Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Bitcoin price spillover volatility on Altcoin prices (Ethereum, Tether, Binance Coin) and the price of the S&P 500 Index. The data used is weekly data with a research period from January 2018 to December 2022. The analysis used in this study is the Exponential Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (EGARCH) model. The results show a volatility spillover effect between Bitcoin and Binance Coin with more positive shocks than adverse shocks in Bitcoin price volatility on Binance Coin price. Meanwhile, the spillover volatility between Bitcoin and Ethereum, Tether, and the S&P 500 Index cannot be known because the price data is homoscedastic, so it cannot be continued with EGARCH modelling because the data needs to meet the modelling requirements.

Abstract

Like many African states, Nigeria has hitherto been caught in the web of pervasive acts of grand and petty corruption. The pervasive nature of political and bureaucratic corruption in Nigeria has undeniably impoverished her economy and, as such, warranted the establishment of the EFCC and ICPC. However, anti-corruption agencies have not been able to control corruption to a minimum, as Nigeria remains poorly ranked in the global corruption index. This research takes on a critical and comparative lens to understand the nature of class politics in the fight against corruption, to examine the level of high-profile prosecutions, to identify irregularities in the institutions of law enforcement, and to consider the level of transparency and accountability for recovered loot and confiscated properties. The study finds, among other things, that powerful elites have high-jacked anti-corruption fights of the EFCC and ICPC, with low-profile convictions in Nigeria, and public accountability and transparency regarding recovered loot is almost nonexistent. The Elite Capture paradigm is employed as a theoretical guide in its narrative.

Abstract

This research describes the prophet's style learning method and prophetic learning in English Language Teaching (ELT). This research is a library research. The researcher uses sources from books and national journals. The analysis shows that in Indonesia, teaching English is a lifelong endeavor, starting from elementary school and continuing through university. The Prophet Muhammad SAW is a role model for Muslims, as he pioneered education and developed learning models applicable in various contexts, including English study. Teachers/lecturers should prioritize sincerity, patience, and honesty in the classroom to create strong relationships with students and maintain a strong connection with Allah SWT. Prophet Muhammad is a Muslim trendsetter, demonstrating cognitive and affective learning methods. To incorporate prophetic learning into English teaching, they can use prophetic learning strategies such as 1) teacher as a model, 2) stimulus-response/questioning, 3) storytelling, 4) analogy/logical order, 5) direct practice, 6) applied materials, 7) offering advice, 8) closing statement. Prophets possess virtuous qualities such as honesty, trust, communication, and intelligence. Besides, teachers/lecturers should give examples, play the role of guides, and support students in learning progress. Teachers/lecturers should also be able to create curiosity and enthusiasm about the next meeting and be prepared to answer questions and provide answers. In conclusion, prophetic learning is a crucial aspect of a student's life, and educators should emulate the learning methods to ensure their students are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in their studies.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of earnings management, working capital, financial distress, and inflation on the financial performance of Consumer Noncyclical sector companies, with a specific focus on the food and beverage industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) from 2020 to 2022. Utilizing a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression analysis, the study analyses panel data from 38 selected companies to explore the relationships between these variables and Return on Assets (ROA). The findings reveal that earnings management significantly and positively influences ROA while working capital exhibits no significant impact. Financial distress emerges as a crucial factor positively affecting financial performance, while inflation shows no significant influence on ROA. The overall model explains 43.1% of the variation in ROA, providing nuanced insights into financial management practices. This study contributes valuable insights to financial management literature, guiding practitioners and policymakers in optimizing these determinants for enhanced financial outcomes in the food and beverage sector.

Abstract

Apart from being a place of collective worship, mosques can also be a potential place of Qur'an education for Muslims. However, this context has not been comprehensively discussed in previous studies. This study not only aims to complement the shortcomings of previous studies but also focuses on the question of the function and potential of the mosque as a place of Qur'an education for Muslims. To answer this question, this study chose to use a descriptive qualitative approach by conducting direct and structured observations and interviews with informants. The findings in this study show two important contexts regarding the function and potential of the mosque as a place of Qur'an education for Muslims. First, the management of mosque space can be a potential place in conducting Qur'an education for Muslims as has been done at the Baiturrahmah Mosque. Second, good management of the Qur'an education program can increase interest and shape Muslims to be more active and participatory as happened at the Baiturrahmah Mosque. From these two important findings, it can be reflected that the mosque, apart from functioning as a space for collective worship, can also be a potential place to conduct effective and efficient Qur'an education.

Abstract

Character education is important in strengthening the national spirit (nationalism) of Santri in pesantren. However, studies that discuss character education only focus on the conceptual level or understanding. Hence, the form of application and implications of character education in increasing the spirit of nationalism among Indonesian Santri tend to be neglected. By focusing on the form and implications of the implementation of character education among Indonesian Santri, this study chose to use a descriptive qualitative approach based on observation, documentation, and interviews with coaches and Santri. The findings in this study successfully revealed that character education implemented by training students to use the Indonesian language properly, familiarizing students with Indonesian products, and involving students in reflection and appreciation activities on the struggle of heroes not only succeeded in increasing the spirit of nationalism or nationalism but also fostered empathy for differences and improved the academic competence of students. This study recommends future research to explore the effectiveness of Indonesian character education strategies in enhancing the spirit of nationalism and implementing the program in formal and non-formal education environments.

Gender equality between men and women has been attained in plenty of countries during the past few centuries as the battle for women’s rights has progressed. This research concentrates on the female characters, specifically Draupadi and Amba. The objective of this research is to discover how female characters fight for equality in Divakaruni’s The Palace of Illusions. Meanwhile, Amba decides to utilize her power, gain advantage of male strength, and take responsibility to fulfill her own needs.
