after consuming boiled domestic chicken eggs in third-trimester pregnant women. Keywords: Domestic chicken egg, hemoglobin, pregnant women.

This research type is quantitative with a cross-sectional survey design. The population of this study was all students in VII and VIII grades who have menstruated and are willing to be respondents at Middle School 3 Trimurjo of Central Lampung Regency amounting to 52 respondents. This research sample was all students of VII and VIII grades who are present during the research implementation. The analysis used was the chi-square test. The research result showed that there was a correlation between reproductive health knowledge with the hygiene behavior of adolescent females when menstruation at the Middle School 3 Trimurjo of Central Lampung Regency in 2021 with a p-value: of 0.008 and OR 9.0. As a suggestion, the health workers' role needs to be improved in providing education through scheduled and on going counseling to adolescents in educational institutions.
