Abstract

The album cover of a song has an important role in attracting public interest in the song and also becomes an intermediary medium in conveying messages from musicians to their fans. The focus of this research is the interpretation of the cover of the single 'Pelangi Cinta' by Diskoria with Afifah Yusuf, which seems controversial if interpreted simply. The results of this research show that a music cover, in fact, can represent the intention or message that the musician wants to convey. The cover of Diskoria's non-album single with Afifah Yusuf is successful in conveying a strong feminine message without discrediting women. This research method uses descriptive qualitative method and uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The purpose of this research is to describe the relationship between signs and meanings of women's courage in expressing their sexuality through the visual design of the cover of Diskoria's non-album single with Afifah Yusuf. Abstract

The power of social media to influence society is based exclusively on its social aspect: this means the interaction and participation that can be achieved through campaigns. Campaigns are basically the delivery of messages from the sender to the audience. The aim of this research is to explain the use of social media to gain mass/public support specifically for Anies Baswedan in the scope of social media Twitter. The research is qualitative, the type of data is secondary, explained about Twitter and Litelatue. Data collection technique; literature studies, data analysis techniques; descriptive analysis technique - depicting/describing results/phenomena. Through social media, political messages are faster and easier to be received by the public and information can be accessed easily. We will examine further how Anies utilizes the social media Twitter so that he can gain mass support through political communication using the social media Twitter.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the female audience's reception of the existence of male beauty influencers in the TikTok application. The aspect of beauty in Indonesia has always been synonymous with women, but in its development, male beauty influencers have emerged who have similar goals, namely educating women and men regarding aspects of beauty. The research used qualitative methods with in-depth interviews and observation instruments. The six informants consisted of women who often watch beauty content and are active in the TikTok application. Data analysis used Stuart Hall's reception analysis theory. The results of the study show that the majority of informants are in the negotiated position category, which is accepting and agreeing with the information conveyed by male beauty influencers, but there are some things that are still being considered.

Abstract

Digitization brings about fundamental changes in almost every aspect of life, including marketing communication strategies. PT. Redo Marketing Indonesia, a distributor of beauty clinic equipment, has shifted its marketing strategy from canvassing to digital marketing through the social media platform Instagram. This research aims to examine the effectiveness and the impact of this change on the marketing communication process in the company, and used descriptive qualitative data analysis methods. The data was collected through interviews to several marketing staf. The research results indicate that digital marketing through Instagram is more financially efficient and enables instant communication with a wider target audience, thus accelerating the spread of information. However, on the flip side, canvassing methods remain effective for very specific and local target markets. PT. Redo Marketing Indonesia's efforts to optimize Instagram have built a strong brand image and increased customers interaction. Keywords: Brand Image, Canvassing, Marketing Communication.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the digitalization communication strategy of Ganjar Pranowo as the 2024 presidential candidate during the campaign. The focus is on utilizing social media as a political tool to increase Ganjar Pranowo's electability as a presidential candidate. This research was carried out with a qualitative approach, because this qualitative research leads to the interpretation of the phenomena that occur, namely the researcher as the key instrument. Content analysis techniques were applied in this research to understand each of Ganjar Pranowo's digitalization communication strategies in the form of uploading content on social media. The data collection technique uses primary data collected through observation on social media, and secondary data obtained through documentation. The research results show that Ganjar Pranowo is taking advantage of digitalization to increase his electability in the 2024 presidential election. With content that is widely distributed on social media, Ganjar is trying to build strong communication with the public. However, until the end of the campaign, Ganjar was unable to increase his eligibility because the public stigma attached to him caused their trust to slowly recede in the figure of Ganjar who was proposed as a presidential candidate in 2024.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of AI-based chatbot applications in Indonesia raises concerns about personal data preservation. This qualitative case study investigated the issue through in-depth interviews with chatbot users, developers, and government officials/regulators. This study's findings revealed a gap in user awareness of privacy policies and concerns about data misuse. Developers face challenges balancing personalization with privacy, while regulators acknowledge the need to continuously adapt the legal framework. The study recommends enhancing transparency, user empowerment, and regulatory oversight to ensure the responsible and ethical use of personal data in chatbot interactions.

