Abstract

This systematic literature review discusses the optimisation of steam flooding as one of the important enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods for heavy oil production. Steam flooding is proven to reduce oil viscosity, increase fluid mobility, and improve sweep efficiency. However, the main challenges include high steam-oil ratio (SOR), large energy requirements, reservoir heterogeneity, and operational costs. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 5 selected journals published in 2023-2025, this study identifies optimisation strategies such as injection pattern design, steam quality control, use of supporting technologies such as horizontal wells and solvent injection, and renewable energy integration. The results show that technical optimisation includes injection pattern design, steam rate and quality control, well configuration (including the use of horizontal wells), and remedial stimulation through acidising. On the economic side, the focus was on reducing Capex and Opex, increasing Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and oil price sensitivity. In addition, innovation in the form of Solar Enhanced Oil Recovery (S-EOR) offers a sustainable solution in reducing energy costs and reducing carbon emissions.

Abstract

Raw material inventory is an important factor that influences company profits. CV. XYZ is a company engaged in the production of precast concrete. This company has not implemented special methods in planning and scheduling production. So far, companies have only relied on predictions of consumer needs without proper analysis, so they often experience excesses or shortages of raw materials. This research aims to determine the optimal amount of raw material inventory using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method. Data collection techniques include interviews, literature study, observations and observations. Calculations are carried out using the lot sizing method to determine the quantity and frequency of orders as well as total inventory costs. The analysis results show that the MRP method using the Periodic Order Quantity (POQ) technique produces lower total costs compared to Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). By applying the MRP method with the POQ technique, companies can optimize raw material inventory and minimize total inventory costs

Abstract

Cold supply chains are critical for maintaining quality and quantity of fresh fruit commodities under seasonal variability, energy, and cost constraints. This study aims to (1) identify the most efficient vehicle routing algorithm to minimize fleet size and distance; (2) evaluate delivery performance through simulation under four scenarios (basic, adaptive, collaborative, technological); and (3) determine effective logistics risk management strategies. A spatial-variation heuristic was applied for routing, dynamic simulation for scenario analysis, and qualitative methods for risk strategies. Results show the sweep heuristic algorithm as most efficient, reducing shipping costs and distances by 33.02%, maximum travel time by 41.7%, and energy use by 29.49%. Scenario analysis identifies the technological scenario integrating AI, blockchain, and IoT as most optimal, ensuring cost-efficiency, truck utilization, fulfillment rate, minimal product loss, and flexibility. Recommended risk strategies include predictive systems, hybrid transportation, joint capacity investments, and adaptive refrigeration to strengthen cold chain resilience.

Abstract

Conventional Bill Of Quantity (BOQ) often faces inaccuracies in estimating structural work volumes due to limited detail and potential human error. This study aims to analyze the accuracy of quantity take off (QTO) using Building Information Modeling (BIM) through Autodesk Revit 2024 in the RSUD Dr. Iskak Tulungagung project. Research data included working drawings (shop drawings) and BOQ, which were modeled in 3D to generate structural work volumes from foundation to roof levels. The analysis revealed notable differences between the conventional method and Revit, with concrete volumes differing by 71.31 m3 or 9.46%, and reinforcement volumes differing by 267.981 kg or 4.51%. These findings confirm that Revit provides more detailed and consistent volume estimations, thereby enhancing project planning reliability while reducing manual calculation error.

Abstract

This paper addresses a common gap in pump transmission design that relies on “allowable stress + safety factor.” This paper redesign a complete shaft key coupling bearing train of a 5.5 kW/1450 rpm centrifugal pump using a reliability based framework. A field case uses nameplate data and dimensional measurements. Methods include ASME/DE von Mises formulation for combined bending torsion, stress concentration factors for keyseat/fillet, consistent torque path sizing of key and flange coupling, and bearing L10 life per ISO 281. All calculations use SI units with ±5–10% uncertainty propagation. Results show an S40C shaft ds≈33.3 mm, a 10×8×15 mm key, a flange coupling passing shear/crushing checks, and an angular contact bearing meeting a 20–40 kh life target, sensitivity highlights Kt and equivalent bearing load as dominant drivers. This paper recommend as a design for reliability guide for maintenance friendly pump trains in SME/utility settings, complemented by targeted vibration tests.

Abstract

This study analyzes the physiological and mental workload of students in a simulated work environment at the Ergonomics Laboratory using the Macroergonomics Analysis of Structure (MAS) approach. The simulation exposed 21 participants to a combination of grinding machine noise (90 dB) and low lighting (10 Lux) for 40 minutes. The results indicate that the simulated work environment significantly increased physiological workload, evidenced by an increase in pulse rate where 38% of participants exhibited a %CVL above 15% (category "Improvement Required") and two participants even reached the "Heavy" category (>30%). Mentally, 85.7% of participants reported a high to very high workload based on NASA-TLX measurements. MAS analysis identified systemic s between the technological, physical environment, and personnel subsystems as the root cause of the problem. This study recommends improvements, including environmental modifications, task design adjustments, and the implementation of integrated OSH policies to create an ergonomic, healthy, and sustainable work system.
