Abstract

The existence of Wayang Kulit is a traditional Javanese art in particular, which is closely related to the levels of human life or life cycle. Humans in their lives can be bound by norms or value systems adopted by their people. The norms that still apply in Javanese society include ruwatan ceremonies that contain elements of human salvation or cleansing from existing sins and calamities. Some people who belong to sukerta (dirty, sinful) according to Javanese beliefs must be renewed. Because if it is not renewed it will be the prey of Batara Kala. So through ruwatan by performing wayang kulit, the Murwakala story and the reading of ruwatan mantras, the Javanese people believe that they will not be afraid and unlucky in their future lives.

Abstract

Before the birth of Buddhism, Indian society was familiar with various beliefs which were characterized by the ascetic tradition, the rites of the Brahmins, the religion of the Upanisads, and the strong ascetic traditions of the Jainas. Buddhist philosophy was born from the teachings of Buddha Gautama, obtained from the results of his enlightenment. The Buddha guided his followers to arrive at the Arahant. Buddhism is divided into two major schools, Hinay?na and Mah?y?na. Ethics or morality in Buddhism can be found in three sentences, such as avoiding bad deeds, adding to good deeds, and cleansing the heart, all of which are summarized in the Pancasila Buddha and Pancadhamma. The main teachings of the Buddha are recorded in the Tripitaka. Between philosophy, religion and ethics in Buddhism has a very close relationship in the goal of achieving liberation, because Buddhism does not separate knowledge from behavior, theory and practice.

Abstract

Humans are God's creatures called the most perfect creatures. This is because humans have the provision of life that is not possessed by other creatures, namely the ability to think and reason. This ability, makes humans always try to achieve a more established life physically and spiritually, both by making innovations to facilitate each of his life activities or by exploring the values contained in his life in order to better interpret life and find the essence of life itself. One of the things that has always been a topic of discussion in order to explore the values contained in human life is to look for the meaning of what and who a person is as a whole and who human really is. By interpreting this, it is hoped that humans themselves can easily make themselves practical decisions in carrying out life, taking meaning from every event that occurs in life and determining the direction and purpose of life. Abstract

Humans are one of the tangible proofs of existence in the universe whose life holds many mysteries that are  very interesting objects of curiosity. Human life which is a perfect relation   of two dimensions of life, is called sekala or material world and niskala or transcendent world becomes a space of inquiry to create a balanced life physically and spiritually. The many problems experienced by humans make meditation a very powerful technique in understanding human life materially and spiritually. In various scientific studies it has been found that meditation can help a person to revitalize his life both biologically and mentally. This practice becomes moderate between a person’s mind and body, which when a person’s mind is in a positive or negative state, will directly affect its biological aspects. Meditation in this case acts as a mind body medicine that creates a placebo effect that is able to provide a variety of positive effects on a person’s life through mechanisms that will change his perception and beliefs. Therefore, meditation as mind body medicine is a very important practice to be carried out to create a healthy mind, mental and physical for a healthy and harmonious life.