Abstract

Environmental and communication issues are interrelated and have a significant impact on each other. Communication plays an important role in how we understand, convey and respond to environmental issues. Remembering the risks that a disaster can cause not only in the form of property loss, but also environmental damage and loss of life. The main aim of risk communication is to increase individual or community understanding, awareness and preparation of existing risks. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of risk communication and community attitudes towards disaster mitigation in Pekanbaru City. This research is quantitative research involving 375 respondents. The results of this research show that the partial test results for the risk communication variable on disaster mitigation are sig. 0.011 < 0.05, where the risk communication variable influences disaster mitigation. In the partial test the community attitude variable does not influence disaster mitigation, this is because the partial test result on this variable is sig. 0.133 > sig.0.05. Based on the results of the simultaneous test or F test which was carried out, the influence between the independent variables simultaneously and the dependent variable was 3.292, where the value in the F test was greater than the t table test, namely 0.098. Abstract

Media serves as both a challenge and an essential tool for branding and information management for companies, institutions, and individuals. For public relations professionals, social media can become a starting point for a crisis if not effectively managed. This study explores the role of social media in crisis management, particularly regarding the impact of apologies on public sentiment post-crisis. Crises can arise unexpectedly and require management that is prepared to address issues that attract public attention. PT Indonesia Bakery Family (IBF) faced a crisis when its product, Roti Aoka, was accused of containing sodium dehydroacetate, a substance commonly used in cosmetics. This research analyzes the steps taken by PR IBF in addressing this crisis through three stages of crisis management: pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis.

Abstract

Jakarta Library, as a strategic public institution in supporting literacy and education, faces significant challenges in the digital era, especially with the decline in the number of visitors due to easy access to digital resources. To address this, the library launched the Night at The Library (NATL) program, an innovative initiative aimed at attracting visitors, especially the younger generation. NATL is designed to transform the image of the library into a dynamic and multifunctional public space, by offering various interactive activities outside of regular operating hours, such as literacy discussions and art performances. Through a friendly, modern approach, NATL seeks to revive public interest in libraries and revive a culture of literacy. This study uses a qualitative approach with a constructivism paradigm and Peter K. Pringle's program management theory. The results show that the application of Pringle's theory in the planning, production, execution, and evaluation of the NATL program plays an important role in the success of the event. Planning includes strategies for selecting popular speakers, promotion through social media, and budget collaboration. NATL production adheres to structured management principles, involving the management of human and technical resources. Program execution ensures the optimization of library facilities, including accessibility for visitors with disabilities. The program evaluation recommended increasing the duration of book talk sessions, providing special tickets for library members, and providing rewards for active visitors. Overall, the NATL program has proven effective in attracting visitors, creating interactive experiences, and strengthening the role of libraries as centers of literacy and learning amidst the development of digital technology. Abstract

The development of communication and information technology in this digital era has influenced various aspects of human life, especially in obtaining information. Various telecommunications innovations are increasing, especially as internet access and social media are available. One of the social media platforms that is popular among Indonesian people, especially the younger generation and teenagers, is Instagram. Instagram makes it easy for its users to interact with each other and share information, including da'wah information. As is done by the Remisya community, which uses Instagram as a means to spread da'wah information. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the process of diffusion of digital da'wah innovations in the Remisya community in persuading teenagers on Instagram. This research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach and a constructivist paradigm. Meanwhile, this research data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, the diffusion of innovation theory introduced by Everett M. Rogers is used as an analytical tool to understand how Instagram was adopted by the Remisya community in spreading da'wah information. The results of this research show that the process of diffusion of digital da'wah innovation in the Remisya community is able to persuade teenagers to take part in their da'wah program. By paying attention to several elements of innovation diffusion and the innovation decision-making process which involves several stages, including the ability of the Remisya community to adopt and adapt to digital technology for da'wah purposes.
