This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out using the Miles and Huberman models. In testing the validity of the data, researchers used triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that the communication patterns used by teachers and students in fostering the discipline of memorizing the Qur'an TPQ Al-Mubarok were circular, wheel, and star communication patterns. Abstract

Social media intensity is one of the causes of consumerism. This research will conduct the effect  of social media intensity on consumerism, with Gaya Berkendara Youtube channel as the research  subject. Gaya Berkendara Youtube channel itself is a channel focusing on the cycling hobby. This  research will use a positivist paradigm with an explanative quantitative methodology to test the influence  of the intensity of watching Gaya Berkendara Youtube channel on consumerism habits. The population  of this research itself is 39.100 subscribers, so the sample in this research is 109 respondents chosen with  a convenience sampling method. The respondents are those who know about the Gaya Berkendara  Youtube channel and are part of subscribers. All of the data that has been gathered are tested using  simple linear regressions. The result is indicating that the intensity of watching Gaya Berkendara Youtube  channel is affecting the subscribers' consumerism habits. This research is based on the uses and  gratification theory to analyze the effect of media consumption, as individuals themselves have full control  over how they use their media. However, this research focus is on the intensity of media consumption  without any deep consideration of social media influencers. Any suggestion for future research is to  include social media influencers as a variable to know its effect separately.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth on the decision to watch the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. The study aims to determine whether Electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM) has an impact on the decision to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home, as assessed through three dimensions of Electronic Word of Mouth: Intensity (X1), Valence of Opinion (X2), and Content (X3), along with the purchasing decision as the dependent variable (Y). An explanatory quantitative method was employed in this study, with data collected through an online questionnaire, online comments, or reviews about the film Spider-Man: No Way Home on social media. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling, and multiple linear regression analysis was applied for data analysis. The results indicate that the Theory of Planned Behavior can explain the decision to watch the movie made by the respondents. Furthermore, the dimensions of Intensity (X1), Valence of Opinion (X2), and Content (X3) collectively contribute to 46.5% of the variance in the purchasing decision variable (Y). Intensity (X1) and Content (X3) are dimensions of the independent variables that significantly influence, while the Valence of Opinion dimension (X2) does not significantly affect the decision to watch.

Abstract

Bong Joon-ho is a South Korean film director and the last three film he directed were Snowpiercer, Okja and Parasite. Those films had the same theme which is social class inequality in the capitalist system. Researcher used Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis to find out the representation of the lower class in the three films and then used Michel Foucault's subject position theory to find the shifting position of lower- class subjects in three Bong Joon-Ho films. The result, this study found out that there were 4 shifts in the positioning of lower class subjects represented in those three films. In these films, capitalists are portrayed as the winning party but the way Bong Joon-ho positions the relationship between the lower class and the upper class was different. In these films, Bong Joon-ho conveys his thoughts and concern about the impact of the capitalist system to the society. Through his last film Parasite, Bong Joon-ho wanted to show that both the lower class and the upper class could become a victim in the capitalist system. These three films show that there is no alternative to the capitalist system and that in the end people just have to respect each another.

Abstract

PT. KCIC's Public Relations has completed the socialization to the land excavation residents with the hope that the residents would be informed, understand, and support the development of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train. However, in reality, the land excavation residents staged a protest in front of the Istana Merdeka building.. In this research, the author employs a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative comparative approach. The research findings indicate that PT. KCIC used different communication strategies in the socialization of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train construction before and after the protest. In the pre-protest communication planning, PT. KCIC focused solely on the company's objectives without understanding the community's conditions. The residents' protest significantly influenced PT. KCIC's choice and determination of communication strategies. After the protest, PT. KCIC began adopting various approaches towards the residents, wrapped in numerous intensive activities and interactions between the residents and PT. KCIC. The approaches employed by PT. KCIC's Public Relations post-protest included educational approaches, non-formal external approaches, and persuasive communication approaches conducted directly by PT. KCIC's Public Relations. PT. KCIC strives to be cooperative and offer solutions to address any community concerns related to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train construction. This effort aims to establish a positive relationship between PT. KCIC and the land excavation residents.

Abstract

The mass media plays an important role in election agenda setting, where they determine the issues that are considered important and discussed by the public. This research aims to analyze how the political economy of the media influences the election agenda setting in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with case studies in national mass media during the 2024 Presidential Election campaign. Data was collected through media content analysis and interviews with sources from mass media, academics and social movement activists. The research results show that the political economy of the media has a significant influence on the election agenda setting in Indonesia. The mass media tends to give a larger share of news to candidates and political parties with strong economic and political power. This research also found that the mass media often ignores issues that are important to society at large, such as poverty, social inequality and environmental damage. This happens because the mass media is more interested in reporting sensational issues and attracting public attention. This research recommends the need for stricter media regulations to prevent media bias in election agenda setting. The public also needs to increase media literacy so that they are not easily influenced by media framing.
